thousands of people from Oakland live in sac and sac isn’t trying to charge an extra 100mill on top of rent. Extra 100 mil for essentially nothing and more crime and homeless is steep for Oakland real estate.

@@cjagimnz uhh… did you not read the 100mil part? That’s how Oakland got like this… trying to ignore the obvious and go on “respect.” That only works for so long and Oakland is in the hole. You can’t just force the A’s when they don’t want to, fans don’t want to go to games, and other places are better suited. The bay isn’t what it used to be; just like all the people leaving, so are the business. When the people leave the businesses leave. No paying customers means the team is leaving. Respect only goes so far; if it doesn’t make dollars then it doesn’t make sense.

The Mayor can’t be blamed for Fischer and MLB’s greed and unfair negotiation tactics. The City of Oakland and Alameda County negotiated in good faith with the A’s who basically used extortion tactics to penalize
the loyal fans who have supported this franchise for decades. Stay away from The Coliseum this year-let MLB and Fischer suffer some short-term economic consequences. Public dollars should not be used to subsidize a private enterprise. Hopefully, the county can sue the A’s to reacquire the 50% equity position in the Coliseum land rights deal the A’s extorted from the city.

I admit I'm just a casual A's fan in the Bay Area. I'd rather treat it like sending my kids off to the college. The Oakland A's will always have a special place in my heart no matter where they are.

Oakland had their chance. It's in so much disrepair that a new baseball stadium is the last thing on their list. Maybe they can build new housing where the stadium is now.

Las Vegas is already covered geographically by the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies. Even with tourists (who are in Vegas for gambling and shows, not baseball), I predict attendance will be anemic. Far more potential ticket-buyers in the Sacramento area.

Broke a$$ A's owner is a homeless owner just like Mark Davis. They need someone else to build them a stadium and they cant even bring a winning team to the cities. I would o ly build these teams new stadiums if they sell the teams to a new owner.
They're broke because they play in Oakland and there are way less revenue streams than across the bay. And they get zero help from government. You can support them in Vegas.
