A general tip is also just map knowledge. Learning how to play a map can make up other shortcomings of your tanks and help you in your playstyle. A good example is already displayed at 1:28, with the chosen flanking spots. Without map knowledge, it is tempting to flank through the 2/3 and 10 column, however that's the exact spots where fierce battles can happen, with flankers not being able to flank through there.
I would like to point out that smoke shells are the most underutilized aspect of the game, even going into the modern era of vehicles. German mains give improper smoke a bad rep already, but mountains shift when you send a battery’s worth of smoke shells into Poland’s lake ridges and get map control because the enemy team can’t see any of your team.
The Fox (british light vehicule) and the XM800T as well as the Object 906 and Object 685 are some of the best rat tier flanking vehicules in the game, and the Fox battles with the XM800T for the title of the most annoying flanking vehicules in every matches at their BR. also i'd add for the brawling section, the best tanks for this are the tank with a very good frontal armor with tiny weak spots (like MG ports) or beasts like the T34 or the Maus (angle the Maus turret and they can't even pen you frontally), otherwise you can also take a tank with a good reverse speed to get back into cover quickly. also there's techinically a fifth type of tank, the ones like the Marder or AGS that have the crew in the hull and nothing in the turret, these tanks can frontally engage every tank as long as you hide your hull behind cover (a hill or something), because they have a good depression for that. and the IT-1 is also a special case because you can fire and guide the missile without showing any parts of your turret, rendering you invincible against the enemy, it's probably the best hull down tank in the game. special mention to the ASU-57, that you can cover in bushes, hide in a forest, turn off the engine and most players won't even see you if they pass near you.
a tip for sniping: you can fire test shots at a major highway for enemy vehicles (road, hill, etc.) so you dont have to bother about rangefinding when you see an enemy and you can aim very precisely
5:53 sometimes its recommended to show your back because your engine can soak up enemy shells that would otherwise be deadly, tanks like the is-2 or tog ii can do this easily because they have a fast reverse speed
To new players: “just track, barrel, then flank them lol” is pretty hard and luck dependent in practice. It’s hoping that you can shoot their barrel and track then going all the way to their side without them repairing or their teammate coming to their aid And don’t go for cap zones, it’s just setting you up to get sniped(due to 99.9% of the zones have zero cover) and it’s a bomb magnet
the SMK is my favourite brawler, 2 cannons and deceptively high speed as its very rare, enemies often don't know where to shoot and (for some reason) default to the turrets and fail to pen for a 3.3 vehicle, it does well in 4.3, you just need to be more careful as some tanks can pen your back side where the ammo is
I really love this video and really take these into consideration when using a new tank, I think a part 2 would be nice to smoothen things out and give more tips and tricks
Excellent video dude, could u pls do a sniping guide? Like how to use cover, get to positions, not getting flanked and hull down trick. U would be a god for it. Thanks!
Well that can depend on a lot of different things, can you tell me how an air battle usually goes for you? What do you do when you spawn in, during combat, etc?
@skDoger i play air arcade usually i go spawn in air and goes for the closest enemy but when i try to dogfight i either cant follow them much or i go and zoom past them/crash into them. during combat i try to aim but i miss lot of times i also cant dodge bullets when a enemy is behind me
@@PotGuy69 Some planes are just better than others at dogfighting. Instead of going straight for the first enemy you see, try to climb when you spawn in and gain some altitude. That'll give you a big advantage over enemies below you. As for aiming, that's pretty much just muscle memory, so keep practicing
@@skDoger useful information. might use it in a realistic battle some time (well if im in a good mood) also btw i wrote down notes of the 4 roles just so i dont forget :]
these are all inferior playstyles, the one true playstyle is taking a chaffee and loading with only smoke shells

Best strategy is: Ratting or Doing the Funny.
M22, Fox, XM800T are great exemples
good stuff as usual!
after the basic of nations and mechanics of ammo and crew... maybe after this comes maps for the each role...?
Map guides are in my to-do list
The true true play style is grabbing your favorite rat, charging into the spawn, and killing one random Chaffee before getting annihilated.
Thank you bro
i feel like we missed one but i can’t tell what. Might just be that 8.0-9.0 changes the playstyle brackets entirely
Good stuff.....thanks....
My usual playstyle in almost any tank
Step 1: f it and ball
Step 2:???
Step 3: profit
With sniping, i disagree on sight distance control, its much faster to just move your mouse up and aim with the lines below your reticle.
Good points!
I would amend the sniper and argue that mobility is more important than armour because as a sniper you don’t want to be seen in the first place
