No need for a scaffold pipe to drift the bearing back on just put the shaft in a vice and hit the face with a hammer blob of weld on the retaining collet to make sure bearing doesn’t come off , good vid 👍

Such as the diff.. like is it a std mk2 diff with an lsd kit added. Kinda assume we know nothing about what's on maude and ester.. may help a few viewers out. Thanks! :) Ill try to remember to mention it when i re-fit the diff. But yeh its a standard 'english' axle fitted to Maude. I have changed the crown wheel and pinion ration to a very revvy 4.1:1 (which i think is what was fitted to the mk1/mk2 escort vans) and fitted the Tran-x plated LSD.

Not just RWD escorts that need LSD goodness. All RWD cars with a bit of poke need one. I had a quaiffe ATB fitted to my mapped E92 330d. Transformed it! Speaking of ATB’s, don’t they do them for escorts? No servicing and no special fluids needed as they don’t have plates that wear out!
An LSD would defo help in any rwd car but Escorts are all I have experience with (except a Volvo 340 I used to own but thats another story :) ) ATBs are available for Escorts form Quaife and are perfect for a rally car but they'r a bit too progressive for drifting (altho some people dissagree) Alot of companies will tell you that a plated LSD is too agressive for a road car but I love them. :)
All LSDs are good, better than open anyway! I was and still am a big fan of old fords, had 2 mk2 escorts and a mk1 back in the early 90s so I love what you’re doing with yours. I’d love one again now but the prices have gone crazy so I can’t afford them now. I also had 3 capris, a mk1 1300 gt and 2 2.8s, the last being a special with the standard LSD. What a drift machine that was! These days the only ‘interesting’ but affordable RWDs are BMWs.......I’ve had 7 so far 😂 Anyway, keep up the good work 👍🏻

alex cantlow all mk2s look like that mate. Apart from RS2000s which have a ‘nose cone’ on the front. Also some mk2s have the same front as mine but with round headlights (which have a different grill to suit) :)
