  • In this video (part two in the series) I will be continuing my walk along the Norfolk Coast Path, a long distance trail following the beautiful, rich coastline of North Norfolk, carrying everything I need and wild camping along the way.
In this episode, I wake up to a stunning Norfolk morning in the marshes and after a quick breakfast, pack up and get back on the trail. I walk through Burnham Overy and out past the beautiful saltwater lagoon and out towards the dunes. The journey then continues along the sandy beaches leading towards Holkham before swinging beside the pine woodland and on towards Wells Next To The sea. This old fishing port and busy seaside hot spot marks the end of this leg of the trail. But I will return soon to continue along this stunning and unique coastline, and continue to give you a taste of North Norfolk.
I hope you enjoy the video and thanks for watching!

SO nice to be able to see where 1 half of my ancestors came from. Sure it didn't look as such in their day, but nice just the same. And especially nice to see the spelling. For a long time I figured Whales/Wales and that it transversed along the way, but this proves otherwise and that makes me gleefully happy!! Thank you so much, Simon!! 😎

A familiar area to me mate, walked the whole thing. didn't know they are planning to extend it to Hopton, thats quite a trek! I'm planning to do Cromer to Lowestoft in the next month or so, I'll have then walked the entire East Anglian coast! The intro to this part was spectacular btw, the way the music stopped as you started walking off was pure class! I love little touches like that, good editing skills! That stretch down to Wells from Holkham gap is so long, takes ages to walk! Amazed you carried a drone too and still went so light! As for that flat spot to wild camp, I'm DEFINITELY going there lol. Can't wait for the next instalment mate.

I loved walking this section - Holkham especially! The extended route is up and running I believe - my plan is to walk the lot in stages, then back to the start of the Peddars Way via a couple of other trails. 😁 the camera gear weighed more than the rest of my kit combined!! Oh, how I suffer for my art! 😂

You film excellent material, however I wanted to comment on the sand bars. I know you're a UK man but if you ever do come to America the great lakes (especially superior) do the sand bar you mentioned. There's immense beauty in the states, well everywhere. But, the great lakes are second to none. If you ever get a chance, the shores of Lake Superior.. That's my home and it is wondrous. There's a thing that happens where you get a glimps of no horizon. It's looks as is it goes on forever. Like the edge of the earth. This bit of beach footage reminded me of that. Also thank you for putting your knowledge out there. You could charge people for what you know. I've learned a huge lot from you and I just wanna say thank you. Love the channel.

Love these videos! North Norfolk is we're me and my misses are saving up to try and move down too. It's a truly stunning place. I think watching your videos inspired us to get walking and exploring when we go on our holidays, we've had some stunning walks. Do you know when your planning on completing the coastal path 😁👍

Thank you. I'm planning on doing Hunstanton to Cromer once this lockdown is over. You've provided a great understanding of what I can expect.

You've no idea how much I enjoyed that, seeing old sights of an area I absolutely love. (You didn't show the flood height mark by the Wells beech front cafe.)
Anyway, cheers, and I'm really looking forward to your next leg x

This has been a lovely series - and I look forward to more. I have to laugh though - my knowledge of your geography is somewhat limited so there was no framework for the Norfolk Coast in my mind. So when you said Wells, I heard Wales and imagine my surprise to see that you were on the opposite coast! LOL - very nice indeed.

Hahaha - Yes, I can image that was surprising - a bit flatter along this coast! To make things more confusing there is another Wells in the West Country! Glad you enjoyed the videos. Cheers!

Nicely done. Interesting walk. When you are doing your editing at home how about inserting photos of the maps showing the area. Thenks

In other episodes of this series, I showed the route on the map, I just forgot to film it for this one. 👍

Thanks Simon. I have very much enjoyed this series on the Norfolk Coast path along with the Peddars Way. I live " across the pond " here in Vermont USA. We have a trail that runs the length of our state for 270 miles. Known as the Long Trail. Very nice to see the beauty of your local trail as well! I currently have about 2 feet of snow in my yard, so long distance hiking will need to wait a few months. Your time And effort is greatly appreciated! Wonderful job sir.

Thanks Kevin! The long trail sounds good - have you walked any of it?
Hope the snow melts soon for you!

Yes I have! I hiked it end to end in 2001. It took me 27 days. Love your work friend.

Really enjoy your videos. I especially liked your choice of opening music. I had the headphones on and had to listen to the song 3 times before watching the rest of the video.
