- In this video, I head out like the jolly swagman into the darkest depths of the Norfolk wilderness (well, to the end of my garden anyway) for a muddy winter lockdown overnighter.
My shelter of choice is a super comfortable canvas swag from Outhaus co and tarp. After foraging firewood (from my log store) I set about processing it down into thinner pieces in order to get a cozy fire lit. Dinner is a new ingredient to me - an oddly named, but absolutely delicious sausage called Groats Pudding, lathered in taste bud tingling sauce from the lovely people at Norfolk based The One Food Company. A couple of scrumptious ales later and it’s time for the obligatory hot chocolate and a very comfortable nights sleep.
Morning brings coffee, a tour of my sleeping arrangements and the pricze draw for my recent 100k subscriber giveaway.

Simon, a bloke in the back garden. At least you can get outside and enjoy a campfire. I can't even imagine the horrors of lockdown while living in an apartment building.
I live in a block of flats, so content like this is keeping me sane

I consider myself hugely fortunate to have a garden and live in a rural area during these times - and hopefully the videos help those who can’t get out so easily.
Am in suburban area but thankful I have a garden. Not one to camp in but big enough to chill in.
I live in an apartment building at the moment I wish to kill some kids for bouncing screaming and I don't have any kids you get the picture but I digress I just go out back and forth to work and grocery stores and well since I have mountain bikes and don't drive I go down to the parts that way and I do little bike camping quick overnights we can warrior crap if my headaches allow it and that's a big major if

Swags are a massive part of camping here in Australia 🇦🇺 they’re such a great bit of kit. Once again another great video mate 👍🏻
Frighty i have 2 part time jobs and on occasions have to rough it out bush for a day or two upto 2 weeks at a time and the Swag is a must. Add a 3x3m tarp and you live like a king. Love them I have a small one and a big daddy deluxe which is huge.

@@fishingwithfrighty1615 both jobs supply stretchers and swag so I don't even have to use my own, its great. Might be doing an overnighter next week to do some vehicle testing at the testing facility out on the highway towards Charters Towers.

It is bulky - you could easily reduce that by taking an inflatable mattress instead of the foam one - most of the bulk is the mattress 👍

A handy basecamp / homestead trick for splitting logs is to take an old trailer tyre laid flat on your chopping surface, then vertically load your logs in the middle so as you split them with your axe they stay "in the loop".
Thus they don't fall onto the damp ground and more importantly it saves your back from all that bending down to pick it all up !
