I love frogs and toads. I collect frog and turtle nic nacs and stuffed animals and things. I can fill an entire room with it all lol. Quick way to tell the difference,....Frogs are smooth and kinda wet or slimy and stay near or in water and tend to leap instead of hop. Toads have "warty" skin and they are usually dry and can be in yards and gardens where there is no water and hop short distances and can even walk like a dog lol. I've had frogs as tiny as a babys fingernail to as big as a puppy. One of Gods fascinating little creatures ♡. Another amazing video. Thank you! You are always a joy to watch. ♡

Once counted over 20 magpies together up in Newcastle. A number of collective nouns for them but my favourite has to be a mischief of magpies. Always say 'hello/morning/afternoon Mr magpie how's the wife and kids?' and always take my hat off and tip it. There's a reason for all this magpie malarkey. I got a stuffed one as a birthday present when I was 7 and the next morning we found one lying dead on our doorstep. Family conference we couldn't fathom it. Was it a heartbroken partner, our cat, some weirdo following us back from the taxidermist, the taxidermist himself? We settled on one for sorrow, two for joy and took it as magpie forgiveness and blessing. Just found your channel as soon to do this walk, really enjoyed good stuff!

I had a Uni geology fieldtrip along that coastline in 2011 - that was a similarly bleak experience in more ways than one. Visted Hunstanton, Well-next-the-Sea, Sheringham and Cromer. Made to write in notebooks until the cold and numbness had emanated from our fingertips the whole way up our arms. Highlight was going out to get fish and chips one evening in Sheringham where a group of 10 of us (yes - that was an all-time peak friends number for me!) started chanting a Teddy Sheringham football song, to which a elderly couple told us to 'grow up!'

I had a trick to make sure I would always come home with money from betting at the track. I would pay to rent a binocular. I would bet every race and lose all my money. At the end of all the races I would return the binoculars and get a deposit back so I always left the track with money. 😎👍

I say "Morning Mr Magpie", for very embarrassing reasons....
Years ago I was walking with a (now) ex-girlfriend along the Mersey Way. As we were walking she spotted a solitary magpie, and she explained to me that as a child in the midlands her father had explained to her that every time you spot a lone magpie you should always say "Morning Mr Magpie" for good luck. And as she said this she smiled and laughed out of embarrassment, and my heart melted as I witnessed the most beautiful thing I had ever seen.
Ever since then, embarrassingly, every time I see a lone magpie I say the same thing and I automatically remember how she looked. Over 26 years later. It probably hasn't helped with relationships since then, but it is a good image to carry.

But then maybe I wouldn't be so cool...
