@@WalkWithMeTim I'm not apologising why did you not mention to the public that you can park your car near to the beach 1 mile down I was waiting for it but nope not one mention of it.. Its like you left it out on porpuse
@@robbiedean2006 The main thrust of these videos is to share the beauty of the place - not to see how many more cars we can cram in to each area! Anyone who goes to visit can discover the finer details for themselves easily enough.
Brilliant, my family home town. Been there for all my life since 1940. No where better for beaches and character. How it has change over the years but still love it and fish & chips on the quay wall!!
We have only just got home from a North Norfolk break, and after watching this video, we want to go straight back. I think your seaside walkthroughs must be of great benefit to those who are unable to travel and are housebound - Great for mental well being, please keep them coming 🙏
Hub and I stayed in Wells in 1999. It was the year of the full eclipse and everyone was descending on Cornwall, where it was meant to be the best for viewing. As we lived in Cornwall, we needed to escape the utter hype and so decided to go to Norfolk for the week. It was so quiet there. Hardly anyone around. On the day of the eclipse, it was a beautiful clear sunny day in Wells. We went onto the quay and someone lent us their welding helmet so we could view the eclipse. We only had a partial one, but you could see it quite clearly. Meanwhile, back in Cornwall, it was a dreary overcast grey day and nobody saw anything, although it was very eerie as it just went dark. Wells looks like it's been built up since we went, but still stunning nonetheless. The sands are very similar to Rock on the north Cornish coast. We stayed in an old B&B which was on a square and our room was in the attic.
When I dream of my childhood. When I smell the sea in my sleep. I'm transported to the pine tree beach at Wells. It really is the best thing on the eastern coast. A Genuinely magical place.
Thank you for the video Tim it was a trip down memory lane for me, many many happy hours spent riding my bike, and walking along the never ending beaches with huge skies.......Beautiful Wells-next-The Sea
Honest to god one of my favourite places on the earth and feel very lucky to get back there a few times a year. I love that as you enter, the town's signage has the phrase "A Safe Haven" on it which couldn't be more true for me. Great video, would love to see you have a longer stay and enjoy some food/a couple of drinks one night too.
I’ve just very recently discovered your channel Tim. As a 50 year old American (born and raised in Kansas USA), I’ve been wanting to visit the UK for at least the last 30 years. I love watching British tv shows (the IT crowd, midsomer murders and mr bean my favorites), love seeing the architecture in the cities and the quaint villages and now I love watching your coastal videos. Makes me want to get across the pond even more. I also need to visit my street in London (my last name is Downing). 😄. Keep up the great videos! Thanks! Brian (p.s. I was bummed you couldn’t find a place to park the boat in order to grab a pint. I can’t wait to experience my first British pub!)
If you do pop over brian come to norfolk, as just few miles down the road there are a couple of usaf bases, they live on and of base, snd called little America. It would be home from home. Hope to see you one day. Take care
Great video, Wells has some great pubs, The Globe, The Edinburgh, The Crown and the Bowling Green, all in walking distance of each other, the Post Office and library and disused railway station are great too
Used to visit as a kid and ate the sandwiches before we even got up the road as we lived in south norfolk and it was a little bit of a trek. Loved the little train but think it’s gone now. Amazing camara work and presentation. You’re perfectionist approach really makes it fabulous for the viewer
It looks beautiful! I've only just heard of the place just this morning. But I've been considering visiting Norfolk for a little while now. Thank you so much for your video. I love videos like this because you show everything there is to see as you walk along. Perfect! Thank you for sharing this x
One of the best videos i’ve seen that shows the many charming features of Wells - you even managed to feature my little motor boat moored in the channel just down from the harbor !👍🏻 I’ve spent most weekends and summers in Wells over the past 20 years and it’s always been very difficult to explain to people just what the appeal of Wells is , your video will now help me to do just that. It’s only a shame that you filmed it on such a busy day. I know that this period is one of the busiest in the calendar, coupled with the impact of Covid 19 preventing many people from traveling abroad, but whilst the town has certainly become more and more popular over the years, it ‘s not usually as busy as it seems in the video. Normally, even during the summer months, on an early morning or early evening walk with the dogs I can often have that glorious beach to myself. Thanks again for a great video Tim.
Love Wells. The place where I first tried Samphire ☺ There used to be a lady that had a small stall on the harbour front and sold nothing but Samphire... A splash of vinegar on it and I'm in heaven ☺☺
Gaby I wish you well for tomorrow and tim its been great that you gaby doing seasaide walks plus going to diffrent places keep it up when I see you live on TH-cam I will make a dollnation its great to see people like your self's to do this .
Wow that looks beautiful I live in Suffolk and have been explored most of the East Anglian coast but haven’t been there, will have to give it a try. What it reminded me of from that video, is that I have recently come back from Cornwall and it looked just like a Norfolk’s answer to Padstow in Cornwall very similar with a harbour the fishing town with boutiques and a picturesque walk to the beach but with Cornwall being so much more hilly. It’s interesting how places can be so similar in character like that but have their own distinctive features of course. Thanks for these videos I really enjoy these, so relaxing.
great video. used to holiday here as a kid. my grand parents would take us every year. we used to camp on pinewoods and catch the train up to the harbour at evening. great times
I think you should be the Ambassador for East Anglian tourism. You do so much to promote how beautiful the area is. I love Wells, but you have to get there early to park. Worth it though for such a fantastic day out.
Looking beautiful, but even better if you take the time to walk halfway to Holkham beach and avoid the crowds. Well worth a trip on a sunny winters day and do the Holkham to Well's walk as it is fab, just make sure to bring a coat if a north wind is blowing!!!!
Hi Tim Wow beautiful I've been to Wells but never walked down to the beach. I wish I had now it's amazing I definitely will next time I'm up there . Thankyou so much for sharing this with us. Love Tracey xxx
This beach scares the hell out of me!! 😱 You're right to warn everyone about the tide coming in.... the water comes in so fast! I went there once, the tide wasn't even coming in, and we still got cut off in a strange pool of water that appeared behind us within a few minutes. Luckily it wasn't deep. For that reason I've never liked Wells-Next-To-Sea beach, and have never returned. But the town is lovely, such a traditional fishing harbour with beautiful old houses... I loved the shop lined road on the way to the harbour... looks timeless! I also loved the green, it reminded me of the green in Cathedral Close in Norwich. Must be a nice place to live... just don't get cut off on the beach!! 😬
Great video. I love north Norfolk, Wells, Holkham, Blakeney, Cromer, Sheringham, Hunstanton. Wish I still lived in Norfolk. But now I'm in south Devon.
Fun fact not known by many tourists: they open the high schools swimming pool to the public during the summer holidays and they have giant floaties you can sit on in the water :)
Well done I love your enthusiasm for the area. Indeed its lovely area walked through on it walking the Norfolk coastal path and visited it a few times for the day.
