This is my favorite video in this series. Thanks again for helping me fix my seat! It is almost to nice for the bike now. I also checked it is a Honda not a Yamaha.
That is GREAT to hear from a bigger channel!!!! I am glad you got some info from my vids. I will check out your videos this weekend. Thanks for stopping by!
Me too! Did my videos give enough info on how we did ours? I always wonder if I blast through some stuff to fast or if I forget to mention stuff. Thanks again!
Turned out great! I'll be doing mine in the next week or two. I had already ordered some fabric spike strips online, but I like the idea of using the carpet strips. Looks like it makes things easier.
I did end up using them, since I aready had them in-hand and I basically just had to cut them to length with a pair of tin snips. I didn't feel like trying to round up my rivet gun and stuff, plus, I wasn't sure how well it would work. The metal strips are pretty thin and softer than those strips you're using. I ended up using JB Weld and it worked great. After everything was set up, I gave the whole underside a coat of black paint. The strips worked great. Seat turned out really nice. My old seat didn't come with a cover or any hardware and someone had cut off the original clamps (or teeth or whatever had been there). Luckily, my new cover came with a strap and buckles. I just had to go to the hardware store and round up a couple 10mm bolts. I found stainless, large phillip head screws that fit perfectly and they look great. Seat is mounted and on the bike, but I'll need to add the chrome trim when I get time. Thanks for all the tips, man! It's like you made this video just for me lol!
What a great series really enjoyed it and the results you achieved are amazing you have given me plenty of tips for when I tackle my DRZ plank of wood loosely described as a seat lol.
Hello Steve. The fabric foam I use can be found by searching for "Pellon Flex Foam Sew-in Fabric". I is available online or at Walmart or Michaels or hobby Lobby. the blue camp mat is from Walmart. You can find it by searching for "Ozark trail Closed Cell Camping Mat". I hope that helps!
Here are the earlier videos of the seat restoration if you missed those and want to catch up on the fun! th-cam.com/video/LDFhudifQL4/w-d-xo.html

"I kinda wonder what Billy Ocean's up to these days.". HAHAHA
Or Tina Turner for that matter. That was a pretty funny day. 🤣🤣
Followed all your steps to recover a CB350 seat (except for the stenciling). The results were amazing. Thanks!!!
Hey! That is great news! Made my day to hear it turned out great! What year is your bike? I am thinking about getting a CB in the future.
Cool.
Tip: next time you pull a stencil or masking off, always use a hairdryer to warm it.; less chance of paint pulling off.
Excellent. Thanks for the tip!!!
I always love watching your videos.
Great to hear!!!! I'll keep trying to get beeter at building and editing!! Thanks again!
