Staples,i hate pulling staples! I re upholstered all the church pews at one of our local churches and that was a lot. Well done man! I only do motorcycles and some auto seats now
Very fine work, Sir. I enjoyed watching how you patterned the boxing and got your shapes just so, obviously the finished product is amazing. Stunning color choices, the whole thing looks like a work of art. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks to your videos I’m definitely ripping apart my Sargent seat and rebuilding it. It needs drastic foam reshaping so that will require a new cover. I make vinyl and canvas purses, but what is the type of vinyl you typically use for a motorcycle seat, and is that headliner foam you use when making quilting? Mostly I’d love to know more about the vinyl you use. Thanks for your talent.
Thanks for all these videos. I'm inspired to give it a go. What do you think about covering a seat with masking/paper tape to mark off and cut out a template for the new seat without removing and cutting up the old one?
Anrods Hi it’s a seat strap, not really used by the passenger anymore as it’s easier to hold onto the driver. There kept on bikes for cosmetic reasons as most modern bikes don’t have them anymore. Thanks for watching John
Melanie Porter, Hi it was around 1.5” of webbing wrapped in vinyl. the length is how long it needs to be they are all different, hope this helps thanks for watching John.
Christoffer Törnquist hi a used machine from eBay is your best bet spend as much as what you can afford would be my advice, a walking foot industrial machine is a must have in my opinion thanks for watching John
BIGBOI GARAGE Hi on this seat I used 6mm scrim foam, if you want the diamonds to pop out more I would suggest 12mm scrim foam. Thanks for watching John.
Ben Dover hi Ben thanks for the comment cheers. No sure you can buy one as it’s a one off I did for a customer! If you want something similar get it touch through my website thanks John.

Thanks for all these videos. I'm inspired to give it a go. What do you think about covering a seat with masking/paper tape to mark off and cut out a template for the new seat without removing and cutting up the old one?
Yes that would work as a template just remember to allow for the seams. Thanks for watching John
I'm always amazed that the staples don't go through and poke the vinyl. How short are the staples? Nice job!!
I use 4mm 6mm 10mm staples depending on where I’m stapling John
Where did the "Vespa" section come from? What thickness is the foam? Who is your supplier?
