Love the content. But just a tip at 47:48 on if you just do one square and make that perfect you can change to selected faces. Select everything then deselect and re select the perfect square right click and press. Fallow active quad. Everything in that island will be just like the perfect square. So, you don't have to do the alien to X and Y axis over and over again.

I remember using Blender for a 3D modeling class in college. It's was really my best option to make a Mecha model for my final project. Let's say it was very difficult but worth while.
For those who are wondering, I took inspiration from Mobile Suit Gundam. Specifically UC/Federation design MS. There were some guidelines to follow like our final sketch(it was totally OK to deviate slightly from your original, but maintain the design fully). To keep it short, I got 100% on my final.
From what I can remember, all the other students chose to do things like people, animals, or anything IRL. My model was somewhat complicated since the main shapes were round and blocky. I did the extra step to add small things that wasn't necessary, such as internal/external details. Pistons, visible joints, tech within the "visor", an "ammo storage" within the head for the head gatlings(like most MS have), etc. I had to dumbed down my explanation since my classmates maybe didn't know mechanical things nor Mechs in general from when telling them. They were intrigued cause I was the only person who made a mech. In the end I gain some recognition for my blender skills. Plus, I was able to get this model 3D printed from my professor. It came out great and I was gladly able to paint it. Sadly I don't have the files anymore, but my professor keeps most, if not all 3D models that he likes. I'm still in contact, so there's may be a chance of me getting that file

I read an infographic once that said the modeling alone is about 50 hours, but it was also about a more realistic style so i don't know if that'd make it take more or less time

... I recommend watching this with an addon to watch it at x6 speed, that so it only takes 10 minutes (unless you wanna use it as a tutorial for your own modeling, which I did)
    Looks amazing BTW

Blender is bad? Who says that? I don't see anyone talking about it being bad

@@cye2310 Some are saying it's very complicated to use apparently i've seen many messages like that over internet.

@@mistraelify Saying it's complicated doesn't mean they think it's " bad ". Blender is complicated to learn, but that's just because there's so many tools, it doesn't mean that anyone thinks it's bad.

@@EzzyMintGacha Yes i totally follow you there. But some says it's bad because it's difficult to learn. I'm not personally saying it's bad i just relate what i've read over some years.

I need to stop sleeping blendr and finally learn how to use it. It was been sitting on my desktop for 2 years since the last time I tried to use it. I feel its the next step I need to take as an artist.
