Anytime you're crossing into Cali, speed limit is going to change to 55. If you're doing 59-60mph, you won't get a ticket. 35:00min in: you could still buy the truck while on the job and assign it to a driver, so maybe that is why there is no prompt before hand. 37:00min in: sound barrier is correct. for neighbouring houses
I love the Kenny W900, but my only and major complaint is in-cab reversing. On the sleepers, the Stacks, Plain and Standard, block the view when looking behind out the window. Gotta mirror reverse the whole way. Needs an option to extend the player view when looking behind, so it lets you see around the stacks and sleeper
1. Traffic lets you turn left because you are so far past the white line. There is apparently an invisible line past the white line that stops oncoming traffic. It is the same line that AI pull up to and stop. 2. You can zoom (and turn off) the in-dash sat-nav, you just have to assign the button.
+2joesatriani With the scaling of the game at 1/35 the changes are faster than what they would be in the real world. Usually you'll have like a mile notice before the speed change in here...2 second notice.
There is a buton for the interior GPS is not mapped but you can map it în settngs-> keys&controls-> dasboard map mode. Btw, the interior display of the Kenny W900 is a bit better but it doesen-t tell you what gear are you in
I might be late but the holes in the front bumpers, is that when a truck gets stuck, they can reach the frame through the holes to pull them out of a bind. On Netflix there is a show about a big rig recovery service called Highway Thru Hell. Check it out.
Yes finally here!. Gotta say it man i am a new sub and i love your videos, I was not into "trucks" before. I'm more of a racing games guy, but after watching this i had some cash left after building my pc and bought ETS 2 and ATS thanks to you mate. First thing i did was get some mods and get lots of cash and xp but i found myself with nothing to drive for...so i re started both games no cheats or mods and it has been a great experience so far thanks keep the chanel going man. Cheers.
When your in an intersection and turn, it's closest lane to closest lane. So if you turn left you would turn onto the most left lane, or the "fast lane" in that case.
Imo the w900 sounds epic and you are able to zoom the dash map in keyboard scroll down until you see dashboard map mode it is set to nothing by default. With it you can cycle through the modes and even turn it off
10:00 I don't know if I'm correct, but it looks like a Toyota Yaris, maybe the 2008 model. I've heard of the Ford Ka. The only place in the Americas it was sold in was in Latin America and South America, but not the United States, so that couldn't have been a Ford Ka.
+Squirrel Have you been tempted by the new tiredness algorithm? I did it at the weekend (necessity) - the screen goes black, says "dozing" and you can hear your truck in the background - it can end up ANYWHERE! Crossing junctions, hitting walls or cars ... much more realistic! Hope they bring this to ETS2 !!
I actually played ETS2 single player for the first time since I got it 2 years ago.. OMG, it is so much more peaceful than MP, It is so much more relaxing knowing that there won't be a truck coming at you on the wrong side of the road or that no truck is going to spawn inside of you while doing 60 on the highway. But am looking forward to set my new PC up when I can find a HDMI monitor.. Anyway, enjoying the series Squirrel... Looking forward to both, getting my hands on this game, and more videos
That feature was always there in ETS. I definitely remember you couldn't buy a truck when on a job. I'm not sure because it's been a while, but in ETS i don't think you could even enter the dealership when on a job.
dude the speed limit change was a good few miles before you got fined plus on the up side you can zoom in the dashboard satnav in the keyboard options (where the button maps are) you can zoom the sat nav, turn it off completely and do a dashboard trip reset
-.- staying up late into the morning for episode #23 & it doesn't happen. Two days in a row man this is FUN! From uploading one episode each day (when trucking diaries started to one video every 3 days instead of once a day).
The sign that said Welcome to California was in the middle of Primm. Speed limit was still 80 and 65. There was no in-game sign that he was probably looking for.
SCS is trying to get the Volvo truck liscensed among others, so if you want a really good model of it, dont use a mod and wait until the official one is released. I myself am waiting to see if they bring in the Cascadia, but it all depends on if they are permitted by Volvo and Freightliner, etc.
That guy sitting on top of a mound is the result of of what they call open face mining when they dig a big whole in the ground then they pile the dirt up in a mound....
Squirrel, actually, when driving on the right side, everyone coming from the right of your turn has right of way, i do think in england is different cuz you drive on the left side of the road so u give right of way to people on your left
Ah, bright red interiors. Had those several times in the US. Yellow Mustang with bright red pluche interior. And before that a white Crown Victoria with bright red pluche interior. All rentals, wonder if it's just rentals having it :)
one thing I wish they would implement in American truck Sim is the ability to slide your tandems forward or backward when you're parking to give you more maneuverability instead of keeping the tandem's the same place they always are
In Canada and the states, on a red light it stop sign if you are turning right and the way is clear, your allowed to go. Slot of ppl don't understand, especially ppl from the UK.
It's totally easy to get psyched-out at critical moments like turns or speed limit changes by external distractions. This game generates those kinds of hazards.
As long as you at least slow down and check instead of just blowing through the off ramp and a cop sees you, they will usually let it go, just as long as you SLOW DOWN before proceeding.
I am not sure there is a satnav zoom control on ats but on ets, if u look at the keyboard controls in the settings, u can configure a key to it so u can zoom it in
I did notice through watching the videos. Each time you slept- you were slowly but progressively waking up earlier into the morning. I really want to use the sleeping fatigue, but it's just done wrong. It ruins so much fun you could be having with it off. I really wish I could customize it rather than it being DOT-designed.
I don't know about the USA. But where I live, most buses definitely don't stop at the STOP sign when the roads or streets are empty. Trucks do stop as the environment for them is most certainly new or not used to. And as a common sense plus basic instinct and knowledge they stop. In-town buses seem to have a bit of home field advantage you know, when it comes to stop signs. At least here.
I have the same truck as you Squirrel, and I'm thinking of buying a second truck for one of my drivers and I'm thinking of the Kenny W900 of whatever its name is. But the gauges on the interior cause a little bit of lag. Btw, that car that you called a Ford Ka, it's a Toyota Yaris.
the engine in the w9 sounds better than the stock trucks but I also like loud trucks and older trucks and plus the wheel base is because American trucking my dad drives a 70 ft unit
Actually that feature is in Euro Truck. ( I just encountered it this weekend) Maybe it was in an update. Wanted a new truck, found a Scania dealer while hauling, went in wanted to use a ton of money, but got the same message. Can't buy a new truck while hauling apparently.
I don't know wich states they will work on after Arizona but wouldn't it be normal to link the west coast to the east coast through the southern states? New Mexico>>Texas>>Louisiana>>Mississipi>>Alabama>>Florida and then move up to New York and "fill" the map after that, they would also to include some parts of Canada so that you could take cargos to Alaska
+Squirrel No need to watch videos of the engine sound. I have driven Pete 579's and Kenworth T680's at work all the time. :) I see the mistakes SCS does and one of them is very sad. In the Pete 579 the drivers side mirror arm is not correct for the view. You shouldn't be able to see through the gap in the mirrors arm. You actually can't see any gap in the mirrors arm in the drivers seat. I'll have to take a picture of it next time I drive a 579 and post it in a comment or on a forum post for SCS so hopefully they will fix it.
look before the 5 days ago one the rest are all a week ago because they were all uploaded on the same week daily.....all the videos before episode 21 were uploaded daily.
I watched that trucking video on truck stops/weigh scales that he talked about two or three episodes ago.I'm guessing these videos are every two days now not every day like they were before.
I find myself rewatching this series...i don’t even know why. Wish you had a ets version or this game would be as expanded. You would think driving around Chicago area all day I would be sick of this lol
why do you use the onscreen mirror when dropping your trailer off now? ive watched you from your early ets2 days and now your going back to basics and using f4 mirrors.. you have track-ir. use the truck mirror, please.
I'm just back from Vegas and I could actually see one of the streets we walked down in your video. Linux gamer here and I can't wait to get this game. Keep up the great vids. :-)
You can't change your truck in ETS2 as well. That feature is in there since right from the start. You should know this as you've run into this problem on the early TSM map in North-Africa. Btw it's at least realistic. Who changes their truck middle in a job?
Hey Squirrel, I'll explain you the speed limits so maybe you get less fines :D In California its usually 55 on the main roads, sometimes reduced to 35 for road works, and 30 in the cities. In Nevada you can do 80 on main roads with 2+ lanes for every direction, 70 on main roads with only 1 lane per direction and 30 in the cities; however when a main road passes through a city the speed limit is reduced to 65. Hope it helps ;)
You can actually zoom in, on the dashboard Sat Nav. Need to map a button on "Dashboard Map Mode" in game options.
You play these games the way they are meant to be played! Thanks @Squirrel
Paul i THINK if you drop the trailer before trading in then you can go ahead with the sale and carry on your job once in the new truck.
@21:04 There is! Go into the key bindings and it is in there, it lets you change the zoom on the GPS on the dashboard.
9:59 it's a Toyota Yaris. We don't have Ford Ka's in the U.S.
6:55 maybe they were just being helpful lol!!! I noticed in Euro Truck Sim trucks will flash you at junctions to let you out of a junction.
My dad bought his last pickup brand new and put like 330,000 miles on it before trading it in… it still works too
+Squirrel Hey Paul, the trailer at the beginning is Saia. They're a pretty big company here in the states. Just an fyi.
1. Traffic lets you turn left because you are so far past the white line. There is apparently an invisible line past the white line that stops oncoming traffic. It is the same line that AI pull up to and stop.
2. You can zoom (and turn off) the in-dash sat-nav, you just have to assign the button.
I have been waiting for this
+Anthony Washington I know took forever...
+Thrownblock ta det lila lungna
I'm waiting for the next one and have been for the past 3 bloody days. One would think he would have uploaded one today
it was 55 limit for quite some time :P
I saw that too. It went from 65 back to 80, then to 55. They definitely need more signs
Why would it even go to 80 then go 55 for such a short period.
+2joesatriani With the scaling of the game at 1/35 the changes are faster than what they would be in the real world. Usually you'll have like a mile notice before the speed change in here...2 second notice.
I noticed that as well
There is a buton for the interior GPS is not mapped but you can map it în settngs-> keys&controls-> dasboard map mode. Btw, the interior display of the Kenny W900 is a bit better but it doesen-t tell you what gear are you in
31:02 it is only there because you are driving the truck on a job and are trying to get rid of it while it is hauling.
I might be late but the holes in the front bumpers, is that when a truck gets stuck, they can reach the frame through the holes to pull them out of a bind.
On Netflix there is a show about a big rig recovery service called Highway Thru Hell. Check it out.

i like that the new W900 has digital speed in the display.
the Kenworth 's interior also has buttons that move when u activate lights, wipers, etc.
That feature about buying a truck on a job was definitely in Euro Truck. Remember going from Rabat to El Hamma, when you tried to get an Iveco?
Squirrel I just watched top10 realistic job games
8:American truck sim
1:Euro truck sim
Err, you can't be helped .
no you didn't!
+TheDiamondHusky191 oreos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
+Courtney Gardner rude how do you know you haven't watched it
+TheDiamondHusky191 But how is ATS less realistic than ETS2 when they're basically the same...
When your in an intersection and turn, it's closest lane to closest lane. So if you turn left you would turn onto the most left lane, or the "fast lane" in that case.

Another excellent video! Keep up the good work, Paul! Daily videos is hard work but keep at it, we are all appreciating them greatly!!
23:44 You did not have the right of way Paul, he is in the lane that doesn't cross another set of lanes.
I actually played ETS2 single player for the first time since I got it 2 years ago.. 12:50 Welcome to California! Here's your speed ticket, enjoy your stay!
Cannot wait for SCS to expand the map to the Pacific Northwest!
I can't wait till the US is done and I can go from California to Maine on a trip, hopefully they'll give an option for those LONG journeys.
Maybe they'll add Canada and Mexico. I'd love to go from L.A to Cincinnati, to Halifax.
+Squirell there is a button for navigation in a truck to zoom you can even turn it of
You can change the zoom in the built in GPS. "Dashboard map mode" in the key assignment settings.
dude the speed limit change was a good few miles before you got fined
plus on the up side you can zoom in the dashboard satnav in the keyboard options (where the button maps are) you can zoom the sat nav, turn it off completely and do a dashboard trip reset
-.- staying up late into the morning for episode #23 & it doesn't happen. Two days in a row man this is FUN! From uploading one episode each day (when trucking diaries started to one video every 3 days instead of once a day).
The speed limit changed to 55 when you crossed the NV/CA border. It's statewide for trucks. The fine was $500.
The sign that said Welcome to California was in the middle of Primm. Speed limit was still 80 and 65. There was no in-game sign that he was probably looking for.
You CAN enable a shortcut for the inbuilt navigator!!
Something like Cabin GPS map - something

For your information, Autos with trailers and trucks are still limited to 55 MPH as specified in California Vehicle Code 22406
You can change the zoom on the built-in sat nav. It's under Settings-Keyboard-Dashboard Map Mode
That guy sitting on top of a mound is the result of of what they call open face mining when they dig a big whole in the ground then they pile the dirt up in a mound....
"We'll take up two spaces because I hate you!" Lol that's hilarious I was thinking the same thing! Love the videos squirrel! Very well done.
I'm very happy with the w900. It's a very awesome truck and it's actually cheaper than your peterbuilt
My only complaint is that in the default seat position you can't see the mirrors but you have trackir so it's no big deal for you
+Tallishyeti27 but w900 is way too loud for comfort and the visibility is terrible, peterbilt 579 is much modern and cool
+Harry Tung turn the volume down. Plus, there's nothing wrong with a loud truck
Tallishyeti27 it isn't very loud, but the of the sound of the w900 is disturbing
+Harry Tung Sound mods on his mod list :)
once you have 3 trucks, you can buy any truck dealers truck that your opened using truck dealer, buy online option any time of the day or night
Squirrel, actually, when driving on the right side, everyone coming from the right of your turn has right of way, i do think in england is different cuz you drive on the left side of the road so u give right of way to people on your left

I've mapped my Z key to zoom the truck sat nav, it also turns it off.
It needs to be setup in the key mappings.
It's totally easy to get psyched-out at critical moments like turns or speed limit changes by external distractions. This game generates those kinds of hazards.
I'd say that's a good thing. Imagine if the game was too boring or bland to take your eyes off the road.
Squirrel at 23:50 he had right of way, if you're crossing his lane of traffic he automatically has right of way
As long as you at least slow down and check instead of just blowing through the off ramp and a cop sees you, they will usually let it go, just as long as you SLOW DOWN before proceeding.
I'm pretty sure you CAN change the zoom on dash satnav. The'res a specific key bound to that. Look for it in the options
Squirrel in settings-Keybindings u can select button for change zoom to truck navigation !! :)
Hi Paul the kenworth w900 sound is nice and the engine brake sounds sick
I am not sure there is a satnav zoom control on ats but on ets, if u look at the keyboard controls in the settings, u can configure a key to it so u can zoom it in
There's a key in options which you allowed to change zoom in built in sat nav :) It's just not defaulted set :)

I really want to use the sleeping fatigue, but it's just done wrong. It ruins so much fun you could be having with it off. I really wish I could customize it rather than it being DOT-designed.
get the cummins n14 from kreichbaum mods. it sounds amazing. also start taking the highest paying jobs as they will help with the loan more.

I have about 214,000 dollars, do you think I should buy another truck or wait till I have more money
+Tommy Arbel i have a garbage pc and i didn't find any lag switching from a peter to the keny w900
You can zoom built in satnav there is a key binding just not one as default. +Squirrel
the ford cat you saw is a Ford focus over here in the states
In ETS2, I've never been able to buy a new truck (or trade one in) while on a job. This has been a thing there for quite a few versions.
I like how squirrel tries to make things realistic
+squirrel there is a button to change the inside gps you just have to go to settings and mapp a thing that saise cab gps(i think).
10:10 that's a toyota yaris
the engine in the w9 sounds better than the stock trucks but I also like loud trucks and older trucks and plus the wheel base is because American trucking my dad drives a 70 ft unit

The W900 can be so annoying to drive. Nose blocks a lot, and the pipe thingies block you when you try to look back out the window.
you've been able to zoom the in dash sat nav since ets2 as long as you set the key in the settings
You can change the sat nav via key press you just need to bind the key it is in the menu.
At 13:02 I saw that speed change for 10 seconds. Wow
You can change the mode on the Built-In-GPS
It is in the settings of he game. It is currently not set to anything.
i wish these were daily
+Bacon Man me too.... come on Squirrel u can do it m8 !
they are! stupid!
+FlameThrash900 Only on the weekend they aren't...the whole of last week he was posting daily.
+Kyle Kiptoo the last one was 2 days ago (as of now) the one before that was 5 days ago.....did you go to school
look before the 5 days ago one the rest are all a week ago because they were all uploaded on the same week daily.....all the videos before episode 21 were uploaded daily.
in ETS there was a bing for the built in navigation display. Not sure if its in ATS but if it is it will be in the options
The issue with long trains is the way the time scale works. With a long train you can be stuck at a rail crossing for 12 hours or more.
+Seth VanEyck They still could add long trains on tracks which don't cross any road, if they wanted to.
+Rattalier very true!
u can go 10mph over before they ticket you, unless in city limits i think its 5 mph, they have your long train mod too
there is a key for zoom the gps in the truck. look bellow the truck information (the "I" key). you have to maped.
greatings from Argentina
ZETA
I watched that trucking video on truck stops/weigh scales that he talked about two or three episodes ago.I'm guessing these videos are every two days now not every day like they were before.
21:00 there is an option for that in the keyboard settings
I find myself rewatching this series...i don’t even know why. Wish you had a ets version or this game would be as expanded.
You would think driving around Chicago area all day I would be sick of this lol
At 10:15 it's a Yaris
+Samuel Leboeuf Good eye. I was going to say it was a VW Golf.
+Samuel Leboeuf beat me to it lol. Looks just like my 08 toyota yaris
+nelson falzarano I know what the Yaris look like because they are everywhere in Quebec😄
+Samuel Leboeuf well I'm In fl in the USA
+nelson falzarano you're lucky to be in florida because you don't have snow and low temperature
you can zoon in and out the truck gps... look for your config keys on game options
Could you use the exhaust break more often? Just for the heck of it? :^)
The car at 9:57 is a Toyota Yaris/Vitz/Echo.
why do you use the onscreen mirror when dropping your trailer off now? ive watched you from your early ets2 days and now your going back to basics and using f4 mirrors.. you have track-ir. use the truck mirror, please.
12:23 wow, is that literally just a few yards of 80mph speed limit followed by 55mph
depends on if the train is a local or road train.... locals don't really go past 10-20 miles, road trains go 100+
I'm just back from Vegas and I could actually see one of the streets we walked down in your video. Linux gamer here and I can't wait to get this game. Keep up the great vids. :-)
Dear Squirrel, when you're turning left, the oncoming traffic turning right has priority over you (min. 23)
Whis there was on/off load of trailers, and route planner for multiple stops👍👍
You can't change your truck in ETS2 as well. That feature is in there since right from the start. You should know this as you've run into this problem on the early TSM map in North-Africa. Btw it's at least realistic. Who changes their truck middle in a job?
Left turn always yields to right turn unless right turn has a yield then left has right of way
Squirrel , You can click Stock in to save the configuration and buy later.
