Toby definitely likes the word bepis. In Deltarune Chapter 2, Spamton Neo fires blue balls called "Pipis" at you.

2:26 this is actually used if you kill toriel then go to sleep in the bed at her house, you wake up with lights off (whether you turned them on or off before sleeping) and this track is playing, you can toggle it on and off though with the lights like you can with the music box version of home if toriel isn't dead
When I first played Undertale, I killed Toriel not knowing I should’ve just kept sparing. Whenever I hear ruinspiano is unused, I do a double take because I’m like ‘I swear I’ve heard it in the game before’
What actually plays is a slowed down version of Fallen Down, Toriel’s theme.
Flowey's ,,ahh!'' sound maybe meant to be used when Toriel hit him

I've always had the same mindset as toby when it comes to datamining and stuff.
One of my favorite times in gaming was the Bigfoot hunt in San Andreas. You can't have shit like that anymore. You can't have mysteries and secrets anymore. The instant a game comes out, people are dicking around in the files, ready to ruin everyone's fun. It sucks.

@@michaeldreemurrandhisaus2165 half of the fandom is toxic (very) (maybe a bit more than half x-x), but that's just the "sans fandom" the ones that just came for thew popularity of the moment.
undertale is much bigger than that (even sans is more interesting than how the fandom just made it), and there's still people that appreciate the true effort and complexity that took for making this masterpiece.
i really can't blame the people who says that undertale is cancer with things like under(her)tail, chocotale, or several other au's, but they really should play it first before judging it...
i can't promise you will like it but if it catches you at any point, then you start getting mmore interested and exploring new options, and you realize it's a lot more developed than it looks like at first, the characters might be a bit dumb and annoying sometimes but they aren't that simple at all, even meme characters with no principal apparent big roles like mettaton, papyrus or muffet have some deep lore and roles in the game.

Agh is also used in one of Omega Floweys attacks, i think the attack that has mouths or eyes on it
Ikr. The Gaster room isn't unused either; if you have 62 (I think) fun value, a separate corridor in waterfall will appear with a chance for a gray door to appear in it. When going through the door it will take you to the Gaster room. The 'Ahh' sound is used in the Omega Flowey fight when he shoots his vines at you, but yet again, it is distorted.
The "unused" room with the mystery man IS used, it happens at a certain FUN value for a fake hallway. If you get the hallway, there is a 10% (If I recall) for a door to show up. If you go through that door, it leads to that room. Nice vid, though!

Hey I remember that phrase from Mergs video called "Undertale Corrupted"
Defeated sprites are most likely in alphabetical order, meaning if you call a sprite that doesn't exist the game will overflow into the first spriet possible reaulting in the aaron defeated sprite.
That would make sense !
Either that or it could be a situation similar to Pokemon gen1, where iirc certain glitch Pokemon default to rhydon since that has an index of 1. Perhaps Aaron, for unknown reasons, also shares this trait?

I remember a glitch when I killed Icecap after I took off his hat. Aaron sprite appears including a Rec sprite (that was seen on Mettaton EX fight) during vanishing scene

random facts: most of the unused sprites (the doge, the sus papyrus, and an unseen outline for the sepia scene and a few others) were scrapped because they were “too good” according to toby.
the black haired frisk was scrapped in favor of a brown outline due to the hair not being able to be seen against the games black backgrounds
photoshop/omega flowey originally had extra sprites that depict worms, chains, and bones (for an animal, vegetable, mineral vibe?) he also had a large set of tv sprite faces, but they were scrapped.

That's a good theory, and I respect it, but here's something else. If Gaster was the one speaking in room_gaster (highly likely but I don't want to assume anything), then that person, or redacted, couldn't be him. Gaster speaks in all caps, similar to Papyrus, and redacted uses lowercase wingdings.

Fun fact: bepis was actually a way of the developers to troll each other
The debug tiles are used, you just need to load the UNDERTALE project file in game maker and open any room in the ruins/snowdin/etc.. These are used for collision stuff. You can't see them in game, but debug mode can show you these tiles too.
22:30 Actually this sprite was used, but it's depends on luck to see this. When you create a save file, the game will give a random number from 1 to 100 for your save file. Depends on this number you will encounter different Gaster's followers on elevator location. And if you lucky enough and game will give you number 100, then you can even find a secret door with Gaster himself! You can find a lot of evidence for this theory in the Internet

at 9:54 thats a earthbound reference. Its used for an npc in moonside, but instead of bepis, its whatever you set your favorite food too. Ive played the game so many times that I realized this and feel really good now that I did.

I knew I recognized this as an earthbound line, but forgot where it was said! Pretty neat!
If I had to guess why menu 5 got unused, I'd have to guess that it's because you have 6 main friends and 7 tracks, right? Which would leave one track for each friend added, and one for having no friends. But you make friends with Sans and Papyrus at the same time, so Toby had to cut one of the menu tracks, and decided 5 was a small enough change to cut.
