I’ve been sitting in my driveway trying to figure this out 😂. So glad you shared this information. Just bought a 2023 Honda CRV Hybrid sport yesterday and wanted to play around with the infotainment system. Thank you.
Great video, thanks for sharing! My first Push Button Start experience was on a rental car. They handed the car off to us running and we drove away. I noticed that it had Push Button Start and asked my wife to look for the fob. She didn't see it, so we stopped in a parking lot to look for it (leaving the car running). No fob in sight. Called the rental car place and the agent brought us the fob. Kind of dumb luck on my part to even think about looking for a fob when I noticed the Start button. We own one now and if my wife or I come home and the other takes off in the car, we make sure that the driver has a fob with them (as we only have one car and would be in a bind if the fob-less car was shut off somewhere).
Thanks, this really helped, I have a older model Highlander and it does not have a push button start! Waiting to buy a 2022 Highlander! You are the Best Steve!!
I am a new driver but I was never properly taught how to turn a car. I always turn on the car and engine right away but on the test, you have to turn on the car first without turning on the engine and use the blinkers, headlights, etc... so I was confused! but thank you
You gotta know the push button start is still an an unknown to many drivers. I always had a key to turn and start, etc. Lately I had to go in to a rental which was late model. Agent hands me a set of fobs and off I went. It took some additional assistance to teach me to press the brake when pressing the Start button. The feeling is kinda like learning to drink from a strew.
I had seen several people have issues starting a push start car and made the video due to that. Like I said alot of us in the car industry take things like this for granted
What if I'm in the car, want to turn off the ignition but keep the radio on? So far only way I've found how to do this is turn the car off (press button once), then press it again. But then I lose my radio for a few seconds as it boots back up. It's rather annoying. With a "normal" key I'd just turn the key to accessory and the radio would never turn off, it'd stay on like I want it to
My outlander has a DVD player, so I put into accessories mode 1 push of button n it times out after 20mins and can't watch a full DVD do I need to put into run mode 2 pushes of button? To be able to keep everything on longer than 20mins or is there another way?
On highlander 2021 xle, how the headlights or fog lamps can be turned on when unlock the car with remote? I had accord 2018 and whenever I unlock the car the whole exterior and interior lights turned on as welcome lights. How can I do that with my highlander?

I currently drive a 2023 toyota tacoma and it being a push start vehicle, I'm just wondering what the proper procedure is to start it, do I need to go accessory mode and then go to run mode and wait a couple seconds before putting my foot on the break and only then start the engine? Or is it fine for me to just go straight and put my foot on the break and start the vehicle everytime? That's what I've been doing recently and I wonder if that's causing any harm considering it's a 2023 year made vehicle and that I also live in a place that has heavy winters
