Hi. Does your car have a speed limiter function, as in on my current car when i set the speed limit, i cant accelerate beyond that. Does toyota have something like this?

The problem is unfortunately in eu since this year even if you turn it off or set it to notify just visually next time you start the car it has been back to normal settings (i have a 2024 yaris and its anoying in 20-30 km/h zones which you definitely with 0 risk can go 40km/h also the sign reader some times read the sign of the other side of the highway which is 70 but your side is 100 and it beeps at you
@@dainazas unfortunately due to EU laws you can't change the settings, as if you do, they will just reset the next time you turn your car on. If it's bothering you a lot, you can turn it off every single time. Otherwise you'll just have to get used to it
Agree there’s a few sub menus to go thru. However my question is this, how do you turn volume down on the Toyota Dynamic navigation. And also on the Speed and alert warnings. There doesn’t seem to be a volume bar on either. Cheers.

I love the alert as I don’t want to give the government money. They made it hard to find. Had it on my Corolla and I ignored 5:36 it once $450 aud 6km over the speed limit on a 60km zone at 4:30 am. We used to have 5km grace if you were within that range you did not receive a penalty.(the speed penalty was always 6 to 7km above whichever road speed, amazing) Now it’s zero tolerance.

Excellent video however, i have a follow up question. We have the new look 2024 C-HR Hybrid. This doesn't have the option to change the sensitivity of the alert. 1, 3 or 5 mile an hour and ........... if i change the notification from audio/😡visual to only visual, it resets back to the original setting when i next start the car. Unlike some others who have commented on this feature here , i hate it. Far too many beeping alerts.😡
The one simple reason for having the speed limit visual only is this: You get off ramp speed limits every time you go past an off ramp but in fact you are driving at the legal highway speed limit, The system consistently cries wolf in some built up areas and some suburban streets.
I’m curious, once the settings are changed, are they permanent? Kia has a similar system. They, too, have the option to turn it off. But once the car is turned off, it goes back to the default “ON” position. So, I just hope Toyota is not the same, where the driver has to re-go through the whole procedure every time they start it up.

in saudi arabia the speed limit is 120KMPH, however when your traveling the speed limit gets up to 140KMPH, so just to getting 20KM worth of speed id have to deal with the annoying Speed limit peeping and here is something you may not know, i dont mind the peeping sound, but the warning sign on my dashboard gets on my nerv as it hides crucial information which may seperate me from 50$ speed ticket to up to 100$ speeding ticket just because i cant see how fast did i go over that 120KM... so its absurd id say... the warning should peep at you and notify you for a duration of 1Min after that it should be something like a check engine light. so that the driver while speeding he at least isnt distracted which might cause a bigger safety problem...

Hi Steve, great video and it helped me a lot. However, when i turn the car off and back on again it goes back to the default “ON” position or defaults to "Visual & Audio". Similar thing happens when i try to change the notification on the LTA. I have to redo it every time i turn the car on and off again. Any ideas?
Hi Steve.. I did absolutely the same thing that you. I put it on 'visual only' and after stoping and starting the engine it turned back to "visual and audio" it is very annoying to do it every time. I am in France.. and the dealer said that they can't change to 'visual only' permanently
@@babencoboris395 same problem here. I was surfing the whole net and i found that it is because of new EU regulation. Like in other cars with start/stop system this feature can not be switched off permanently. If you find any solution pls let me know as well😊
Hey Steven, is it going to set it permanently ? Like when you turn off the car and start it the next time you would not get any signals/beeps or you should set it up again? Likewise it is with lane assist feature (you have to manually stop it each time you start the car).

Im wondering to. Here in the UAE speed limits is 140kmh. And i also has a bsic model of higlander. Beeps forver and scares the shit out of me every time i go up and above 120 but also when decreasing below.
Steven, how does the 2022 Highlander know what the speed limit is? Drove my 2022 Highlander off the lot from the rail delivery. No one knows how the vehicle tells you on the screen. At least 15% of my vehicle’s speed limit is not correct. I am driving in the town I have lived in for 25 years. I have checked the speed limit signs.
I have a 2018 Toyota Highlander XLE and I do not get the options you show. I really need to warn myself not to go over the speed limit. My husband is in a nursing home, dying with dementia, and I cannot afford a ticket, but, with all the distractions in my life, it is easy to go 45 in a 40 and not notice it.

you can buy equipment to mirror but Toyota does not offer that function otherwise

This is what is happening to me on the toyota rav4 2024. When i turn the car on it defaults back to the ON and visual and audio option

It uses a camera to see it not the GPS
@@stevenwelchtoyota It says that TSS-P doesn't show the Speed Limit sign as a feature. I have passed some, and it gives me the wrong Sign Limit

There is a governor that stops you at about 100 MPH but that is it.

It uses the camera to watch for.road signs. If the signs are old it may not see them

So how does it know what the speed limit is in different places? Speed limits change in my city every damn block it's crazy
Mine still beeps when the speed is over 100.
Maybe keep it under the century mark?
