  • MTB terms that we use all the time on the trails are stranger, and funnier, than we ever realized! Terms like 'babyhead rocks' and 'false-flat' are ubiquitous to mountain biking, but actually sound kind of weird & crazy when you really think about it!
Dan & Sage discuss and joke about all thing’s mountain biking. Would you date a mountain biker? Do you agree on our take on group riding dynamics? What's the difference between babyheads vs. rock-gardens? Laugh and comment on more benefits (and drawbacks) of single speeds, MTB dating apps, dirt jumpers, electric toothbrushes and more!
Dan visited the Phoenixville Bike Park with his daughter Ella and had an awesome time. If you want to learn more about the Phoenixville Bike Park visit their Facebook page / pxvbp and if you want to support this worthy mission check out “More Kids On Bikes” www.morekidson...

    MTB Gratitude of the Week
Sage thanks his good friend Jess who hires him for freelance production work. This work really helps to sustain Sage's MTB lifestyle (and channels!). Thank you Jess!
Dan has so much gratitude for his daughters, Ella (13) & Summer (10). After a great day of riding bikes with Ella and then attending Summer's elementary graduation, Dan is just overflowing with gratitude and love for his wonderful children. Life is good! Thank you kids!
    MTB Tip of the Week
Save your old toothbrushes to clean your bike. Manual toothbrushes work better than electric. LOL! Bonus tip - Dish Soap doubles as a cheap degreaser!

You guys made my wife's day! FWIW her name is Kim, she was sitting there this morning when she heard her story being told and just lit up. She's older than me so her chain is definitely a little more rusty than mine 😂😂😂

That's awesome!!! Please send Kim our love, and thank you for sharing that story with us. As for her chain, I won't tell her you said that, lol. Sage

Steve with the Spot Rocker here! To answer a couple of questions, 1. Haven't broken a belt... yet. A rock did flip up and hit a belt causing a nick in one at about 800 miles. I rode it until a new belt arrived, but it held up for another 100 miles. 2. Bike is carbon and definitely flexes under my weight 3. Still going strong with the belt drive, but the availability of components and skipping under max power does have me considering a chain. My son is about to hit the same size bike as me which will change all of my bike math. We'll see what happens then.

The bike math comment had me chuckling. Thanks for answering some of our questions Steve. If you make the switch to a chain please let us know what you think. I made the switch about a year ago and I'm not going back. Sage

Thanks for answering our questions Steve! Sounds like the belt has been really good to you overall. I wonder if you would have broken a couple chains by now!? Hope your son enjoys the old bike while you're on something shine & new. LOL! - Dan

for the record, I am pretty sure Dan said false flat before Sage said it and then was roasted. Seems like he gets a free pass for a future goof up.
