So glad I came across this video. I’m from around Kettering and came across Mark on a local social media page. He’s very interesting, could listen to him talk all day. Seems like he has a funny sense of humour. Great interviewing skills too Freddo - great channel. 👍🏻
Freddo, your contribution with your videos to people with paralysis and mental health is amazing. Thank you that you have the strength and positivity to do what you do.
Fred, your interview questions are so thoughtful and your warm presence as you listen is extraordinary. Such an authentic conversation between the two of you. These videos will help others.
Thanks for sharing and I really like the upbeat positivism of Mark. Back in 2022 I had my C4-C5 SCI injury (central cord syndrome due to compression), recovered really well and although I look like an able bodied person from the outside I still struggle with some of the long terms effects (muscle stiffness, some slight spasms, minor coordination issues and some bladder/bowel things i.e.) Hence this is all very relatable. As I was also not admitted on a special SCI ward in rehab I totally recognize the feeling 'lost and alone' component during rehab but also afterwards, but luckily channels like this and other social media do exist!
So glad you found the conversation relatable and enjoy the channel. There are more great guests in the pipeline and I’m recording another tomorrow. I love sharing these points of view and appreciate nice comments like this ❤️✌️
I stumbled onto your channel, and although I've never had any injury at all like this other than a few broken wrists, it amazes me the resilience and positive attitude. Anyone can take away something from this kind of mind set. Hats off to both of you fellas!
Hi great to see you back on the tube.. thanks for sharing your stories of your lives 😊and how you have overcome adversity and mad life F’ing fate to where you are now xx
i think the sooner you accept it the sooner life will get easier ...i know its easy to say but when my pts are in denial i notice it takes them so much longer to start living again ..please take care ..i dont send pity i send hope and care ❤
Brother I’d love to be a guest sometime. I posted earlier today on your other video. I’m wheelchair dependent for the last 15 years. Although mine is Not from a spinal injury. I have RSD/CRPS in both lower legs. Which took my ability to walk within a week of diagnosis. My legs are so weak from the disease I’ve not been able to walk or even bare any weight on either foot. I too struggle with spasms in both legs quite often. Biggest issue I live with is pain. Huge amounts of pain. I have 3 implants. A Spinal Cord stimulator a pain pump and an implant called a Dorsal Root Ganglion stimulator. I think people could learn from me even spinal cord injury folks cause essentially I’m paralyzed from a Neurological condition that made my legs not work properly and hurt really really bad 24/7. Let me know if you would like to talk to me. I really appreciate your channel and really support what you are doing. Again thank you and well done.
Quick note about ‘inspiration’- generally I don’t have a vocabulary to express the full idea or emotion of what I’m thinking; inspiration is handy word that doesn’t detail what I fully mean. I have a different disability and watching your attitude, approach to the struggles and being open/real is a bright light and a cool breeze. 😎👍🏽 I always disliked the word resilience! Not sure why 😂. Thanks guys-
What terrifies me more than being in a wheelchair and having no leg function is the whole toileting issue. This humiliation makes me think that I would seriously consider self deletion. How do spinal cord victims handle it?
Great question. I’ve been there. My whole channel is dedicated to advice to newly injured folk about handling the situation and the complications that come with it. There are so many videos I could recommend, if you’re serious about the answer then have a browse. Start with “3 years as a paraplegic” The TLDR is that it all gets better with time and what used to be hard becomes much easier.
Thanks guys, you're an inspir...ah, you know what I mean. I've found your videos so helpful, funny and inspir...ah damn it. I got my Motability car 3 weeks ago and have clocked up 1,000 miles already.

This guy's amazing. Very positive. An example for everyone!
Ben here 🫡...He forgets to mention that I had to use my riding shirt as a pillow for him and got major sun burn 🤣
Hey Ben, sounds like you took one for the team! glad you enjoyed the conversation, and glad you were there to help Mark and offer him your shirt. 😊
The real hero here
You two are helping me smile! And adjust my attitude. Cheers!
