@@joco8290 It isn't, I know it's hard to believe but people like Joe exist all around us. Some are harder to spot and some are more toxic. He's just a classic narcissist, he shows all signs of it. For example he comes off as very personable in the beginning of the episode where he wants to show Gordon his farm (very typical of narcissists that's why they are usually hard to spot at first glance) . He puts on a persona of a hardworking ambitious restraunteur but in reality the restaurant functions as his way of feeling better about himself and making him feel important. It's quite fascinating to see, he is deeply insecure but in extreme denial of it as all narcissists are :)
I want a real psychologist explain this guy’s behaviour, because it’s so bizarre with the repeating what Gordon said for no reason, to just everything. What a strange, arrogant man.
I'm not a psychiatrist but he probably has narcissistic personality disorder. If he's anything in his personal life like he is in these videos I'm sure that wouldn't be a far out assessment.
Well, I'm doing Psychology at university, so I'm not a proper psychologist, but it seems to me like he has very strong levels of narcissism. Maybe when he was a child he was overly adored and now if anyone treats him as anything less than perfect, he thinks they're basically spitting in his face. Also the copying is due to (I believe) an excess of mirror neurons. Not sure what you'd call his overall condition but I think it's a combination of many things. To be fair to him, it's also possible he has autism on top of that, so that he genuinely can't read social cues (this would also explain the poor "common sense", which is a trait in some but not all!)
When Gordon said, "I'm deeply sorry your feelings are hurt." 27:43 He was SO apologetic and sincere, I couldn't help but accept his apology even if it wasn't for me lmao
My favorite bit of this whole episode, and possibly Kitchen Nightmares in general, is when Ramsay explains how he knows about elk "Oh you eat it a lot back in Scotland?" "New York. New York." 25:10 He said it with such calm confidence that just highlights how World-Class he is. This is a chef who has multiple restaurants around the world, and his knowledge is top of the class.
In January 2014, Joe from Mill Street Bistrro sued Gordon Ramsay's production company for missing items and damage to the restaurant. He settled the claim for £900 compensation. Mill Street Bistro closed in February 2016 as Joe felt it was the right time to sell up. The restaurant was sold for $140,000 in March 2016.
30:10 The well trained chef that was taught all over Europe is preparing raw meat on a green cutting board made for vegetables when there is a red one right next to it that is for cutting raw meat. You cannot make this shit up.
He might only use green for meat and red for vegetables which is quite weird but not every restaurant runs the same as you’ve probably seen from all these episodes
Who cares about all that I used to cut meat, seafood and vegetables in the same cutting board and all my customers loved the fact that I helped them with their constipation
This episode is absolute cinema! Joe getting absolutely destroyed by Gordon and camera constantly changing to capture the crew's reaction js the best🔥🤣
I like how Gordon respects the staff imagine how the staff felt when he was giving it to him after been treated bad for years then him coming in and proving them all right now
I do in some part agree with him that game can have a certain chew to it, since its not perfectly farmed and cultivated meat. But it shouldnt be tough like that. Personally I like game with a bit of a chew (makes it feel more real), but not like that where its gum. I think the elk wasnt properly hanged after butchering. If you serve non-hanged meat its always tough. Cheaper when you dont hang it though And US laws dont even allow real game. "Game" sold in US restaurants is still mostly farmed animals, not wild catch.
Older Kitchen Nightmares fans: "Hey, i've seen this one, i've seen this one! It's a classic!" Newer fans: "What do you mean you've seen it? It's brand new on youtube."
i know this was posted a long time ago but can we appreciate Gordon making jokes and making the staff laugh every episode? it made me so happy at 13:21 where Gordon was just making jokes and making them laugh.
As a elk hunter I can weigh in a bit on this. Elk is a low fat meat and I have always had a hard time getting it right but I am definitely no chef. Nor do I understand what cuts are better than others and I would be terrified to serve it in a restaurant setting. BUT if done right it’s a beautiful meat. It’s just not worth the risk if you don’t know what you are doing and this guy doesn’t know what he is doing. Why risk losing money and customers just to be able to say you are serving Elk.
@@ajajohnson7984 No kidding, here in BC, Canada, these things at a regular place are shooting into $40~60s. No, I'm not talking about some high-end steakhouse, this is pretty average price around restaurants, (And there will be 12% tax + tips).

*points at a sign clearly stating that they're selling fresh fish*
😂😂😂😂😂
Spelt incorrectly and shit
Legend says Joe is still chewing that Elk today 20:12
He looked like he was trying to chew a golf ball 😂
😂💀
Its Tendah
I know gordon ramsey isn't a bullshitter when he knows what is frozen after a taste.
Imagine getting mad at a chef whos trying to save your buisness.
“I’ve been called you here many a time, so let’s get over the bullsh*t”
“I can cook… Joe”
Lord have mercy, that was cold blooded by Gordon
12:13 When Ramsey said, "It takes about 4hrs to caramelize the onions," you can tell by Joe's facial expression that he had no idea what the hell Ramsey was talking about
At 29:46, the way Joe realises customers can hear him and he just U-turns on insulting his staff is beyond fucked
You’d be surprised at how common this is
@@zezus001 No way, that has to be scripted.
20:56 Amy’s face when she has to tell Gordon that Joe said he was “dead wrong” 😂
dude's lucky Gordon didn't ask him who's that famous European cook he's been working with before
Imagine the gag when the mf doesn't give an answer in less than 5 seconds
@@trulygreg1972 thanks for responding!
Wow psychologists are so cool when describing a person's problems and feelings
It's pure deflection and juvenile style at that. "No, you."
New York." 25:10
He said it with such calm confidence that just highlights how World-Class he is. This is a chef who has multiple restaurants around the world, and his knowledge is top of the class.
29:44
Joe: "I fucken hate u guys"
Customers: "you got customers out here"
Joe: *shits himself*
Also Joe: "I appreciate u guys" 💀
I started dying, the way he just shits himself is hilarious
Its so priceless
When did that Happen
😂😂😂😂😂
The hatred the staff has for Joe is so palpable. 😹
I love how he tries to belittle Gordon for being from Scottish and he just hits him by the fact he has a restaurant in New York
"Get your shit together!"
"You have customers out here.."
"Anyways, I appreciate what youre doing"
THE 180 SENT ME 😂
Imagine if Joe was married to Amy. Be the perfect bread and butter.
Match made in Hell!
Can't wait to see that
Sammy isnt much better
They'd get on like an arsonist and a can of petrol
Or to "Skinny"
In January 2014, Joe from Mill Street Bistrro sued Gordon Ramsay's production company for missing items and damage to the restaurant. He settled the claim for £900 compensation. Mill Street Bistro closed in February 2016 as Joe felt it was the right time to sell up. The restaurant was sold for $140,000 in March 2016.
bruh 900 bucks? lmao
The money is almost more of an insult than compensation🤭🤭
Disgusting ngl
That sale price says a lot.
damnnn
Joe: Our food is the freshest hands down
Background: *takes out food from the freezer*
And heats it up via microwave.
leaning in and whispering "I can cook, Joe." is the most alpha move there
Lol, Gordon whispering:
"I can cook."
I died.
30:10 The well trained chef that was taught all over Europe is preparing raw meat on a green cutting board made for vegetables when there is a red one right next to it that is for cutting raw meat. You cannot make this shit up.
Mmm love that cross contamination! I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't wash his hands either! It's just extra flavour!
He might only use green for meat and red for vegetables which is quite weird but not every restaurant runs the same as you’ve probably seen from all these episodes
Who cares about all that
I used to cut meat, seafood and vegetables in the same cutting board and all my customers loved the fact that I helped them with their constipation
Amy is one of my favourite waitress from the show. She's so polite and seems fun to talk with!
This episode is absolute cinema! Joe getting absolutely destroyed by Gordon and camera constantly changing to capture the crew's reaction js the best🔥🤣
I like how Gordon respects the staff imagine how the staff felt when he was giving it to him after been treated bad for years then him coming in and proving them all right now
I mean they're very happy about it
"That is a tender piece of elk" followed by the shot of Joe struggling to chew it had me dying 😂
Cheaper when you dont hang it though
And US laws dont even allow real game. "Game" sold in US restaurants is still mostly farmed animals, not wild catch.
I'm cracking up at the staff. Amy, chef's waitress enjoyed every single second of the criticism from every course she got to deliver to Mr Arrogant 😂.
20:15 "That is a tender piece of elk" as he uses 100% of his facial muscles to chew the meat 😂😂
😂😂💀💀💀
😂😂😂
He got a jaw dislocation from that elk
He was actually rushed to hospital shortly after filming the episode due to lock jaw from the elk
Fun fact: Joe is still chewing that elk today
💀💀💀💀
😂😂😂
And still chewing in 2023😁
**Chew** Hat pfefe of elk ish fery fender acshually
Chews the elk like tabacca
"I was self-trained by many of the most... European chef..." My cap detectors are going off crazy
My bullfuckinshit meter bout blew tf up hearing that.
Helen Keller would raise an eyebrow at this one
Older Kitchen Nightmares fans: "Hey, i've seen this one, i've seen this one! It's a classic!"
Newer fans: "What do you mean you've seen it? It's brand new on youtube."
What's even more bizarre us that this episode was uploaded 3 times in this channel.
I bet his kitchen nightmares are probably more viewed on TH-cam than anything else Gordon did.
Yeah, well I've seen it... On a re-upload.
@@mysdannie What's a re-upload?

i know right? :)
Chef Mike: *beep*
The way Gordon looked after the staff & gave them a reason to smile for once ❤
Lady: *finds a rock in her meal*
Joe: "He's being so critical"..
20:23 ‘that is a tender piece of elk.’
Proceeds to dislocate his jaw.
i know this was posted a long time ago but can we appreciate Gordon making jokes and making the staff laugh every episode? it made me so happy at 13:21 where Gordon was just making jokes and making them laugh.
*Gordon
But yeah it’s sweet
@@SebastianGomez-ic2fx thank you for the correction 😭
@@ufw.emilyw No problem
Legend says he's still chewing that tender piece of elk.
Gordon: don't you dare!
The goat: yes chef!, sorry chef!
The waitress having so much fun" i quote - tender elk"lmao
The "funeral procession" for the chocolate cake had me in stitches! 🤣
I love how Gordon is with the wait staff. he always treats them with respect because he knows they are only trying to do their job
27:14 Adding in the explosion sound effect is absolutely perfect
As a elk hunter I can weigh in a bit on this. Elk is a low fat meat and I have always had a hard time getting it right but I am definitely no chef. Nor do I understand what cuts are better than others and I would be terrified to serve it in a restaurant setting. BUT if done right it’s a beautiful meat. It’s just not worth the risk if you don’t know what you are doing and this guy doesn’t know what he is doing. Why risk losing money and customers just to be able to say you are serving Elk.
"New York strip $26? Filet mignon $29? Those are some of the most expensive prices around"
Times have changed.
Two years after your comment… it’s even worse smh 😢
@@ajajohnson7984 No kidding, here in BC, Canada, these things at a regular place are shooting into $40~60s. No, I'm not talking about some high-end steakhouse, this is pretty average price around restaurants, (And there will be 12% tax + tips).
If there's no bone, leave it alone.
Right! In only 2 years… I was seeing an older episode last week, the burger menu was 13,95 and Gordon said: it’s expensive 🤣
"I can cook, Joe!" I Love Gordon's comebacks!
gordon being silly with the servers so nice, he's a such a good man
Have you ever seen him prank his staff by dressing up and messing around. The one he does to one of the winners of Hell’s Kitchen Christina is brilliant.
are we gonna talk about how gordons main waitress (sorry i forget her name) literally carried half this episode playing telephone with gordon and joe 🤣
One of the all time most rewatchable pieces of TV ever made
Gordon having fun with the servers and the cake = pure wholesomeness.
I was looking for this comment!! Amazing. Happiest I’ve ever seen him
Whoever runs this channel is a genius for re-uploading this legendary episode!
