I even get requests to sell these rolls. But I know each individual has different results. You can give 20 people the same recipe but each will be different.My Dad use to say it’s all in the hand . But continue to never give up. I have different roll recipes and I am hoping that I will be able to post those. Bread usually sometimes has a mind of its own and I appreciate that you are here.

Dear Laura Lee, Made theses yesterday amazing, SOOO good. After trying 6 times to make roll and all failed, I found you, my mom has passed, but she would approve she was very good at making yeast roll, the only thing I did different was to is add 3 1/2 tablespoons of active dry yeast. When I make this recipe I only need 3 3/4 cups of flour in middle Indiana. I do mine by hand kneeling 5 minute only. Then rest for 30 minutes, then another 5 minute knead, followed by a 2 hour rise. Then I weighed out and form my rolls then let rise again for one hour minimum. I call them Papa Rolls because I feel your loss. Truly a SUPERB recipe.

1 large egg 1 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 c. sugar 3/4 c. or 6oz. evaporated milk 1/4 c. softened or melted butter 4-5 c. flour 1/4 cup of warm water 1 satchet of yeast combine yeast, warm water, and sugar and let rise. When risen, add to mixing bowl and add liquids, egg, butter, and sugar. add flour half a cup at a time and mix. continue to add half a cup of flour until dough is a good texture and stir for 3 minutes. dough should be tacky cut pieces of dough and roll into ball and place into baking tray and allow to rise in warm area until it doubles in size (about an hour) bake at 350 F until golden brown (about 20 min)

I make these all the time now, they are my go to recipe for family events and dinners, my family always compliments how delicious they are. Sometimes I even add a sprinkling of stone ground wheat flour and a squirt of honey, they always turn out incredible!

This is THE BEST dinner roll recipe ever!!! I've tried many and this stands out as the easiest to follow, quickest, and most delicious one yet. The buns are fluffy and soooooo airy. I make two trays as I usually end up finishing off one tray all by myself. Love love love this and can't say it enough. Folks this is it.

Thanks for the recipe! The rolls turned out so fluffy and delicious! I’ve tried other recipes before and didn’t like any, I will definitely keep this one. I didn’t have evaporated milk and used regular milk instead, it worked just fine. I will do 20-24 rolls next time as 15 rolls turned out very big

I have followed other people’s videos on making rolls many times, and none of them turned out right. It was either the texture or the taste. Even after following the directions to a “T”. I made rolls today following your recipe, and your honey butter (only I used vegan butter and ghee combo instead of butter due to lactose intolerance). They came out wonderfully delish, and I thought I was at the Roadhouse! Thank you for a great recipe. Bread and rolls are a big part of the special diet I have to follow. I used lactose-free evaporated milk (Carnation sells it); other than that followed the recipe.

Today I made another batch, only this time I used a combination of several flours (1 cup white all purpose, 1 cup bread flour, 1 cup cake flour, 1/2 cup wheat flour, and 1/2 cup barley).They came out perfect again! I appreciate the technique you showed about how to form the rolls with your hands. I am going to try to make some steak rolls with your recipe. Have you ever tried?

I've never in my life baked bread, rolls etc. Mine where very heavy and very dense. Lol My kids said hockey pucks. Im guessing it was a yeast problem. It did rise but not alot. Im going to try again today with warmer water. Thanks again for your wonderful recipe, I will not quit until I get it right...
Thank you for being here! If you are going to try again you can do an initial first rise for about 1 1/2 to 2 hrs till the dough is doubled To rise for a first rise if you would like. Then form and rise again. When I first started baking bread I did that to get a feel of bread making . You will do great! Keep trying . Dear Laura Lee, Made theses yesterday amazing, SOOO good. After trying 6 times to make roll and all failed, I found you, my mom has passed, but she would approve she was very good at making yeast roll, the only thing I did different was to is add 3 1/2 tablespoons of active dry yeast. When I make this recipe I only need 3 3/4 cups of flour in middle Indiana. I do mine by hand kneeling 5 minute only. Then rest for 30 minutes, then another 5 minute knead, followed by a 2 hour rise. Then I weighed out and form my rolls then let rise again for one hour minimum.
I call them Papa Rolls because I feel your loss. Truly a SUPERB recipe.

1 large egg
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. or 6oz. evaporated milk
1/4 c. softened or melted butter
4-5 c. flour
1/4 cup of warm water
1 satchet of yeast
combine yeast, warm water, and sugar and let rise.
When risen, add to mixing bowl and add liquids, egg, butter, and sugar.
add flour half a cup at a time and mix.
continue to add half a cup of flour until dough is a good texture and stir for 3 minutes.
dough should be tacky
cut pieces of dough and roll into ball and place into baking tray and allow to rise in warm area until it doubles in size (about an hour)
bake at 350 F until golden brown (about 20 min)

I make these all the time now, they are my go to recipe for family events and dinners, my family always compliments how delicious they are. Sometimes I even add a sprinkling of stone ground wheat flour and a squirt of honey, they always turn out incredible!

I've been baking my own bread for years. Just on special occasions. Then the pandemic hit and I was lucky I had a good stocked pantry lol! I am so sick of my recipes! This is THE BEST dinner roll recipe ever!!! I've tried many and this stands out as the easiest to follow, quickest, and most delicious one yet. The buns are fluffy and soooooo airy. I make two trays as I usually end up finishing off one tray all by myself. Love love love this and can't say it enough. Folks this is it.

I’ve tried other recipes before and didn’t like any, I will definitely keep this one.
I didn’t have evaporated milk and used regular milk instead, it worked just fine. I will do 20-24 rolls next time as 15 rolls turned out very big

These rolls are amazing instead of puting the whole 1/4 cup of butter split it 1/8 of olive oil and 1/8 of butter it makes them a little better

But the 2nd time, I got it! They were big, fluffy and sweet. My taste testers want more so I'm baking a batch now. I made rolls today following your recipe, and your honey butter (only I used vegan butter and ghee combo instead of butter due to lactose intolerance). They came out wonderfully delish, and I thought I was at the Roadhouse! Thank you for a great recipe. Bread and rolls are a big part of the special diet I have to follow. I used lactose-free evaporated milk (Carnation sells it); other than that followed the recipe.

Today I made another batch, only this time I used a combination of several flours (1 cup white all purpose, 1 cup bread flour, 1 cup cake flour, 1/2 cup wheat flour, and 1/2 cup barley).They came out perfect again! I appreciate the technique you showed about how to form the rolls with your hands. I am going to try to make some steak rolls with your recipe. Have you ever tried?

I've never in my life baked bread, rolls etc. Mine where very heavy and very dense. Lol My kids said hockey pucks. Im guessing it was a yeast problem. It did rise but not alot. Im going to try again today with warmer water. Thanks again for your wonderful recipe, I will not quit until I get it right...
Thank you for being here! If you are going to try again you can do an initial first rise for about 1 1/2 to 2 hrs till the dough is doubled To rise for a first rise if you would like. Then form and rise again. When I first started baking bread I did that to get a feel of bread making . You will do great! Keep trying .
