  • Part 1 of Honda Unicorn/BRP XR650R restoration prep.
Found a lot of faults including (so far):
    Carburettor
    Rads
    Side stand
    Air filter
    Rear brake pipe
    Oil return pipe
I’m not a qualified motorcycle mechanic, not an expert by any means, just a self taught passionate motorcyclist.
I love giving these old motorcycles a second chance.

Great to see another xr650r being restored in the UK . Greetings from Scotland. Just finished my 2001 xr650r restoration and it passed its MOT test today with no advisorys. Can't wait to get it out for its first ride 😎

Thanks greetings from wales . Glad to see these great bikes are so popular now even more than when they were new I think. Always like that first ride.😄

I think you'r right, someone tried to remove the choke plate and snapped off the screw-head, doesn't snap out of it's own.
I am going through this serie of vid's, nice work!
    I have a '94 XR600R too like your's.

I've got a 2000 that's running but has it's share of small issues. Look forward to watching you solve these and get her running. Sure I'll learn from your attention to detail! Nice watching you work. I've got some videos on my channel of riding mine in California if anyone cares to take a look.

Great to see you taking on a XR650R, I just ordered a workshop manual from the US. I have just watched this episode, so I don't know the end result of your project yet. Looking forward to see the XR on the road again 👍

@@OldDirtBikes It is good shape yes. Well, I'm my book you can't go wrong with an XR, I think it should be reasonable easy to sell if that should be your decision in the future. It is still a good bike for it's age 😊👍
