crazy how underrated gangland is. Bruce's fry screams are ridiculous. what a great song!
Gangland is so underrated in my opinion. The band never cared for it much, but I always thought it was a highlight of the album. It has that great frenetic drum pace by Clive and a soaring vocal by Bruce. It has a nice unconventional structure, and the ending is fantastic. Just slams you in the face.
Great reaction! If you enjoyed the studio versions of these songs, you should definitely check out the live versions, especially Hallowed Be Thy Name. Maiden are great in the studio, but they're even better live 😀
The next album: Piece of Mind is my favorite Maiden album and is frequently called their best.
I've always thought it was better than Number but my favorite 80s album of theirs is Somewhere in time.

I think Sarah is becoming an Iron Maiden fan and a Bruce Dickinson fan. I started listening to them in 1982, the same year as this album was released.
Run to the Hills was a big Maiden song. The first verse is from the perspective of the Native Americans, the verses after, from the European settlers perspective.
Gangland doesn't get much love from some Maiden fans, it almost got replaced by Total Eclipse. I myself really like it.
Hallowed Be Thy Name is probably one of their biggest songs. It's about a man going to his death and what emotions he goes through before being put to death. Kinda the 5 stages of grief. I'd recommend you watch the video from Beast Over Hammersmith version on your own.
Got this album when it came out, I was 13. My favorite album is the next one Peice of Mind.
I've been a fan since 82, Gangland is a awesome song.. It's in my top list of any Maiden.
Number of the beast was my first iron maiden album, it blew me away
I prefer the Live After Death video, better version. It would also be nice for her to watch the promo videos released for the studio songs and the live ones that didn't have video clips released.

Ooh, "cold" is a nice way to put it. They set the stage. The beginning is eerie through the vocal tone and bell. Impending doom. Bruce brought a lot of that out of the group when he joined. Nice reaction!
Gangland was written by my favorite IRIN MAIDEN ..GUY ..ADRIAN SMITH he also wrote 22 ACACIA AVE
Saw them in 1982 when they opened up for Judas Priest at MSG in NYC, Bruce replaced Paul and this was the Bible of heavy metal.
There is an Iron Maiden song called 'Total Eclipse' that was recorded in 1982 but left out of the original album 'The number of the Beast'... It was added to the remastered re-release of the album 🤘🤘
And taken off the next release because it’s not that good 👍

I think,that the best version of this song,is the live version from the live album ''Live after Death'', 1985.All,songs, in my opinion.

Hey Sarah! You forgot Total Eclipse! I know it didn't appear on the album list on Spotify, but the song was discarded at the last minute. That's not to say it's not official, since last year the band made it official on new editions of the album (Steve Harris always said he regretted choosing Gangland and not Total Eclipse). They also played it at the Beast Over Hammersmith concert in '82, that's where all the fans of the band know it (although it was also known from the Best of the B-Side compilation). Either version is valid for you to listen to and react to your channel.

Next album has a new drummer, Clive Burr who was on the first three albums passed away a few years ago with MS, RIP
