Iron Maiden is my favorite band in the world. I have been fortunate enough to see them 3 times and most recently saw them this past Sunday in my hometown of El Paso. All I wanna say is that you guys are in for one of the most exciting shows of your lives. They are honest to God one of the greatest live acts ever.
Just saw them live here in Seattle last night 9-29-22 and they kicked ass! Played all the hits including this as a first of 2 encores. Amazing. Bruce is 64 and stiil performs like he’s 20 somthing. And drummer nicko is 70 now!

So nice to see you react to Iron Maiden. So much humour in the video. I was to a Kiss concert where Iron Maiden was support act. I came very early so I could see how they packed it all out. Then some English guys came and talked with me and they had a funny mask in their hand. When seeing the concert I suddently reconized it was Iron Maiden I've been talking to out side. Paul Di'Anno was front singer back then. But I first become a fan after Bruce Dickinson made his entre. I know you are having a BLAST of a concert
I remember when this came out. Whilst I was not the biggest fan of the new wave of metal/rock that came out at around the same time (Iron Maiden, Saxon, etc.) this track was one of the best and I could not help liking it. Have a great time at the concert!

Drummer Clive Burr left the band after this album and was later diagnosed with MS. He passed away in 2013. He did a great job on the first three albums. His successor Nicko McBrain is also great

I love that you gals comment on the bass half way through, since Steve Harris' s bass playing is so crucial to the songs of Maiden. He was also the founder of the band back in the 70s. Also we we hear Clive Burr on drums here, which for me is the best drummer they had (Nicko is great as well, and fit the band but Clive was totally outstanding IMHO).

This was Bruce Dickinson's first music video and single for Iron Maiden... he was in another UK heavy metal band called Samson, recording 2 albums - 'Head on' (1980) and 'Shock tactics' (1981)... before he was offered the job in Iron Maiden to replace the first singer Paul Di'Anno in '81. Thankfully, the single was a huge success and Maiden's 3rd album 'The number of the beast' hit #1 in the UK and went platinum (1 million copies sold) in the US in 1982... Unfortunately, this was drummer Clive Burr on his last Maiden record; he was replaced in 1983 by current drummer Nicko McBrain... Bassist Steve Harris is the founder & key songwriter of Iron Maiden, so his bass sound is very prominent on Maiden records. Such a Discography to explore, but yes I would utterly confer! This is actually one of my least favourite tracks, although it does make us remember the Genocide of the Native American Tribes. Personally I would suggest you listen to Murders In The Rue Morgue on Killers 2 - They changed the lead vocalist to Paul Di'Anno rather than Bruce Dickenson. The band played so well on this album, OMG it's amazing! Also listen to Prowler from Iron Maiden 2 (1980) sooo rough it's almost early live!!! My personal favourite is Prodigal Son from Killers 2!!! OMG the lead guitar is sublime! I also love Bruce's solo track Chemical Wedding - he's got one of best vocal ranges in Metal, better even than Dio!
@@maximan4363 Paul Day was the original singer from 1975 to 1976 prior to Paul Di'Anno joining Iron Maiden. He recorded the first and second albums with them before leaving the band in 1981- 1982. I have to agree Prowler and Rue Morgue are awesome songs. I also loved Running Free and Remember Tomorrow. Both top notch songs in my book. I also agree that Bruce is an incredible vocalist and his stage presence is amazing. I won't compare him to other great vocalists because they're great in their own rights and for different reasons. I saw just them in Concord, Ca Sept 28th, my 5th time seeing them...as a matter of fact...my 1st time was 1982 Number of the Beast Tour...this tour, Legacy of the Beast tour is the 40 year anniversary of that tour! Up the Irons for LIFE!

I am so glad that you girls got that this song is about the conquering and destruction of North and South American tribes by the English, Spanish, French, and Portugese (sp). congrats to u two for scoring tickets to the IM concert lil ladies! hey, this song hit the radio in ’82, (which I seriously doubt that u two listen to radio even a little bit, if even!) …as a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee’s, it was impactful on me, as well as other native Americans. In my opinion it would run a close second, only under John Wayne. I’ve used it in many conversations about how my Great grands ran and hid in the Smokey Mtn’s., which are part of the Appalachian mtn. chain, when the “Trail of Tears - 1839,” (part of the Indian Removal Act of 1830), began, and removed so many of our tribe to the Reservation in Tahlequah OK., and scores of my ppl died on that trail. My momma moved us to NE Alabama when I was expected, so I was born there, on what was / used to be our ancestral Cherokee lands, but not part of the current EB of Cherokee’s Reservation lands, which are located in Cherokee, NC. I’m still a member, just don’t live on Res. anyway, this song reminds me of the suffering of my tribe under a hostile US gov’t. to me, this song is better than the song, “Half Breed” by Cher, or “Indian Res.,” aka, “Cherokee People” by Paul Revere & the Raiders. I believe I’m partial to “Run To The Hills” because it’s true, honest words, abt. the Cherokee’s, and so many other native tribal ppl, all in one song. plus, it’s just plain bitchin to hear / listen to! great pick and great reaction lil ladies!

Drummer Clive burr died in his sleep on March 12 2013 .. from complications from ms.he had just turned 56 on March 8th.

Such a Discography to explore, but yes I would utterly confer! This is actually one of my least favourite tracks, although it does make us remember the Genocide of the Native American Tribes. Personally I would suggest you listen to Murders In The Rue Morgue on Killers 2 - They changed the lead vocalist to Paul Di'Anno rather than Bruce Dickenson. The band played so well on this album, OMG it's amazing! Also listen to Prowler from Iron Maiden 2 (1980) sooo rough it's almost early live!!! My personal favourite is Prodigal Son from Killers 2!!! OMG the lead guitar is sublime! I also love Bruce's solo track Chemical Wedding - he's got one of best vocal ranges in Metal, better even than Dio!
@@maximan4363 Paul Day was the original singer from 1975 to 1976 prior to Paul Di'Anno joining Iron Maiden. He recorded the first and second albums with them before leaving the band in 1981- 1982. I have to agree Prowler and Rue Morgue are awesome songs. I also loved Running Free and Remember Tomorrow. Both top notch songs in my book. I also agree that Bruce is an incredible vocalist and his stage presence is amazing. I won't compare him to other great vocalists because they're great in their own rights and for different reasons. Check out Still Life on the Piece of Mind album. IMO that's a very overlooked great tune. Have a great day and UP THE IRONS!! \m/

One just does not see Iron Maiden, it is a life altering experience.

I saw just them in Concord, Ca Sept 28th, my 5th time seeing them...as a matter of fact...my 1st time was 1982 Number of the Beast Tour...this tour, Legacy of the Beast tour is the 40 year anniversary of that tour! Up the Irons for LIFE!

I am so glad that you girls got that this song is about the conquering and destruction of North and South American tribes by the English, Spanish, French, and Portugese (sp). And later, after they had established nations on the respective continents, those new nations continuing that trend. Most Iron Maiden songs are history lessons as well. Glad that you two are back, and Up The Irons!!

hey, this song hit the radio in ’82, (which I seriously doubt that u two listen to radio even a little bit, if even!) …as a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee’s, it was impactful on me, as well as other native Americans. In my opinion it would run a close second, only under John Wayne. I’ve used it in many conversations about how my Great grands ran and hid in the Smokey Mtn’s., which are part of the Appalachian mtn. chain, when the “Trail of Tears - 1839,” (part of the Indian Removal Act of 1830), began, and removed so many of our tribe to the Reservation in Tahlequah OK., and scores of my ppl died on that trail. My momma moved us to NE Alabama when I was expected, so I was born there, on what was / used to be our ancestral Cherokee lands, but not part of the current EB of Cherokee’s Reservation lands, which are located in Cherokee, NC. I’m still a member, just don’t live on Res.
anyway, this song reminds me of the suffering of my tribe under a hostile US gov’t.
to me, this song is better than the song, “Half Breed” by Cher, or “Indian Res.,” aka, “Cherokee People” by Paul Revere & the Raiders. I believe I’m partial to “Run To The Hills” because it’s true, honest words, abt. the Cherokee’s, and so many other native tribal ppl, all in one song.
plus, it’s just plain bitchin to hear / listen to!
