Like many people, I consider John Williams among the best film composers of all time. So I cannot wait to see this documentary of this legendary composer.
God I love John Williams. Truly one of if not the best composer out there. He has so many iconic scores. Even in this trailer I had to work to not get distracted by the Jurasic Park theme. Also I only learned this summer that he composed the Olympics music. Like of course he did. No wonder it hits every time.
As a musician (especially a horn player) I absolutely cannot wait for this documentary to hit. I have been playing music since I was 10 years old and there was never not a time in my life when John Williams music hasn't influenced my own love for music....and for my horn.
Hear Hear! Horn players unite! Just wrapped up playing the Olympic theme and onto Harry Potter! People ask "why do you play horn" (vs other instruments)... Exhibit A
As a film student in 1977 I had the great honor to meet John Williams at Glen-Glen Sound on the Paramount Studios backlot. He was there "practicing" a short piece of music's timing with a small orchestra of about 60 members. Guess what piece of black and white film (this is what studios use for technical background uses such as music, special effects and folly work (sound effects) for various departments to "get it right"? Only myself and my College Professor knew what music he was "practicing"......the Star Wars trench scene with Luke Skywalker and R2D2 in the X-wing, flying down the Deathstar trench......Yup, it was quite the day for our behind the scenes tour......this was the kind of tour most studio visitors don't get to see. It was such a thrill I'll NEVER FORGET. Mr. Williams after finishing his short timing recording...came into the sound room and shook everyone's' hands and introduced himself, and as I said , myself and my professor were right in front saying we could hardly wait for the release of the film. Mr. Williams was surprised my professor and I knew about Star Wars, we admitted to being Lucas fans since THX-1138. This being well before the internet, we just "knew people" in the industry. Such a gentleman, and a great talent.
The greatest composer and the greatest artist that has ever lived. His music is the soundtrack of our youth and lifetime. It will be heard for centuries to come. Thank you, John Williams.
On the day (hopefully a long ways away!) when John Williams finally goes to make music on another plane of existence, all the movie theatres in the world should dim their lights as a tribute the same way that Broadway does when an well-known stage actor passes on. No one, absolutely no one has had a more profound effect on the movie industry over the past 50+ years than John Williams.
I had an opportunity to meet him years ago. Los Angeles City College had a tribute event for him. John Williams was once a former student at the college. He was humble and gracious. This documentary will highlight his brilliance in music and give us a greater appreciation for the hardwork that went into creating all those iconic film scores and Olympic themes! Some of my favorites are Superman, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Far and Away, Empire of the Sun, Indiana Jones, and Olympic Spirit!
John Williams is a Legend Hollywood icon for his entire music career to composing the music of All the Hollywood movies like Jurassic Park, Jaws, E.T., Harry Potter, Superman, Indiana Jones and Star Wars, etc
Wanna know the real kicker? The year he wrote the entire score for Harry Potter, he simultaneously worked on two other films. Most composers out there couldn't write what he wrote for Harry Potter if they were given an entire decade of time to do it, and he did it in months while writing other soundtracks. This is why John Williams is one of a kind. He's able to produce lush and detailed scores, full of intricate orchestrations and original ideas, in record times.
No one comes close to the emotions Mr Williams evokes with each score…..He is a master!!!! Thank you Mr Williams for all the shivers..tears….and genuine excitement with each musical note..♥️🎶✨
John Williams is the Mozart of our generation. Of all the movie music ever written by composers, none come closes to what John Williams has written. He has a style unlike any other. You have a director who is telling a story visually, and then you have John Williams, who retells it musically. You put the two together, and you have a masterpiece of a film. With John's music, you get more scope for the imagination. I could take John Williams' music, listen to the music by itself, and know perfectly where I am in the film it accompanies.

So over the moon they’re doing this. John Williams is one of my heroes! I had the pleasure of seeing him and Spielberg at a concert fundraiser at the Atlanta Symphony. John played the music to movie scenes while Spielberg set up how the scene and music came about. It was magical!
Been a long time waiting for this. I really want to hear how John went from Jazz musician to scoring TV shows like Land of the Giants and Lost in Space. So many interviews with him never talk about his early work its always superman, star wars, indiana jones, ET , jurassic park and so fourths.

I wish that a show and tribute like this could've been done for James Horner after his death. When I heard James Horner died years ago I waited for the media to give a beautiful send off for him given his equally gorgeous and intense movie music, but that never came and it hurt me deeply because I was a big James Horner fan, just like I'm a big John Williams fan and a big Hans Zimmer fan.
