I also remember you explained Terri's death as a bit of a fuck up because when it panned around after the bus reflection you could see the road closed off with a giant truck for filming. I noticed that the truck was blocking the road when i first saw it, but my take was that there was no way that bus could be going that speed from that direction but DEATH made it so! I prefer my theory.😆

Fun Fact: There were some deleted scenes that led to an Alternate Ending where Alex grabs the wire, but instead of getting knocked off by the explosion, he stayed on and died. Clear would then have his child and basically have a "moral of the story" moment. But the test audience didn't like the ending so they changed it to this one.

The charecters are named after horror legends. Agent Shreck for Max Schrek from Nosferatu, Alex Browning for director Tod Browning (Dracula/Freaks), Terry Chaney for Lon Chaney (Phantom of the Opera), Valerie Lewton for director Val Lewton (Cat People), etc.
What I've always loved about the films was the deaths of the characters are always in the form of twisted and fucked up sense of irony and they died in the order of how they are supposed to. But the series also made people question and fear EVERYTHING.
I honestly feel like this franchise has saved a ton of lives inadvertently. Like you see people saying online "After I saw that bathtub death, I make sure to keep an eye out for pools of water on my bathroom floor". Also, cool detail - 6:46 you can see foreshadowing of how that guy actually dies
It made me worry/overthink about the dumbest stuff when I was younger like "let me not wear this white shirt and wear a yellow one instead since I'm going to be at a bbq later and I'll probably eat a hotdog so just in case I spill mustard" 😂
I would have assumed you'd already seen the Final Destination movies, if only because (in the nicest way possible) you have extremely potent early-2000s energy. On an unrelated note, nice necklace. Anyway yes, the series is all (mostly) great, do carry on
Cabin in the Woods is a good one, one that I highly recommend, but it is extremely meta. There are little things throughout that are references to a lot of horror movies. You've probably seen enough to enjoy it but it wants you to have seen A LOT.
Supposedly the idea was so good that it would have been wasted on a single episode of the X-Files. I sometimes wonder what roles Mulder and Scully would have played in such a plot.

HELLO, SO GOOD TO SEE YOU!! Its been a long time since I've seen any if your videos. This was originally going to be an episode of The X Files, where Mulder and Scully meet a teenager who has the ability to predict people's deaths. It was them decided to turn it into a standalone movie instead.
The first is the best in the series. There are five in total with a sixth set to start filming after the strikes are over. Also, yes watch Cabin in the Woods. Same for Tucker and Dale vs. Evil. You'll have an absolute blast with those movies.
I had a sleepless night of marathoning all the Final Destination movies that were out at the time when I was around 13.. I was paranoid of everything for a few years after
The thing that bothered me mostly about this movie are the people those ungrateful people Alex saved them he doesn't get a thank you he gets dirty looks and treated like a criminal and a monster only one that was grateful was Ali Larter Character and after he saved them on the plane he continued to try and save them after just ungrateful people
The only one that really bothered me was the teacher. Like, on the one hand, I can see where she's coming from, it's the same place as everyone else, and I don't know what her and Alex's teacher-student relationship was like, but like, that kid is your student, don't treat him like trash. It'd be one thing if there was definitive proof that Alex caused that explosion, and I get that it was traumatic, but the mere suspicion of him is enough for her to push him away and throw him to the wolves. Like, I get why but it also just feels very irresponsible as the adult in that situation. Or at least very cruel. I mean they ALL need counseling, and this is a very extreme situation, but seeing teachers shun or treat some of their students, regardless of reason, just always rubs me the wrong way. Like he's just a kid, ma'am, not Ted Bundy.

This movie is so stupid but also hilarious. I always laugh at the scene where where Alex realizes Clear is the next one to die. The whole day, Alex is being stalked by Death who is trying to kill him. However, it isn't until Alex figures out he isn't next, does Death move on to try and kill Clear. I always imagine Death watching Alex and going: "F@*K! I WAS SUPPOSED TO KILL HER NEXT?! HOW DID I FORGET!!"

Ooh Tod's death always irks me because it's the only one of the series where death appears to "clean up after itself". Like it was personal for Alex.

It's so fun to suddenly see an increase of Final Destination reactions. These movies were my... ehm... old-enough-to-see-it childhood :p No, seriously, Final Destination is the very first horror movie I watched and Final Destination 5 was the first horror movie I saw in a movie theater and I'm always really surprised seeing people being shocked by the plane crash killing all the main characters. I thought the premise of the Final Destination series was a little more well known, but leaves us with a fun reaction! YES! Watch the other ones. FD2 is considered to be better than the first and a lot of people love FD3, too (it's so damn iconic). FD4 is universally hated but then we get right on track with FD5 being pretty damn good, too!
Oh, you included my favorite line in this movie! Said by Clear Rivers "No, we are taking you to my dads cabin in the woods. Its only a couple miles from my house." Its just such a weird line?? Like I think it was added later because they had him run from the cabin to Clear Rivers house in a very short amount of time. So they had to come up with some explanation as to why this cabin would be within walking distance from her house. Its just so clunky and I love it.

There is one scene that has become legend in FD2 and pretty much everyone on Earth makes the connection to this movie when they see it in real life or on social media. (No spoilers chat, if you know which scene am talking about give a like or say you know it but don't say what it is so it will give her a genuine reaction to it).
I love Devon Sawa, he was the perfect late-90s boyfriend XD My favourites with him are Idle Hands (another late-90s "horror" movie co-starring Seth Green) and SLC Punk (which stars Matthew Lillard).
It's worth also watching Parts 2, 3 and 5. People will try to get you to watch Part 4 just because it exists, but it's a COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME because it's more of a PARODY of the concept of these movies. For example, at one point, a character's head gets cut off. Another character walks out of the house and sees the head on the lawn, and the eyes in the head turn and look at the guy who walked out and then they blink at him. Don't waste your time with Part 4, but you must watch Part 5 all the way until the end.
it is fun right? first there's the mystery of what is happening. then it's trying to figure out what someone's going to get killed by as the movie throws a shit ton of red herrings at you. then there's the mystery of who's next. and all the RUBE GOLDBERG MACHINE-like ways people end up getting killed. just an inventive and fun horror-lite movie. the thing that really sold it to me tho was the ultra cool shot where sean william scott sees the explosion. then we cut to a wide shot where we see the plane exploding behind them and then like two seconds later, the glass explodes! soooooo cool. not remotely realistic as the explosion would have to be as powerful as a nuke to blow out the airport windows at that distance.... but cinematically awesome!
Saw it in your Q&A you liked heartstopper, so I thought I’d recommend a recent queer romcom movie called “red white and royal blue”. It’s more mature than heartstopper but I loved it so much! You should give it a shot!
The first one is the best, 2 and 3 still quite good, then the last one because incredibly brilliant twist that you sense, but still cant believe they did and executed to connect certain dots as it were. You should also check out the film Devon Sawa did before this, called Idle Hands, incredible young cast including Jessica Alba in one of her earliest film roles, Seth green and Elden Henson who plays Foggy in the Dare Devil series as Devon Sawa's friends. It is a brilliant horror comedy with Cameo of Blink 182s Tom Delonge as fast food server.
"Is it like freak 😵 or something?" I'm not really into FD's brand of accident horror, but they have some pretty good casts (Mary Elizabeth Winstead is in one of them), and Tony Todd is always great. He's a horror icon after Candyman and his deep voice brings a sinister tone to any movie. For some horror comedies with Devon Sawa - Idle Hands (with Seth Green), Black Friday (with Bruce Campbell)
The whole series has some very inventive and gruesome deaths. Part 4 is usually the one most people consider the weakest one. Part 5 has a twist ending you’ll never see coming. I think part 6 is coming out next year as long as the writers and actors strike ends.
It's odd how so many people seem to think that all high schoolers should always look like children when in reality, especially when I was in High school, we typically looked much older than most other teenagers. I was able to buy alcohol without being carded when I was in 10th grade.

You should also check out the film Devon Sawa did before this, called Idle Hands, incredible young cast including Jessica Alba in one of her earliest film roles, Seth green and Elden Henson who plays Foggy in the Dare Devil series as Devon Sawa's friends. It is a brilliant horror comedy with Cameo of Blink 182s Tom Delonge as fast food server.

I'm not really into FD's brand of accident horror, but they have some pretty good casts (Mary Elizabeth Winstead is in one of them), and Tony Todd is always great. He's a horror icon after Candyman and his deep voice brings a sinister tone to any movie.

The whole series has some very inventive and gruesome deaths. Part 4 is usually the one most people consider the weakest one. Part 5 has a twist ending you’ll never see coming. I think part 6 is coming out next year as long as the writers and actors strike ends.
