First movie will make you not want to ride on a plane ever again, second movie will make you never want to drive on a highway ever again, third movie will make you never ride on a roller coaster ever again, and fourth movie will make you never watch the fourth movie again.
Fun fact; Final Destination wasn't the first horror movie to do this concept. There's an 80s horror film called Sole Survivor that follows a woman who survives a plane crash and realises death is still after her. It's more of a creepy slow-burn than a gorefest, but it's worth a watch!
Honestly, the franchise just keeps getting more and more fun, with the opening set pieces becoming more and more elaborate. I know Part 4 gets the lots of hate, but even that has some great deaths. The whole series is lots and lots of fun. Please keep going.
I watched Final Destination 3 back when I was like 14 with my friends. It's such a good franchise to just watch with your mates because it's ridiculous, hilarious and "horrifying".
i watched it on tv once and didn’t even know it was the 3rd one and when i went on a fd binge i was low key shocked that the deaths were WAY gorier in the actual movie than on tv
Thought I'd share this one from IMDB: Most characters in the film are named after filmmakers or stars from black and white horror films: Terry Chaney (named after (Lon Chaney); Tod Waggner (named after director George Waggner); Alex Browning (named after director Tod Browning); Larry Murnau, (named after director F.W. Murnau, who directed the first "Dracula" film Nosferatu (1922)); Agent Schreck (Max Schreck also starred in Nosferatu); Blake Dreyer (named after Carl Theodor Dreyer, who directed Vampyr (1932)); Howard Siegel (named after director Don Siegel, who directed "Dirty Harry" (1971)); Billy Hitchcock, whose name pays homage to Alfred Hitchcock; and Valerie Lewton is named after horror film producer Val Lewton.
I'm going to have to get around to watching that sometime soon. I really can't imagine him being in a more iconic role than Candyman. He is excellent in pretty much everything else I've seen him in.
Stoked you guys are on these, its low key one of my favorite franchises. These definitely get better as they go, the big set piece in FD2 is probably one of my favorite set pieces of the early 00s.
Fun fact, there was a line of tie-in books for this franchise that are almost impossible to find for cheap nowadays. One of them featured the driver of the bus that hit that one girl (lost his job afterwards, natch) and another featured Sherlock Holmes of all people.
I remember watching this at a friends house shortly after it came out, no idea what it was about, not even the genre, and I remember so vividly the scene where the plane exploded in the sky while they're all watching from the terminal . It freaked me the fuck out
I love when Tod's scene comes, they start going like "He's gonna slip. Oh, he's gonna get chopped by the fan" and I went "hahahaha they get it already, that's the whole spirit" xD
I think I've seen a few of the sequels more than the original. The roller coaster, the freeway pileup, the log, the tanning beds, the hospital 🔥 (we don't talk about the pool pump) but that 1st bus is always a classic. And the finale! 👌🏾
The black sheep of the series is The Final Destination (part 4) the acting takes a severe dive compared to all of them, and there's a lot of forced 3D effects because it was shot for 3D which makes for very hokey moments. I recommend continuing the series, the deaths are always quite worth it. Part 5 is the latest that's come out and that was a great return to form too, fantastic tension and better acting than most of the rest. Good to see you guys checking this series out though.
I'll never forget the day I first saw this movie. It was December 2004 I was in Mexico visiting and my dad planned to see a shrine of a saint on top of a mountain to pay respect to the saint. And he took me and my two older brothers to climb this mountain. So after we finally get to the top we climb down and it was pretty dangerous. Anyways we get to my grandmother's ranch at night and this movie was playing on the tv. It was in Spanish dub and it made me afraid of death because me and my brothers almost died climbing down that mountain. Every time I see this movie it reminds me of that day.
I love this series so much. FD 2 is by far my favorite because of mature characters and creatively shocking death moments but each film will surprise you
This first film is incredibly nostalgic for me as I was 11 when this came out. It freaked me out entirely & made me petrified of specific things, such as the bathroom scene in particular. I would check everything around me ha. It is well directed, the deaths scenes are super creative and it spawned a fun campy franchise. But the first is the most serious toned no doubt. Great reaction guys!
My husband bought my a copy of Final Destination 3 for Valentine's Day one year. It has some truly amazing sequences involving tanning beds and roller coasters.
The concept for Final Destination was based on an idea/spec script for The X-Files. The creator thought the villain (in this case, Death) was just too amorphous for Mulder and Scully to fight. But Glen Morgan and James Wong, who were part of The X-Files brain trust, liked the idea enough to develop it into a feature film, but there is a trace of The X-Files in there in the characters of the two FBI agents.

"Twenty Two" is the title of episode 53 of the American television series The Twilight Zone - Season 2; Episode 17 - Original air date: February 10, 1961 - SPOILERS - While in the hospital recovering from overwork, Liz Powell keeps dreaming about going down to the hospital morgue in the middle of the night. At the morgue she meets a creepy nurse who says "Room for one more". After Liz has recuperated she is at the airport boarding the plane and is met with a creepy stewardess who says "Room for one more". Liz runs out screaming and we know what happens to that plane.
You two are hilarious 🤣Such honest commentary, well done. Most people are chat-chat-chat-chat all the way through and are annoying. You guys are actually quite witty. Ha 😜
I do a rewatch of this series almost every year! These movies make one paranoid about how they could die.. that’s the true horror! After part 2 came out I now never drive behind a truck with logs! haha
I commented above basically the same thing about logging trucks!! I start sweating, panicking & my butthole puckers if I see one anywhere near me when I’m driving!!
This franchise is always a blast! I don't know what's next on your list of horror movies, but if you guys want to react to foreign horror, I would love to recommend "Under the Shadow" from 2016. Such a nice little spooky horror movie!
Watching this movie as a child has scarred me for life, i have never gotten on a plane because its scares me so much , even though I know its not going to blow up. 31 years old and im just like so scarred by this movie lol
This was one of my favorite concepts of any franchise in the 2000s. I've only seen the first 3 films and not 4-6. There are 2 different series of literature (novels & comics) and i read the comic series, Final Destination:Spring Break from 2007. One true thing to take away from this, fate is unavoidable. Just gotta learn to accept it.
In fact, in every movie there are hints who will die how and because of what, for example, a toy plane is shown at the beginning, Alex sees the number 666 above the plane ramp and many different details...Shirley Walker wrote the music for this film and was also the composer of the animated series Batman 92, the 2nd and 5th parts are my most favorite!
The original title of this movie was Flight 180 and it was supposed to be an episode of The X Files that James Wong was going to do but the script changed and got bigger
This is by far one of my favorite modern day horror films of the millennium. All of them are so good with the exception of 4 lol but they still good movies.
I love this movie. Is it a masterpiece? No. But it's a very unique, cool premise with fun and likeable characters (so yeah, I completely disagree with you there, although I have to admit I have never seen the movie in English, only dubbed in German, so the performance might come off a bit differently) and surprising death scenes. The plane scene in the beginning is still awesome, especially when it explodes after the vision and smashes the glass. Also, I still think the first one is the best, but the others can be fun too.
Death be like “I’m gonna keep giving you clues tho, here’s Tod’s name on scrap of paper, here’s a bus in a window.” Honestly though, this isn’t my favourite final destination movie, I like how it gets expanded on over time.
So many random things make me weary bc of these movies 😂 especially the tanning bed one in the 3rd movie like you said, Tom. I will stay pasty white, thanks! 👍🏼 The second one is my favorite of the series!

It’s already stated, but the concept was written for the X-files, James Wong was a writer for the X- files, as well. Agents Weine and Schreck, kind of sort of displaces Agents Mulder and Skully, if you go back and watch, the dialogue makes sense, as so. I also love that all the character have classic horror film related names. I’m here for fun and creativity over logic and execution, so Final Destination 3 is my favourite and to me the most fun. The title sequence is one of my favourites too. And I loved the DVD concept at the time. I have nightmares constantly of dying on a theme park ride, that and the 5th film features my second huge fear of dying. So I enjoy them all, with the second being my least favourite and it was super fun to see the last two installments in the theater in 3D. Happy Halloween! Thanks for making my Halloween Night! much more fun! Cheers!
Saw this 2 days ago and it's a fun movie to watch on Halloween. It's a very interesting premise and had no idea this was originally going to be a X-Files which makes sense because the cinematography reminds me alot of the x-files.
I remember being blown away by how clever this movie was the first time I saw it, the bus scene is a all timer. Part 2 is entertaining mainly for the gore, skip the rest.
The Twilight Zone episode might be the one where three criminals acquire a camera that takes pictures of an imminent, future event. That episode is really good. Shaun, watch the episode about Talky Tina. It's a kind of a precursor to Chucky.
I saw this film when I was about 15 and I have to say that I was genuinely freaked out at the concept to the point that me and my sister right after watching it were talking in the kitchen and a dish on the draining board shifted and we both freaked out, convinced we were going to die like the teacher! Having watched it as an adult again I can agree with you both about it, but there is an element of nostalgia attached to it for me now. I enjoyed the 2nd film as I felt it continues the franchise well (no spoilers), but after watching the third I lost interest, perhaps because I was now a good bit older by that point.
Great commentary as always Shaun and Tom 😀 you should add Triangle to your horror film list. It has Melissa George and one of the Hemsworth brothers (I think Chris?!) but it's quite twisty and haven't seen many reactions to it on YT xx
Awesome! Final Destination are fun movies. Depending on who you ask usually the first and second are argued for the best. However, Final Destination 5 is an amazing gem for the series and can be argued for the best as well. You could get away with just watching just those 3 movies for a satisfying marathon of Final Destination. FD 3 goes off the rails up to 11 with the original concept and is completely disconnected from the first two but the body horror is fun. The fourth movie is terrible damn near satirically bad and is almost physically painful to watch.
I remember watching this movie and being horrified since my number one fear is riding on an airplane. ✈️ Great movie reaction though. The other ones are repetitive but entertaining.
You need to show Devon Sawa the respect he deserves or Canada will come for you. At least check out Final Destination 2. Also Idle Hands for a fun horror comedy.
Ali Larter (Clear) returned for Final Destination 2 and would later go on to star in the NBC show Heroes as well as playing Claire Redfield in Resident Evil 3 & 4.
14:27 yes! thank you, few people notice, it has always driven me crazy seeing it go from 30 to 60 fps in that particular scene, its uncomfortable, 60 its for games, 30 its normal human vision for movements.
All of these plotlines are Twilight Zone episodes. The airplane crash premonition ("Twenty Two" and a little of "Nightmare At 20,000 Feet" with William Shatner); and there's even one when an army officer attains the ability to see a glow in the faces of those who are about to die ("The Purple Testament"). The Twilight Zone was genius and a Lot of what we see in movies and TV is a direct result of this amazing TV show led by Rod Serling's vision
Rented the DVD way back in the 2000s. In the Special features was the alternate ending. Main character was supposed to die saving the girl. The girl got pregnant and the premonition powers passes on to the baby.
Love your reactions to Final Destination. As silly as it gets I still really enjoy this film. Have you seen Green Room (2016)? If not I highly recommend it to you. Have a good one and take care. 🙂👍

@@Maryana1466 Thanks 😊
Great call. Triangle is brilliant.
final destination is one of those rare franchises where the 5th film is arguably the best
I like final destination 3 the most. It traumatized me about roller coasters but still it’s such a fun horror movie!
Ahh pre 9/11 air travel. When you could smuggla almost anything onboard a plane. 😂
24:29 that is called "the bomb under the table".
First one is classic. But the second one is the same but improves in EVERY way. Top 3 greatest horror movie openings of all time.
"Imagine... drowning in a puddle 🤭" 😂💀
I love the roller coaster scene in the 3rd one because I've been on the real roller coaster they filmed it on haha
Happy Halloween to you, gents, and enjoy that movie.
It's frightfully fun.
I'm a dad like Tom, so every time I hear his baby crying in the background it gives me PTSD 😂
"Imagine drowning in a puddle!" I'm here for the banter
9:39 lol "Tod" also means death in German.
I forgot about idle hands! Does it have a cult following yet?
09:40 "Tod" also means "Death" in German haha
Final Destination 2 is my favorite movie in the franchise.
Yeah fd2 is a better movie
Ali Larter (Clear) returned for Final Destination 2 and would later go on to star in the NBC show Heroes as well as playing Claire Redfield in Resident Evil 3 & 4.
14:27 yes! thank you, few people notice, it has always driven me crazy seeing it go from 30 to 60 fps in that particular scene, its uncomfortable, 60 its for games, 30 its normal human vision for movements.
Great reaction guys. The rest are worth watching, except for 4. That is just awful. But 2, 3 & 5 each have a neat twist on Death's pattern.
"Can a death be more insane than this?" Cue the knives....
If you look closely at Carter after he’s saved from the train you can see that he pissed his pants.
These movies can actually f you up pretty bad if you've been through a freak accident recently. RIP Stiffler. I kind of cared about your character.
0:12 You DO know that the hand gesture you did is very close to the "Ball Tickle" gesture right?
Rented the DVD way back in the 2000s. In the Special features was the alternate ending. Main character was supposed to die saving the girl. The girl got pregnant and the premonition powers passes on to the baby.
Love your reactions to Final Destination. As silly as it gets I still really enjoy this film.
Have you seen Green Room (2016)? If not I highly recommend it to you.
Have a good one and take care. 🙂👍
SOLID Suggestion that I would love to see their reaction to that as well, Rest in Peace, Anton Yelchin
