THE BIGGEST LIE TOLD TO NEW REAL ESTATE AGENTS - KEVIN WARD

  • Go to www.agentturbolaunch.com/ to download a FREE copy of the Agent Success Blueprint. It will give you what you need to build a successful 6-figure business in your first 12 months as an agent.
    This is the biggest LIE told to people who are getting into real estate: ”Real estate is easy and anyone can do it..."
    The truth is, it’s hard! 80% of real estate agents will fail and quit.
    Real estate is hard because you have no salary. You earn from commissions, so there are no guarantees. You create your own structure because you have no boss to tell you what to do.
    The good news is, there is massive opportunity in real estate. The start-up cost is low, and entry is fast. If you do things right, the potential to earn a 6-figure income is more realistic in real estate than from a job you get out of college.
    So, how do you start real estate in a way that will help you succeed?
    Here are the 4 things you should have:
    1. HIGH ACHIEVER ATTITUDE. (Strong self-image, problem-solver, self-starter, enthusiasm in the face of failure). Know how to handle criticism and be determined to push through.
    2. STRONG WORK ETHIC. Take initiative, push yourself every day. You are your own boss.
    3. TEACHABLE MINDSET. You don’t need to reinvent the wheel. Learn from someone who’s already done it.
    4. COMMITMENT TO MASTERY. Commit to being the best at what you do.
    Put all that together and you can succeed beyond your wildest expectations.

    I never finished high school. I’m 3 1/2 years in and it’s still a grind. I’m selling 12 to 14 houses a year. I can see it growing but it’s a hard road.

      DoubleODude VW Garage 12-14 houses a year is great! That is an awesome base pay. Just keep tweaking it to make it better and better. Maybe buy a house to rent out to start. You got this!

    I find the biggest black hole in our industry is the hole between going into school and finding out what it's like to start a business.
    The other black hole in our industry is how to get started when you don't know what it's like to start a business. My training starts right there. Eyes wide open people!

    Speaking the truth coach...as usual! This career is not easy, but it's awesome when you do succeed because all of it comes back to you. Not a boss, not an employer, YOU. If you are the best, you will be rewarded for it. If you suck, you will wash out or you'll wallow in mediocrity forever. You have to be willing to go through the SUCK to get to the SUCCESS and that takes a lot of stamina. People walk into this business thinking a mountain of cash is going to fall in their lap as soon as they hang their shingle. It doesn't take long for them to figure out that's not reality.

    I just became licensed here in Texas and have no RE transactions, yet. However, I have another business, Lawn Care, and I can say that not trying to please everyone, being able to take criticism and Hard NOs are a great way to keep moving forward.

    80% failure rate? That is horrible! It shows you how bad the economy is right now. If 80% of realators are going bankrupt then that is an economic disaster! This used to be an industry where you could make over 300 thousand a year!! What the heck happened to the housing market where 80% of realators are having to drop out!!

    • @delanaveirs3411
      @delanaveirs3411 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Pretty sure your stats are wrong. The #s have not changed regarding % of successful RealEstate Agents. It has always been a Commission job. Most Real Estate agents average selling 2-6 homes a year. But there is also varying reasons Agents drop out. Death, move, child birth & finding a a job that pays a salary. Other careers have similar #s, Only 10% of Hairstylists are still doing hair in 5 yrs from graduating from Cosmetology school,again because it's a commission job.

    • @carle2110
      @carle2110 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i think you got the info wrong! he didn’t say 80% went bankrupt, he said 80% failed, people failed all the time in different businesses, but they failed not because of the economy! they failed because like he said whether they are not willing to do the job required, like he called Achiever mindset, or they do it part time! i get it not everybody can afford to live on a commission based job, but working full time plus real estate is the reason why most failed, everybody knows this is a hard business as a full time job, you can imagine part time? when you are barely available for your clients?

    I became a new real estate agent in August and I 100% agree it is hard. I also work a full time job, so it makes it even more difficult. I appreciate your honesty right off the bat. Too many of these coaching mentors say it’s easy blah, blah.

    • @ShawnBell
      @ShawnBell 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. Anyone who has been successful in life hasn't made it there the easy way. I always tell everyone who thinks it easy..... If it was so easy then why don't you do it? Or don't you think everyone would be a Realtor if it was that easy?

    Hi Mr. Ward. I am currently looking to go into real estate. My dilemma is to go to school outright...or use my veteran status for a discount but be locked into a 1 year aggreement? However, they claim to help get leads, help get you progress, etc. Thanks for all of your wisdom!
