    I own an HVAC company. I think you are talking about a mini split. Lorena has those in her new building. They work awesomely in an area where you can't run ductwork for heating and air conditioning.

      We added a mini split to our garage. Temps can range from teens to triple digits over the course of the year. Makes it so much more comfortable for hubs to work on his car year round.

    Bless you Becky for donating your love of quilting to organizations! Our church has a group of quilting ladies (I participate when I can-not yet retired) that piece together donated fabric and backs. We do the knotting technique instead of the quilting step. Our quilts use to go overseas, but since there is a need locally most of our covers go to the homeless shelters. We also have an organization of quilters whose mission is to make a quilt for veterans in the community. My husband and other veterans in our church were each presented with a beautiful quilt. If I get a chance, I will post a picture on fb.

    When I bought my Lulu, she came with the complete range of Hemmingworth threads. Each spool has its protective platic lid and all arranged in pull out drawers in a cabinet according to colour.
    Each compartment has stickers indicating the colours stored there. Very organized!! Great for the North Queensland sun - everything protected. 🧵🧵🧵

    I don’t pre-wash quilt fabric either, but if I am making masks or something else with it I will serge the edges prior to pre-washing - keeps it from fraying and unraveling. 🙂

    Love the idea that you give away your quilts. Our church group gives quilts and crocheted throws to low income nursing homes. It's a great way to use up scraps and pop with a lot of color. I machine sew down the binding as they will probably go through a lot of heavy washing.

    Love your newsy chats! I had visions of you being in the sewing room all day working on projects, but come to find out that isn't necessarily the case! Nice to know you are enjoying retirement. Love the sweatshirts for your mom. I just finished a sweatshirt today for myself with 3 snowmen. Cold days are happening up here in Illinois and needing sweatshirts again. Take good care - stay safe and well. Hi Keith!

      That may be an option depending on the weight of the plexi glass he can find. I did that for my ruler racks and it doesn't help with floating dog fur unfortunately.

    Becky, once again you were wonderful and you make me smile every time I watch you. By the way, that embroidered wall hanging you sent to Joy was very pretty and I loved the passage on it - very meaningful. Can you tell me where you purchased your supplies of thread and the pattern for Merry and Bright that you will be doing next July? I am going to try and get it done before Christmas if I can still get the supplies ordered very soon. Take care now and God Bless you and Keith. Thank you for your help and keep making the video as we so love watching you and learning you trips and sew a-longs.

    Hey Becky. Totally NOT related to anything we love to do, but you mentioned that Keith sprays around your house for bugs. My husband won't spray, nor will he let me spray, anywhere near our house for fear it will harm Grace (our dog baby who is 10 1/2). What does Keith use? Clearly it's safe for dogs or you wouldn't use it. Another great visit with you. Thanks!

    Regarding washing your fabric, what about shrinkage?

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't worry about it a whole lot. If shrinking makes the quilt crinkly and cuddly, that's fine. I use poly thread on the longarm so things stay pretty much in place.
