Hi Becky! What a fun trip you have planned. Thanks for taking us along--that will be fun to watch. I have a question about the Red White and Bloom embroidery along coming up at the end of April. I've gotten my kit, and I'm getting ready to get my stabilizers, and tape that I will need. The cost is definitely adding up, so I was wondering if I could get away with not getting the orange pop rulers. I also think that the quilting in the hoop might be fun. I have a Brother 2800D that I bought probably 15 years ago, so I don't know if I will be able to do this. I have an 8 x 10 hoop, along with the 5 x 7, and I think a 4 x 4. Have a wonderful week. The Orange Pop rulers are a convenience for centering on blocks that have things on top that would otherwise make a whole ruler wobble. You can certainly make your own templates from those thin cutting boards at the dollar store. I think Karen Brown from Just Get It Done Quilts on TH-cam has a video on them in her Dollar Store hacks. Your Brother 2800D will do just fine!
Love the cart! I've been adding carts to my sewing room. Great storage and very mobile! I have the one behind my sewing table setup with an ironing station right now.

What an exciting trip! When you get to Moscow, ID, you'll only be about 6.5 hours from me! That RV spot is still here for you if you decide you want to see beautiful Oregon! I think we have a few quilt shops around here too! (and we could send the guys crabbing at the coast).
Becky, if you Modge Podge the front of your electric plate they will be washable. Two coats will seal them . I covered the drawer fronts of a chest of drawers with a forest related fabric and coated them with two coats of Modge Podge for my son . It spent 4 yrs at college and lasted 10 yrs. Love your new room.

Getting so excited about the Red White Bloom - my first BIG Kimberbell project. Have everything I need now and have started cutting. YEA! Looking forward to your trips on the "hand stitching". I have the Solaris and I know I'm not using it to it fullest.

Oh so many exciting things happening ... going to love watching all the sewing alongs ..I’m still working on my hubby’s hot rod quilt with the recommended pattern you suggested but as you say Becky fine health is a wonderful thing and it can change within days. I’ve had a terrible health scare and have had to take it easy....been unable to get to my quilt store to get the fabric for the borders etc 😭😭😭So I’m super excited to be going on the road trip with you guys ...only way I’m getting to see anything in the USA for a long while. Just love your in your company Becky. 💐😘
The Brother Dream Machine and DM2 also have a design center. They can scan and turn designs into embroidery.
Same with the Baby Lock versions.
Be sure to go to The Gathering Place in Rupert, ID. It’s only a few miles east of the freeway in Southern Idaho. They even have some large rocking chairs on the porch for husbands and have grocery carts to use in the store. A lady there told me it was one of the best in the state!

Wow your trip sounds great you are going to be in my neck of the woods Moscow ID. I live in Spokane Wa not too far from there. I have been wanting to take a trip down there when things get a little better. You are lucky to be able to go. I hope you have fun. You must sew like lightening! I so enjoy your vlog and amazed how much you get done. How many quilts are you working on now? Just curious how many hours you quilt a day. I am retired too but man, you sew circles around me!😉🤗
Actually, my stitching time at the machine is about an hour. Maybe? I just do a bit at a time, every day (usually) and before I know it, a top is finished. :)

Yes, it's a fabric panel that looks like it is painted. It's from the Barnyard Friends line from Riley Blake. Kind of hard to find online but there are a couple out there.

I’d love to meet up with you, either along your way if you’re going through Boise or even head to Moscow to meet at Rebs quilt shop. I can always get a free room at the casino close by. The Coeur d’Alene casino also has a RV area if your planning a night there. It’s about an hour from Moscow north.
I have a question on the stabilizer organizer I would need to put this under my large table .... it is at 32” would this fit without the rollers if I am going to keep it stationary???

Hi Becky, I have been looking for over an hour for a video on how to applique a label on a quilt. I thought you did one but I can't find it, can you help me please.
My video wad for an embroidered DBJJ quilt label that I sewed into the binding. It wasn't appliqued.
When you are visiting Kim at Kimberbell stop by to visit with Her twin sister Kris at her quilting shop called "My girlfriends quilt Shoppe" there in Logan, UT. I watch her most days at 3 p.m. MDT on Facebook and it's called 3 things at 3. I had never been there, but found her Facebook, when Covid first started.
Totally agree, I was there in November and loved it. Spent way too much money, but no regrets! We’re going back to Park City in about 10 days & looking forward to another trip to see “my girlfriends”. This time I’m going to stop by their Sandy, UT shop nearer to Salt Lake City as well. I’m in “theClub” which offers many free patterns and discounts-well worth the money!

Love your stabilizer cart. I have to hang mine on the wall I have no room on the floor for a cart.
I ordered the material embellishments and the book for the kimberbell sew-a-long yesterday.. This will be my first Kimberbell project. I will have to wait to order the background designs. I’m waiting on the backing and just put my name on the wait list for the rulers. I don’t have an Embrilliance but I do have Premier +2 for embroidery software. So I can’t wait.
I don’t know if I would be telling people the exact dates that I’d be going on vacation on a TH-cam video. I hope you have a house sitter because now you’ve just let everybody know your house is going to be vacant. Thank of safety.
Your decoupage remind me of something I did 50 years ago to a medicine cabinet. And has inspired me to redo the inside of my dog grooming tech box. The fabric is all coming off on the inside and I found some cute dog fabric so I think that would be a nice project.

Do you need Embrilliance if I have a Brother PR-1000? or does PR-1000 have its own?
The embroidery editing ability inside of the Brother machines is limited in what it can do. You can certainly Add a design into one that's already loaded on the screen and therefore "merge" designs, but the editing ability beyond that is not much other than resizing or moving it around for placement changes. So if, like in my Over Handle Kitchen Towel tutorial using a DBJJ design, you can't edit the design itself within the machine. Where I removed the little embellishments on either side of the monogram spot using Embrilliance, you can't do that (I don't think) using the software on the machine. Also, you're limited to fonts on the machine unless you load every purchased font option (size, upper/lower, numbers, punctuation, etc.) on a USB to transfer to your machine to add to a design. For less than $150, the abilities in Embrilliance Essentials is miles ahead of what's on the machine as far as embroidery editing, and will open up unlimited possibilities to add to your embroidery designs. To me, it's worth every penny to create and edit a design on my laptop and take it to the machine to stitch it out. Sooo much easier. 🙂
