A pencil eraser removed the stubborn carbon I had built up, off the lens,. And further more masking tape, or a layer of chap stick applied to the lens, is one way to protect it from the carbon build up while at the range. With the chap stick method it was said to just wipe off when done with a soft, clean cloth or tissue, I learned.
It comes with a couple different size switches and all you do is push the pin out with the included tool, takes a second, don’t have to remove the plate.

the rail on the newer mos models is a little thinner..... i found that out today trying to put an Olight pl-mini valkyrie 2 on it and it just fell right off.... shame cause i love that light.....ill just have to buy some new toys now tho lol
What’s your budget? Stream light Scorpion is a decent , basic entry level. Feyachi makes some really economical reachable lights that come in a kit to mount with a touch pad. But Sure fire is the Lexus of defensive flashlights. And No, I’m not sending you links, FFS.

Only buy flashlights with positive on/off switches (click), not soft circuit board power buttons. Coleman battery guard flashlights would be an example of what I'm talking about. As far as gun lights, I have several TLRs and none of them drain batteries when off. I haven't replaced or charged the batteries in them in years.

Can someone help me out? I mounted this streamlight on my 43x and when it’s on there the slide has a problem locking back it’s very inconsistent it does lock back sometimes and others it doesn’t but I can take the light off and the slide will lock back every single time. I do have an aftermarket slide stop on the gun but it locks back perfectly fine without the weapon light. How would the weapon light affect that?
1. I wonder if you change your grip with the light mounted. 2. Try all your magazines. 3. Try different ammo. 4. Consider different recoil springs. 5. Don’t use the light.

thats terrible advice. it might have been told in jest as a joke, but having a light to be able to quickly get positive identification on who or what you are aiming your firearm at is absolutely paramount, especially in the use-case of a self defense/carry weapon or home defense weapon. always have a flashlight where you keep your firearm, and get a pen flashlight.

Be sure to tighten down the lens cap securely otherwise it can rotate upward to the safe position under recoil. Can cause the light to work intermittently or not at all. From the fully tight position about 1/4 turn puts it in the safe position.
You absolutely do. What if you get into a situation at night? I’d HIGHLY recommend you put a light on your gun. My friend who is a Georgia state trooper made a very valid point to me he said if you’re ever out at night and you need to use your firearm and you have to shoot somebody you better have a light on it because it’ll save your ass in court. The judge can ask how you knew the person was armed and dangerous and you can tell them that you have a light on your firearm or the opposite. You can have to not shoot somebody because you can see they don’t have anything in their hands or are not a threat.

Even being able to recharge “in the field” is extremely limited. Everyone carries fresh batteries in ten field. Oh and remember using the words “nobody” or even “everybody” is never true. Lenny your legal advice on shooting a home invader is wrong. Most states have castle doctrine laws. Home invaded ? Don’t wait to be threatened, just be sure of who you are shooting.
Castle Doctrines don't allow you to just shoot anyone you don't want on your property. Lenny was absolutely right. You have to have a reasonable belief that you feared for your life.

They're nice but not great. Check out 'Werks Holsters' video on Compact weapon lights. He runs tests on all the lights with his equipment, very informative videos and the reason why I switched to Streamlight on my EDC. I still like Olight tho and use them on my range toys

@@scottweisz The benefit of having a light that extends past the barrel is to prevent the gun from going out of battery if in extremely close defense. Good idea to get a light past the barrel.

That is not a problem for lithium batteries. You can store them for 10 years with no issues and they still will have a charge.

We were taught to keep a flashlight next to our weapon and have one as an EDC.

This light is too bright for indoor self defense. Once you wake up and turn it on you’ll be blinded lol
