      As they stated last peace owned by government was sold at the peak not that lately, so now you cant build anymore there anything new, unless if you sell the house, tear it down and build new, no more available empty land at the peak , so that's the reason of a big demand and high price

    I used to live on the peak (my parents rented a house on an annual rate). The views are beautiful there but just thinking about the huge homeless population of Hong Kong is just more than I can bear. I once went to work with a humanitarian group and it broke my heart to see people living under bridges, unsure of their future. Something needs to be fixed about the terrible management of property and land in Hong Kong.

    This affordability calculation is off, most Chinese people bought properties long time ago or simply inherited from parents. They didnt buy at current price, if they change house they sell old ones to get alot money so its not expensive as the index suggests

    • @rachelcookie321
      @rachelcookie321 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve seen lots of apartments in Hong Kong that are only 2 bedroom. You can’t live in that apartment with 3 generations. If parents have two kids than one kid will have to go out and find a new apartment to start a family in. The population is increasing in Hong Kong so there will always be people looking to buy a house without one to sell.
