@@tomphillips3162 Except, that is not going to happen. Because only a small minority class of people can afford life now. Trying to understand….the residents say an evil landlord is buying up dead and dying businesses…..raising the rents so high no one can afford to rent…..leaving the area to rot…..so what exactly is the end game?????
The end game is new construction. A new mall or shopping center and new housing. What they call gentrification, force the poor and criminals out and make it a desirable location for those that are willing to pay for things.
@@tomphillips3162 Except, that is not going to happen. Because only a small minority class of people can afford life now. This is why there are so many residential and commercial vacancies all over the place, which have been vacant for decades now. If these properties are vacant for decades, exactly when should I expect the "new construction" to take place? Do I hold my breath waiting? I think you know the answer to that question.
@jamescarlson
Those residents is part of the problem. Instead of blaming the street baddies, they're blaming the problem-solvers for the community's demise. Typical woke activists and Democrat voters.
@@tomphillips3162 I think you are right about gentrification, but malls are dying so there has to be more to it.
@@Stomp409 I agree not likely a regular mall, but believe me super rich people don’t buy up all the properties in one area with no plan. The investors have a plan to build housing or commercial property, it’s common sense, logic and history from other area repeating itself. A blueprint developers use to get even richer.
Reminds me of the Walmart that was closed down last year in Portland. Walmart just got up and left. Wise business decision.
I used to work very close to where that Safeway is. On the other side of the street you have Japantown, but on that side, you have the Fillmore itself, which has always been a sketchy area. You should see the park down by that McDonald's just a couple blocks to the south. Even in better times it was a drug den. I can almost imagine how messed up it is there now.
Fun fact: The HQ for Jim Jones' 'church', The Peoples Temple, is actually very close to that Safeway. It's where the post office now stands.
You guys voted for it.
Enjoy your rewards.
They say that the population mirrors its leadership.
Stay in your state. Do not come here.
As a commercial property owner I can guarantee that no owner wants empty spaces. During covid I lowered the rents. I doubt raised rents is what happened here. Most probably did not renew their leases or went tits up
The science fiction films of huge empty cities with towering empty skyscrapers is becoming a reality in California. ☹
Nothing to do whatsoever with the Freemasonic order supplanting Masonic Film makers like John Carpenter to predictively incorporate what they intended to unfold per their plans. The whirled is simply beyond hope. Laziness and apathy coupled with "Smart devices" equates to slow motion suicide. Who stands to benefit from this CLEAR SABOTAGE?
Thank you for your upper Fillmore update.
The Clay theater was one of my favorites to find "hard to find " films😢
I remember going to the Clay Theater too, it was a great place.
I lived up on Twin Peaks in San Fran from 1959 through 1985 when I moved to the north bay. It is sad to see how S. F. has changed.
Leo we cannot believe what has become of SF, LA - CA. Watched her demise for years 😮
2024's Proposition 36 in Calif was too late to save businesses that were plundered to death by shoplifters that faced ridiculously light consequences as a result of the failed Prop. 47, which passed in 2014. Why did it take 10 years to change the law? Will the situation improve?? How long will it take for a recovery???
Merry Christmas Leo 😊😊
Merry Christmas! 🎄
Some stores shut down the carriage wheels leaving the store 🛒
This is what you get when you keep voting the same people into power and expecting better results--then you never learn.
The bad guys screw up places for the good, honest paying customer.
No longer can have nice things in SF.
Bank of America
CASHED OUT!
Soon the entire city will a ghost town. Well done city officials and lawmakers! I don't see ho any of these cities can recover.
Well done indeed! When the plan is to destabilize an area and steal it out from under it's residents, I'd say their plans are going swimmingly! The pride and blind obedience to illegitimate authority is beyond stunning, it's beyond explanation. There, no doubt, will be a resurgence in all of these SABOTAGED CITIES. Sadly it won't be "We the People" reaping the benefits. This is all the clear result of foreign SUBVERSION.
It’s been a looter paradise, in more ways than one.
now amazon wins almost like they knew this will happen
Another sad tale of a society that is completely broken down.
Indeed
I think all stores should be membership only or at a day pass with ID.. That's the only way Costco, BJ's Sam's ECT are surviving
seriously? what a failed empire, what a disgrace to democracy, what a farce of law. The USA is diseased and dying.
Then they will whine no grocery stores. Lowest people.
Seems like old communities eventually crumble. People gravitate towards suburban new construction. Places with drive thrus
Filmore is one of those areas, so it doesn't surprise me. That said, I just went to the Academy of Science at Golden Gate Park and the gestapo was in-force. Clean and Hobo-Free.
Safeway has been UN-Safeway in blue areas for some time.......LOL!!!!!
San Francisco continues to be home to residents despite the prevalence of minor criminal activities. The population is largely composed of individuals who are either affluent, having inherited wealth, or those who are unhoused. The stark contrast in resource availability is evident upon visiting the city. It is advisable to use ride-sharing services for transportation, as incidents of vehicle break-ins are common.
I got out 10 years ago. Here in Texas, H-E-B rules. It’s very similar to Safeway.
Thanks Leo! This is the best channel on TH-cam
Thank you! I appreciate it!
This is so very sad! San Francisco was once a vibrant city and now the life is just gone.
Merry Christmas Leo
Your videos are a preview of what all cities will look like
Happy holidays!
San Francisco is going to become a ghost town
Safeway. Closed now! Building soon to be for leasseee.
The middle class workers who used to shop in all those closed stores can't afford to live anywhere in San Francisco
The Clay Theater closed right around the start of the C0v1d BS...there were rumors someone was going to try to revive it, but...well, you know...
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

@@JinglesforJesus You’re welcome. God bless you, too!
There are so many things I would love to say but YT will just censor me so I will not.
I still miss my Safeway that use to be on Bay St. near Fisherman’s Wharf. Already been a Year and A Half since it closed.
Back in the day it was noted as the hook-up meat market! I used to shop there always packed and finding parking was cray cray. I loved the old grocery & butcher shops on Chestnut St.
@ Hi, I think your thinking of the Safeway which is in The Marina District. That Safeway is still open and you’re right about it being the place to meet people.
My Safeway use to be at The Northpoint Shopping Center at The Corner of Bay and Powell Streets. It was close to Fisherman’s Wharf. Take Care.
Why don't they make it a members only store, that way they have everyone's personal information and no one can enter without swiping their members card.
My cousin works nearby. He has a crazy story almost everyday of someone came in the shop and start breaking everything, acting like a fool, over nothing. Its a very small percentage of psychos ruining it for everyone else. Its stressful on people just working their jobs each day to deal with all this.
