- Splatoon as a series has a very rich world and history. Splatoon has been around for over 7 years now and has grown into one of Nintendo's biggest franchises. Splatoon has arguably the most interesting lore of all Nintendo franchises, and with such rich lore, comes information that most Splatoon players don't know. are inklings bald? like their ‘hair’ is more of a muscle. So that could lead to multiple things: Inklings are bald but they have tentacles covering their bald head; or inklings have their hair come out of their head like limbs. Tentacles are not hair strands, so Inklings are either bald or have feet coming out of their head.

I just want to point out that the ringing phone in Inkblot Art Academy is a pay phone which typically don't receive calls only send them also there are plenty of horror stories that involve mysterious phone calls one example is The Ring, so it definitely fits as a spooky easter egg

One small correction at 19:09 up the exorcist ability actually got buffed coming into the game. It’s haunt, whenever you kill the last person who last splatted you, the respawn punisher effect happens. So I suppose it wasn’t very overpowered considering how few people know haunt does this 🤣

My family is a big fan of a British Soap called Coronation Street, which I find dumb to unsettling. One time, there was a shot of someone playing a game and talking to someone, and I immediately noticed he was playing Splatoon 2 on Camp Triggerfish.
Sadly I have no idea what episode it was.

whenever people mention pearl and marina being implied to be gay for each other in these icebergs, I'm surprised no one ever mentions marina basically writing pearl a love letter somewhere in the official splatoon manga.
That's the one thing that brings them from just 'speculation' to practically semi canon (at least in japan)

The laughs of the statues in Museum D’Alfonsino have more of a backstory than you think.If you’ve ever played Zelda: Skyward Sword, listen to the death animation of the Koloktos. The statues and the Koloktos share the same laugh!

And maybe Wahoo was supposed to be released at launch like Camp Triggerfish but got delayed because they weren’t satisfied.

10:11 Doubt that the Octolings are mind controlled. First piece of evidence, when you finish the Splatoon 1 campaign you get the Octolings eyewear and you don’t get hypnotized, and this one is stretching it a bit but in the credits there’s a piece of art work that shows an Inkling wearing the Octoling’s Eyewear without getting hypnotized while the Octoling is asking for it back. And the third piece of evidence is the fact in Octo Expansion the sanitized Octolings are actually being kind controlled but probably not from the shades but from something else.
14:39 Rizi is probably gonna touch on this later but just in case he doesn’t there’s another unused game mode named 8 Ball where you basically shoot an 8 Ball to another team’s podium. While shooting the 8 Ball has a chance to get stuck. You’ll need to shoot it and whoever shoots it more the 8 Ball goes flying to the opposite side of the team who shot the ball more. This mode got canceled since it was to similar to Rainmaker. Edit: He did touch on 8 Ball so this part of the comment is useless :(
17:50 You also forgot to mention that if they’re in your game you need to stay and keep playing until the octoling leave’s. After that play one more round so they’re not in your plaza. If they’re in your plaza your save file will be soft locked or something and you’ll need to reset your save file. Also to add on the fact that Octolings where supposed to be playable, in an update they added movable mouths so they could animate victory animations and such.
19:51 I personally think this was supposed to be the topic for the Splatfest World Premiere, since the colors matches Pearl and Marina’s colors, and the art for the Splatfest looks more like the Splatfests held in Splatoon 1’s era which shows they immediately started work on Splatoon 2 after finishing up with 1.

In the Octo Expansion art book you can see the internals of the NILS Statue it has the same eyes as the Octarian, and it’s also shooting a laser from it’s eyes like that Octarian. I don’t know why it’s moving, but from what I’m seeing here settles that this guy is the beta final boss in my opinion.
34:04 I think they were planning the fact that they’ll put all Shifty Stations into private battles and then in the private battles you could choose a ranked game mode on a Shifty Station, so that’s probably the reason on why they did made it 5 minutes. But I guess plans fell through, or they could get good placements, or some maps are unfair for some ranked modes, but who knows.

I feel like "Promised Land" was intended to sound biblical (in the Bible, the "Promised Land" iirc is Jerusalem) and honestly Octo Expansion is a pretty explicit allegory for race relations (Cuttlefish literally says "I don't see species," which like. the IRL equivalent is pretty YIKES but I think that's hte point) and a doubled allegory for the biblical stories about freeing Jewish people definitely makes sense given the context we have for the treatment of the Octarians, which is pretty clearly Not Great.

I feel like ShinOcta (the giant unused octotrooper) is more a fit for the blender meat grinder thing in the art book, rather than the sanitized living nils statue.
I’ve watched so many splatoon icebergs and I still learned so many new facts about splatoon lore from this video!
Also, Broadway/Musicals exist in the Splatoon Universe. In Splatoon 2 to the left of the lobby, above Grizz co, there are signs that resemble the Broadway musicals Wicked and Phantom of The Opera. Don't know how Musicals were found by Inkling & Octolings, but that leaves us with many questions. Wicked is based off of the movie 'the wizard of Oz', soo yeah I have many questions.

Weird detail here, but the splatoon 3 logo used in the thumbnail is a fanmade logo from a huge fan project from a couple years ago. They've got gear, bands, new weapons and stages, character customizations, as well as an extensively detailed outline for a singleplayer campaign complete with a new playable race. Check it out if you get the chance, it's amazing

About the shifty station ambiance sound being 5 minutes long maybe they were planing ranked battles for Splatoon 2 on shifty station. Correct me if I’m wrong but I think you can still hear the ambiance sounds on normal shifty station matches but it’s hard because of the music and all of the shooting and stuff.
Agent 3 doesn't have a limiter, which is why she can access all super's and is so generally powerful. That may also be why she does not need an ink tank
Two things:
1. I think Agent 3 having no ink tank might be just because they didn’t want to add one, but maybe they get their ink from the mind control goop? It looks pretty powerful, so who’s to say it can’t supply Agent 3 with ink?
2. Style and Murch don’t actually eat the Super Sea Snails; they’re used as glue to stick gear abilities onto clothing. I think this was confirmed somewhere, but I’m not sure where…

The Empire of Brazil[A] was a 19th-century state that broadly comprised the territories which form modern Brazil and (until 1828) Uruguay. Its government was a representative parliamentary constitutional monarchy under the rule of Emperors Dom Pedro I and his son Dom Pedro II. A colony of the Kingdom of Portugal, Brazil became the seat of the Portuguese colonial Empire in 1808, when the Portuguese Prince regent, later King Dom John VI, fled from Napoleon's invasion of Portugal and established himself and his government in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro. The only other monarchy declared after independence in the Americas was the First Mexican Empire. Unlike most of the neighboring Hispanic American republics, Brazil had political stability, vibrant economic growth, constitutionally guaranteed freedom of speech, and respect for civil rights of its subjects, albeit with legal restrictions on women and slaves, the latter regarded as property and not citizens. The empire's bicameral parliament was elected under comparatively democratic methods for the era, as were the provincial and local legislatures. This led to a long ideological conflict between Pedro I and a sizable parliamentary faction over the role of the monarch in the government. He faced other obstacles. The unsuccessful Cisplatine War against the neighboring United Provinces of the Río de la Plata in 1828 led to the secession of the province of Cisplatina (later to become Uruguay). In 1826, despite his role in Brazilian independence, he became the king of Portugal; he abdicated the Portuguese throne in favor of his eldest daughter. Two years later, she was usurped by Pedro I's younger brother Miguel. Unable to deal with both Brazilian and Portuguese affairs, Pedro I abdicated his Brazilian throne on 7 April 1831 and immediately departed for Europe to restore his daughter to the Portuguese throne.
Pedro I's successor in Brazil was his five-year-old son, Pedro II. As the latter was still a minor, a weak regency was created. The power vacuum resulting from the absence of a ruling monarch as the ultimate arbiter in political disputes led to regional civil wars between local factions. Having inherited an empire on the verge of disintegration, Pedro II, once he was declared of age, managed to bring peace and stability to the country, which eventually became an emerging international power. Brazil was victorious in three international conflicts (the Platine War, the Uruguayan War and the Paraguayan War) under Pedro II's rule, and the Empire prevailed in several other international disputes and outbreaks of domestic strife. With prosperity and economic development came an influx of European immigration, including Protestants and Jews, although Brazil remained mostly Catholic. Slavery, which had initially been widespread, was restricted by successive legislation until its final abolition in 1888. Brazilian visual arts, literature and theater developed during this time of progress. Although heavily influenced by European styles that ranged from Neoclassicism to Romanticism, each concept was adapted to create a culture that was uniquely Brazilian.
Even though the last four decades of Pedro II's reign were marked by continuous internal peace and economic prosperity, he had no desire to see the monarchy survive beyond his lifetime and made no effort to maintain support for the institution. The next in line to the throne was his daughter Isabel, but neither Pedro II nor the ruling classes considered a female monarch acceptable. Lacking any viable heir, the Empire's political leaders saw no reason to defend the monarchy. After a 58-year reign, on 15 November 1889, the Emperor was overthrown in a sudden coup d'état led by a clique of military leaders whose goal was the formation of a republic headed by a dictator, forming the First Brazilian Republic.

If I would set my language on Splatoon2 to Dutch, Off the Hook will be called "TentaCool" that's almost the same as the Beta design "Tentacles" of what the band of Pearl and Marina would have been called if Pearl would be an Octoling. Funny they sticked with that in some localisation translations. Though I still play the game in English since the names and texts are much better
For the noise after boss battle in splatoon 1 , I believe they also happen in splatoon 2 story mode and octo expansion which 3rd times the charms and I highly doubt Nintendo isn’t doing on purpose.

Finally, the remake we all needed.
ShinOcta I feel like was intended to be one of the final forms of the planned TarTar boss fight. In the artbook you see a large blender controlled by him, with long sausage-link tentacles, dentures and fake eyes, and a meat grinder. The fact the bullets are shot from far points of the body means they could have been shot from the sausages, with other moves being other parts of it. Tbh I'd love to see someone try to create a functioning version of the boss using ShinOcta as a base, though given the only programming is health and basic moves, it'd probably be a tough order.
