I picked up this game at a store years ago. I didn't know anything about the game. I guess it just caught my eye and I was looking for something different to play. The game surpassed all of my expectations, and I have never regretted buying or playing the game to this very day. I'll admit that the ending did feel a little out of the blue, but I suppose there were vague hints that something like this was going to happen. And that does not even touch on the cliffhanger, where Pey'j discovers a DomZ spore growing on one of his hands. Fortunately, there is a chance of a sequel being made, and the trailers did show that the DomZ spore in Pey'j wasn't all that big of a deal. (Relieved)
I’m sorry to read this knowing where the future was headed. Seeing as I literally also picked up the game on a whim not knowing anything. Never regretted it. And have been waiting for over a decade for a sequel. Much love and respect to you bro

I see many people saying you have to dodge when he's above you but it's also possible to hit him with your charge attack. Just make sure you start charging right after your previous attack.

It's an action sequence in which you always have to respond in time by attacking the boss in the direction he's coming from (or, when he's above you, dodge and attack); if you miss once, he'll hit you and you have to redo the sequence from the start.
Replayed this in celebration of BG&E2 and I forgot how ridiculous the final boss was lol. When the controls were inverted, I just played with my controller upside down and it was a bit easier.. CANT WAIT FOR THE NEW ONE COMING OUT
What's so funny? The pig does have some kind of alien infection. Maybe if the game didn't make the Factory Mdisk missable and the animal in ice in space missable he'd have been OK though.

As much praise this game gets from it's fans, it also has it's praise from the critics. I can see why everyone loves this so much after I was interested when I first saw it. The game is simple and fun, the controls are right and the game play is very smooth with the cutscenes. Especially on the action scenes when you run from the army. It wasn't a quick time event, you yourself actually had to run and jump through obstacles with the controls you have that's how it's different from other games

The soundtrack, the incredible style and the solid if slightly lacking in innovating gameplay and the short duration just all helped it feel like one of those little gems you think back to years later, and think 'hell yeah, that was awesome.' In many ways, it reminds me of Flashback. Incredible looks, some deceptive looking solid gameplay and a highly engrossing if short tango through a massive universe.
How the hell is this not an ending? She just killed the bad guy and saved the world! What do you need a MGS4 style cutscene with 21 minutes of the characters monologuing about what just happened?
NB: Make sure you stockpile health K-bups before saving at SELENE because there's no more after! However - you can select Double H or Peyj and then open their SAC and gift K-bups to Jade!
Hint: Don't give PA-1s (+1 maximum energy) and K-bups (recover all energy) to your companions, instead give them several Starkos (recover 1 energy) which they'll use as needed.
I hope Double H makes it to the sequel, I would love to have sequences where you have 2 or more companions working alongside jade with different special abilities. It could make for some interesting puzzle or battle sequences. that and Double H's phrase line never gets old.
I had a hard time with this boss fight, but once I figured out what to do in each situation, I beat the whole section in one go. I didn't think of using the super attack with the group of Double H's. I attacked each one after they attacked me, cuz they're vulnerable then.

Like Jade and the Alpha Section Leader. - She is the only people with superpower.
The Real Point here is the Connection to the Final Boss, the Dialouge to an Alien Leader with an fucking Buddha priest like statue Who Controlls it as supernatural fighting maschine. SHAAAUUUUNIIIIIIII!!!! No, Honestly, most Original & most Mysterious Story EVER!!!
I gave up trying to beat it and just watched the ending instead. Between the lack of kcup placements right before the boss and the boneheaded inverted controls I said fuck it so i can cross it off my backlog. Still a good game, though but fair warning the final boss is a real pain if you don't play with inverted controls or haven't kept a stash of kcups.

Actually in the final bit when the screen goes blury and the contols are flipped, I whacked him 4 times, then done 2 - 3 super attacks. Reapeat that twice and you'll win. But you have to charge your attack straight away.
Me and my dad had such a great time playing this game. I'm going to get it on the PC sooner or later so I can play it again and experience waves of gaming nostalgia.
The best line is this movie has got to be "the pig has hidden your origins from you" (smile). So surreal. The ending boss fight was the coolest part of that game, aside from that chase scene earlier. I hope the sequel improves upon the game even more.
This is one of my favorite video games ever. The world they created was so interesting, and basically everything in the game is fun. This boss battle was fun for me, too. It wasn't as hard as other boss battles I've gone through in other games, but that might have been the appeal of it. I actually found it fun to try the boss battle multiple times.

All it takes is a round of 4 strikes but to make that annoying above strike you have to dodge successfully and then hit. Forget the super-do-jo. Not enough time. I brought 30 K-bups. (which you get back after the first battle.)
the final part of this fight you simply beed to dodge every attack and keep attacking without getting hit, the boss health restores as you get hit so the best way to do is to know when to dodge the arial attack and this gets done pretty easily. But yeah the design for this fight was bit extreme for a game that was also meant for kids.

@djklink20009 It's possible, if you die you always get 4 hearts, and that should be enough. All you need to do is "learn" his pattern, and when your blurry the last moment. When he is over your head (the part that is hard) you have to time his attack so when he attacks press the dodge button and move your stick around, then hit him, and do the rest of the pattern, and he will be dead. Thing is, you have to "make" it without getting hit, because if you do, his pattern thing just goes over again

Prepare in advance before even flying to the moon. That's what I did. I bought as many items as I possibly could before leaving Hillys. I had LOADS of K-Bups by the time I got the this fight.
You literally only need to use the inverted controls in two instances in this fight. First the swarm of easy enemies and them the telegraphed boss. Stop whinning.
Wow, I did this boss slightly differently, when he was above my head I quickly aimed up and shot a disc at it. I never knew you could just dodge it. Either way its still the best game I played back on the Ps2 and on the xbox arcade.

Well, the guy was obviously talking about keyboard controls. Back in 2003, few people had a controller for their PC, cause usually you didn't need one. I played BG&E with a keyboard and, well, twas a pain in the ass.
during the game your supposed to collect health upgrades for bigger bar and buy loads of mega health packs, never got to upgrade my allies bar , didnt know how, but he had godmode so no loss :)

Ah I beat this game today! I finally bothered to play my copy properly last week, and it was definitely worth it. I sorta hope the next game's longer and not so stealth orientated [it'd just get repetitive ^^'], but overall a fantastic title. BUT SO MANY UNANSWERED QUESTIONS INDEED! The new trailer didn't exactly help either =P.
This game would have been a lot better for people like me - who are very experienced with fast-paced video games - if there had been a way to increase the difficulty. In this video, the player has amassed 21 full-health-restore items by the time of the final boss battle. There was practically no way he was going to lose. This makes the game a lot less exciting. There should be a setting that reduces the number of health restore items and increases the speed and health points of the bosses.
The original ending was. But when you wait till the end of the credits there is an extra one which shows Peyj breathing really hard and a green thingy (the same one that Double H had on his neck) grows on his hand, then the camera zooms in on it with scary sounds and a moment later, a title says 'THE END'. That actually made me feel scared and uncomfortable.

Probably one of the best original xbox games ever made. i was so happy this came out on 360 arcade.

I played this game back in 2010 but couldn't beat the final boss. I try again this year or next; I'd like to be able to say I completed it even if I used a trainer.
best game people never heard of, period. just goes to show the best aren't always a top seller...
Tbh I like to play this for fun too (like do whatever I want. race, fight, explore, etc)

It may have took me alot of time, but i finished this game like 3 years ago, and man, i loved it when i finished it, so i saved before the final boss fight and killed the boss 3 times, to assure he was dead :D

Prepare in advance before even flying to the moon. That's what I did. I bought as many items as I possibly could before leaving Hillys. I had LOADS of K-Bups by the time I got the this fight.
Dodging to get him to stop hovering doesn't fucking work.
This game is important for me, i played it in the most happy time of my life....
At first, when he sent those Peyj clones to attack Jade, I actually thought that was Peyj coming to help me.
Thank god there's youtube. In my version there's always been some kind of bug/corruption where I can fight the last boss, but can't see the ending.

Inverting the controls does NOT add challenge.

Correction: it adds artifical challenge.
You literally only need to use the inverted controls in two instances in this fight. First the swarm of easy enemies and them the telegraphed boss. Stop whinning.

Wow, I did this boss slightly differently, when he was above my head I quickly aimed up and shot a disc at it. I never knew you could just dodge it.
Either way its still the best game I played back on the Ps2 and on the xbox arcade.
I know. It was freaking scary but the ending in the crypt was inspirational.

Well, the guy was obviously talking about keyboard controls. Back in 2003, few people had a controller for their PC, cause usually you didn't need one. I played BG&E with a keyboard and, well, twas a pain in the ass.
It might be alittle useful but you can just make the controls upside-down.
The buttons will but slight of a problem though.
during the game your supposed to collect health upgrades for bigger bar and buy loads of mega health packs, never got to upgrade my allies bar , didnt know how, but he had godmode so no loss :)
You just had to go into the menu and give your health pack to them.
I never pictured any of this when I started off in the peaceful lighthouse...
for an easier way to beat the boss when ur controls become backwards flip ur controler upsidown

Shiiiiit I forgot this game even exists! I have played it so long ago ;o 2003-2004 maybe... The whole story was something... different than most of games... It was so much fun playing it, collecting the photos, buying better cameras... (thats all I remember really xd)
I'm playing this shit right now. why is your boss battle so much faster than mine? you only go thru the reverted boss above your head twice..when I have to do it 3 times.

Ah I beat this game today! I finally bothered to play my copy properly last week, and it was definitely worth it. I sorta hope the next game's longer and not so stealth orientated [it'd just get repetitive ^^'], but overall a fantastic title. BUT SO MANY UNANSWERED QUESTIONS INDEED! The new trailer didn't exactly help either =P.
This game would have been a lot better for people like me - who are very experienced with fast-paced video games - if there had been a way to increase the difficulty.
In this video, the player has amassed 21 full-health-restore items by the time of the final boss battle. There was practically no way he was going to lose. This makes the game a lot less exciting.
There should be a setting that reduces the number of health restore items and increases the speed and health points of the bosses.
The original ending was. But when you wait till the end of the credits there is an extra one which shows Peyj breathing really hard and a green thingy (the same one that Double H had on his neck) grows on his hand, then the camera zooms in on it with scary sounds and a moment later, a title says 'THE END'. That actually made me feel scared and uncomfortable.
