MSP Guide to Making Money with AI

During a recent Peer Group meeting one of the members asked the astute question: How can WE make money with AI? He was asking more than how can we use AI to make our lives easier because that’s a little more obvious.
We then talked through a few different options, and I put my thinking cap on and came up with this video.
Ultimately, in order to make money using AI I believe that you need to become a bit of a thought leader and teach your clients and prospects some things.
This week’s video is my first foray into talking about AI. Partly as an opportunity to learn more about the technology and become a bit more of a thought leader myself.

I personally don't see AI as any kind of serious revenue generator for MSPs beyond it's own use in helping operate our own businesses (and in that there is significant potential). AI will make it's way into everyone's lives, including our clients as their line-of-business vendors integrate AI into their platforms. Otherwise, I see AI as just another new app that a handful of clients who are remotely interested will learn on their own. And along those lines we might provide some introductory training but definitely not a money maker.

That’s why I made the video. I’m not seeing a direct AI to revenue other than some of this thought leadership stuff. I think it’s smart to understand how AI will help your clients and prospects so you can be the smart person in the room which may set you apart from another MSP.
It could easily be a differentiator for an MSP that can help teach clients how AI will make the client more efficient. Showing the ROI for a client with these tools should help build the relationship. This, of course, presumes the client sees the benefit of having AI tools in their environment.
