I own this and it's pretty amazing. I had multiple issues with my old BF-450 and swapping the mobo fixed all my issues and I have not had any new issues since (2 years)
I recently installed a Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB in the the M.2_1 slot and when tightening the Heatsink plate down it cause the SSD to bend inward towards the board. I contacted ASUS and they said it was a known issue and the only fix is to leave the Heatsink cover off
Ah damn, I'm planning to put the 1TB version in. Does it cause any issues? What did you end up doing? Leaving the cover off or sticking it on and letting the ssd bend?
CurryPowder I currently have the plated mounted but only partially tightened to mitigate the bend. I also removed the heat sink tape from the plate. The SSD is running at peak about 65C occasionally. Eventually I’ll open it back up and apply some a small amount of heat sink paste to get the temperatures below 60C which is optimal for SSDs
@@drtyrobot9761 You could also leave the stock heat sink off and pick up a black heat sink from EK, or any other reputable maker. This wouldn't hurt the look THAT much, especially if you vertically mount your GPU.

It's probably fine by itself. The problem with internal DACs is that they often get fed dirty power due to crosstalk with other components in the PC. Just get an external DAC. From where I am a 2TB SATA SSD has the same price as a 2TB M.2 NVME SSD so choosing which to buy is no brainer. I can't confirm it firsthand, and I don't have this board yet, but in my research on it I have seen that you can use the 2 m.2 slots, fill up every sata port, and get full bandwidth for your first pcie x16 slot for one GPU. The second pcie x16 will drop to half bandwidth if you have a second gpu along with 2 m.2
I’m fairly certain that the first M.2 slot has dedicated lanes to the CPU and the first PCIe slot has dedicated lanes to the chipset. I haven’t found a reliable block diagram of the VIII though.

Where the CPU goes you said a chip is missing. Now after looking their seems to be two cluster types one is 16 and the other 19. The one you have is the same as mine, but if you look at some others it will be differant. What are they cappsittors ? And are they only differant because thats what the maker had on hand that day and it works ? Or did they have a recall and if so which is the recall..I tried calling Asus but talking to a call rep is like talking to my dog, I dont even think they even knew what a mother board is..But that chip is really not missing because every board is like that even mine..Thank you if you could answer....
Short answer is "most likely" If you break down the math formulas ultimately it will all make sense. Asus likes to design the boards so that all 42 components break down to prime numbers in order to avoid creating a calculating paradox. Feedback loops can be dangerous on x570 chipsets. That's also why they're priced higher than other boards.
I bought the Lian Li O11 dynamic XL case and found out I'd have a compatibility issue with the crosshair hero motherboard cause there isn't enough connectors on that board and the USB type C at the front of the case will be unusable, is there anyway around this?
The annoying thing is only 1 USB 3 header on the board, my case needs 2 headers and also has USB c so unable to use 1 side of the USB's... it's obviously not a major but it would have just been nice if they included it or designed some "hub" to have 1 usb 3 header into 2 headers.

This mobo is one of the best on the market. I think you'll be able to use the full speed of nvme
Where to put the monitor
How can i configure the RGB mirror on the side?
The lights on mine stopped working (i have the asus rog crosshair vii tho not the vi) after i put a new HDD in my pc, and my pc wont turn on at all after that, ive tried everything from changing the CMOS battery to reconnecting all the cables. If anyone could help it would be awsome:)
Is it 1200 socket
hey this might seem like a stupid question but do you still need a wi-fi router if you get one of these?
You'll need to get your wi-fi signal fed from somewhere. So yes you'll at least need a modem with wi-fi capabilities (poor solution), or you'll still need a wi-fi router for this motherboard to connect to.
@@Remmustein I have my ISP router and cable from it, can't I just run it into the PC and make the mobo impart wi-fi to all other devices subsequently? BTW thanks for the answer
@@chrisrosenkreuz23 Windows has an internet sharing function. support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/use-your-pc-as-a-mobile-hotspot-c89b0fad-72d5-41e8-f7ea-406ad9036b85
What you’re proposing will work, but you might have some range issues as the antenna on the motherboard will be weaker than the one on a router.
@@Remmustein thanks a lot mate, this really helped me out
Can it take intel or only amd processors ?
AMD AM4 only
ThinkComputers on thx, but what is am4?

Hello Pls Pls Pls answer this question. I am/was/is building my first gaming system. I started in Jan. Figured I would get would I could on sale prices and it was going as planned till covid. So far I have Ryzen 9 3900X, X570 Hero (wifi), 360 rgb all in one ROG water cooler, and 1200w thor PSU. Now my question was and you hit on it and I have asked and asked and no body knows.
Could you please tell me if I can put the internal ssd? I can’t see it on the board
NVMe (SSD) ports both above and below the PCIe (graphics card) slots
Does this motherboard have a front type c header?
yes
Is this motherboard atx? Or is it e atx?
ATX
What happens if u let’s say accidentally press bios reset when gaming for example ?
How would you accidentally do that?
The Red one is1Gig Intel and Black one is 2.5 Gig Realtek
The biggest thing for me is the post code reader.
What size of tower you need for this motherboard
Anything that supports ATX
@@thinkcomputers1 I am fence spending less money get tomahawk or go out crosshair Vlll
I bought the Lian Li O11 dynamic XL case and found out I'd have a compatibility issue with the crosshair hero motherboard cause there isn't enough connectors on that board and the USB type C at the front of the case will be unusable, is there anyway around this?

DOES IT SUPPORT 64GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM , RYZEN 9 3900X & MSI 1660 6GB GDDR6 GRAPHICS CARD ?
Yes
@@thinkcomputers1 All those things support ?
@@shubhajitchakraborty9362 yes.
Don’t bother getting 64gb of ram if are only gonna get 3200mhz go with 4400mhz if you have that much ram budget(much faster)
I need a case for the motherboard , something black with rgb fans pre installed (preferred green) would you recommend anything to me ?
you could get the corsair obsidian 500d RGB se
You can pair it with an Asus rog Helios case that's almost as expensive as the board itself. They're pretty much made for each other though.
Oh, the Helios has rgb lighting in the tempered glass front panel, but fans are black.

Is there a usb type C for front panel connector?
yes
You said 840amps did you mean watts??
My graphic card (Saphire RX5800 XT Nitro+ SE) cover the chipset fan intake.... Bad design... I need to use lower PCIE Slot for GPU...
Will it work with ryzen 5000
Yes

bluetooth 5.1?
The annoying thing is only 1 USB 3 header on the board, my case needs 2 headers and also has USB c so unable to use 1 side of the USB's... it's obviously not a major but it would have just been nice if they included it or designed some "hub" to have 1 usb 3 header into 2 headers.
Gee ask Lian li why they didn’t provide a splitter with their case. Not many motherboards support multiple usb 3.0 headers.
