99% of Tesla hate is from lefties who hailed Musk as a savior until he took away one of their favorite propaganda machines and didn’t bow to the trans depopulation agenda. I want an electric car due to low maintenance. But for a large swath of people, it’s a political topic.
@@MrAdopado Now that you mention it, think about what it covers. A small box for your charging cables and a washer fluid filler cap. That is it under normal operations. Long time Alfa fan but this just hurts. It has nothing Alfa about it. Alfa Romeo should look up “Alpha Motors” and go buy their designs back. Those are legitimate EV Guilias. Thanks for the review. Concise and well presented, as always.
Loved the look of my 1994 Alfa Romeo Spider. Too bad it was always breaking down. Hopefully, those problems will remain in the past by transitioning to an EV drivetrain. Unfortunately… we'll never see it on this side of the pond.
Really like the design of the junior(Milano) totally different to most. Was hoping that Alfa would being out a new Mito but if the junior is on the corsa/208 platform do not think that a new Mito would be in the pipeline. Will look at one when released but will wait for secondhand as will let someone else lose the huge depreciation values at present market rates. Hats of to Alfa for the new junior, looking forward to your driving review. Keep up the great work.
Just a small request the next time FCS reviews a micro electric car. Could you please test whether the micro car can drive up steep inclines? Like, say, a 23% slope? That's how steep my driveway is. None of the reviews of micro electric cars I've seen so far has tested their climbing abilities. Thanks in advance.
Just a quick fun fact: the snake in the AR logo refers to the “Biscione”, symbol of Milan and its noble family (Visconti). So maybe the name “Milano” would have made more sense, but… oh well
Not really make sense because then all alfa's should have named Milano because the Visconti family symbol? Alfa Use that symbol to honnor the town they had their factory and the history of Milano
Every car on the road since the 70's has had a kamm tail. Odd thing to put in the advertising. It's just the little kick they put on the trailing edge of the car, like a spoiler, to help separate the airflow from the car.
During your whole spiel I couldn't help but hear the ghost of Jeremy Clarkson in your quips and delivery. For a while now I've thought of Fully Charged as the spiritual successor to Top Gear in the electric age so it was nice to hear you name-check them at the 12 minute mark. And yes I am aware both Clarkson and TG still exist in some form but they are no longer plugged into the zeitgeist, whereas Jack and Fully Charged certainly are.
In every back seats' leg room evaluation of Jack's reviews; it must be written on the screens that he is 2 metres tall. and than a 1.75 person should sit on the back seats when the driver's seat is adjusted for this "normal" person.
This new Alpha reminds me of a VinFast car, looking forward to see the price though. Hopefully, with this Alpha will churn up a new little 2 seater EV sport car in the future.
I’m glad they’ve made this. Stellantis have done a good job trying to inject individual brand values into each EV using this platform. The Jeep and the Lancia are using the same platform but seem distinctive enough. As someone looking for a cool small car at some stage soon, I’d definitely stick this one on the shortlist though I’d say the R5 might just give all these Stellantis cars a run for their money. Let’s hope it drives and feels like an Alfa.
@@t1n4444 Yeah but I don't consider this simply 'badge engineering'. The Jeep Avenger is a lot different from the Opel Corsa or the Peogeot 2008. With badge engineering you only really got different lights and a grille. In the Jeeps case it's got entirely different body panels, interior layout, traction control system, suspension set ups etc. It's like saying the Dacia Sandero is a badge engineered Clio. Sure it shares a platform and some switch gear but the cars are otherwise entirely different. I always thought this was weird that VW could take platform sharing to the max but no one ever calls an Audi A4 a badge engineered Skoda. Its just badge snobbery.
An electric Alfa Spider 124 and/or 4C would be nice, though I guess that would be a ways in the future because current battery packs are too big for a suitable range.
This guy is a great reviewer, but if the camera guy / crew could generally not film him from a low catwalk-show angle I would be great, as it makes the car look like a toy. 😆 One realises he's tall - that's the point being made. That camera style is also not good for showing the size of a car even with somebody under 6 foot, but this issue is further exacerbated with this presenter. Anyway, good stuff as usual. Had a few Alfas, looking forward to seeing one of these in the metal.
Funny how many channels describe this Stellantis Unibox as "controversial". Apparently that's part of the marketing story they tell in the press material. I personally can't get excited about that new Alfa Avenger 2008, but If anybody Likes the look and feel, Just go and get one. It's probably Not worse than it's siblings.
The thing that annoys me about part sharing is the jumble of fonts on the labelling. The drive selector font is very Citroen. The SOS button is different again, the steering wheel font different again. They either need to standardise or be consistent.
I personally liked the milano. Still I don't get stellantis ev decision. They dhare platforms, sure, thats great and its not a first. But they use the same motor, battery type, placement, size and even overall shapee (and aerodynamics), therefor making cars that have different looks but the exact same statiscs with litle differences between them. Surprisingly, in the US thats not the case, the Jeep wagoneer S and dodge charger dayatona are very different in a LOT of things. In Europe the modt unique stellantis brand is abarth and also maserati If their brands built their concept cars like the citroen oli or peugeot inception that would be very different
Agreed. Now all it needs is a decent name. I’m certain a dozen or more names are better than Junior. If I bought one, I reckon I’d slap a Milano badge on it and call it a day. Would go nicely wut my Italian electric motorcycle 🇮🇹⚡️
"The most exciting dishwasher tablets" 😆😅😂🤣 I propose to rename the Alfa Romeo Junior to Alfa Romeo Milan. This is a traditional, Czech, first name that has been worn by many important people. For example, Milan Kundera the writer, Milan Hlavsa the musician, Milan Knížák the artist, Milan Sobotka the philosopher, Milan Zelený the scientist, Milan Čurda the alcoholic, etc. etc. Alfa Romeo's first ever electric car deserves a more dignified name than such a substitute as the Junior.

Can you imagine the moaning if a certain American brand unveiled a vehicle with panels lining up like at 7:57? Since we are not speaking of them, they will be unveiling the actually most controversial car of the year in August. This, except in the eyes of some Italian bureaucrats, is a nice enough.
99% of Tesla hate is from lefties who hailed Musk as a savior until he took away one of their favorite propaganda machines and didn’t bow to the trans depopulation agenda.
I want an electric car due to low maintenance. But for a large swath of people, it’s a political topic.
it's just the look of the clam shell bonnet/hood ... Fiesta was the same ... and all similar designs ... not wild about them myself
@@MrAdopado Now that you mention it, think about what it covers. A small box for your charging cables and a washer fluid filler cap. That is it under normal operations. Sure, if bad things have happened, you (or a qualified mechanic) dig deeper down under there, but in everyday life that is just... car parts bolted together... and not especially pretty ones.
@@geirmyrvagnes8718 Teslas have lots of space in the front for more than a cable and they don't use a clam shell design ... it's just a design choice. I do like the hatchback design of the Alfa over all.
@@MrAdopado I don't hate the looks of it, as such. You just got me thinking about what is actually under that whole thing. 😄
The front "grille" looks like most of it has been stolen.
It is hideous, isn't it, lol
🤣 Indeed
a shame, should have just stuck to a normal looking one.
Anyone knows the brand of his polo shirt ?
Proper steering wheel, physical buttons, non-intrusive screen are good. The seats are daft and assume so much about who will be sitting in them.
Good that they got the most important thing right: The wheels.
Crikey yes!
Do NOT forget to put on wheels, preferably at the corners.
I know they are all the same platform but if I take my glasses off, this really does look exactly like my Mokka-E. And if its anything like the Mokka, you won't want the more powerful one if you want anything like useful range.
Is Elliot going to review the xiaomi su7? Is he attending the beijing car show coming up?
He is indeed
@@JackScarlett1 thanks!
Long time Alfa fan but this just hurts. It has nothing Alfa about it. Alfa Romeo should look up “Alpha Motors” and go buy their designs back. Those are legitimate EV Guilias. Thanks for the review. Concise and well presented, as always.
As an Alfa driver of 26 years I agree
Slobber, that's a lovely looking car. Always liked Alfas and owned two, both of which I loved. Tempted.
"Road holding" is a literal translation of "tenuta di strada" which is how we tend to refer to grip in Italian.
Do we *need* 20" wheels on what in practice is a city car? Bad ride, 1.200 € tyre changes and inevitabile damage to the rims when you kerb them.
The looks are amazing 🤩
Loved the look of my 1994 Alfa Romeo Spider. Too bad it was always breaking down. Hopefully, those problems will remain in the past by transitioning to an EV drivetrain. Unfortunately… we'll never see it on this side of the pond.
Whoa, Alfas don't break down, they stop to be admired ;)
Love the design but dubious of Stellantis quality
The words “Stellantis” and “quality” in the same sentence could not be any more contradictory 🙅♂️
the rear end rounded snip shape, resembles the Maserati 3200 GT Boomerang' Rear Light's rear , I think. Lovely compact, unit, design.
That’s right and why I didn’t understand the negative reaction about using the name Junior- it’s literally their baby hatch
Poland happens to have some of the most highly skilled workforce and modern manufacturing.
The interior just looks like the all-black clutter fest beloved by all 'performance' versions - why do they think we're all depressive goths?
Because a lot of alfa buyers like that style. If you want a white interior then try VW or Hyundai. Thats the great thing about buying a car... choice!
@@cannavaras - there isn’t - every ‘performance’ version of every model, ev or ice, has a black interior and has done for years.
And it still has an ENGINE START button LOL
Engine - Noun: a machine with moving parts that converts power into motion.
@@cannavarasmotor only needs one moving part ;)
There is also hybrid version…
But where is DNA switch ? They just took Stellantis driving mode selector…
I like it, nice look, really like the interior, overall nice!
Not sure about Jr. as a name. We have a vibrant Italian community here in Australia, so why not call it the Adelaide (Adeladio, Adeladia?) 😵💫
Those wheels on a Giulia would be satisfying imo 🔥
Great work you should host Top Gear
I was not interested in this Alfa at all. Now I want purchase 2 of them.
That's gorgeous. Well done.
Poland is a good country for top level manufacturing!
7:49 "Road Holding" is the english for "Tenuta di Strada", at least by the translation skills of the average italian! 🤣🤣🤣
Every car on the road since the 70's has had a kamm tail. Odd thing to put in the advertising. It's just the little kick they put on the trailing edge of the car, like a spoiler, to help separate the airflow from the car.
"Ingress". I find that "posh word" much nicer and more elegant than "door hole".
Beautiful car
This looks just amazing ❤
During your whole spiel I couldn't help but hear the ghost of Jeremy Clarkson in your quips and delivery. For a while now I've thought of Fully Charged as the spiritual successor to Top Gear in the electric age so it was nice to hear you name-check them at the 12 minute mark. And yes I am aware both Clarkson and TG still exist in some form but they are no longer plugged into the zeitgeist, whereas Jack and Fully Charged certainly are.
Alfa Romeo forever ❤️❤️❤️
In every back seats' leg room evaluation of Jack's reviews; it must be written on the screens that he is 2 metres tall. and than a 1.75 person should sit on the back seats when the driver's seat is adjusted for this "normal" person.
Another JackAd
The car was interesting to me, to replace my e-up.
But in the moment you showed the insufficient rear seat space, the deal was broken.
Yes.
We call it "badge engineering".
The British Rootes Group had this approach over a century ago.
@@Whatshisname346
Hmm ... with reference to Rootes Group you had to be there.
You may not consider the policy as badge engineering but others do.
An electric Alfa Spider 124 and/or 4C would be nice, though I guess that would be a ways in the future because current battery packs are too big for a suitable range.
±7:50 It were allus called roadholding when I were a lad, young'un
That shirt fits the car and the show well.
Work of Art!
This guy is a great reviewer, but if the camera guy / crew could generally not film him from a low catwalk-show angle I would be great, as it makes the car look like a toy. 😆
One realises he's tall - that's the point being made. That camera style is also not good for showing the size of a car even with somebody under 6 foot, but this issue is further exacerbated with this presenter.
Anyway, good stuff as usual.
Had a few Alfas, looking forward to seeing one of these in the metal.
Can't say I love the look... but I love the idea...
If Jack's not in it, I don't want it!
In Europe the modt unique stellantis brand is abarth and also maserati
If their brands built their concept cars like the citroen oli or peugeot inception that would be very different
One of the best looking cars launched recently ❤❤❤❤❤
Agreed. Now all it needs is a decent name. I’m certain a dozen or more names are better than Junior.
If I bought one, I reckon I’d slap a Milano badge on it and call it a day. Would go nicely wut my Italian electric motorcycle 🇮🇹⚡️
"The most exciting dishwasher tablets" 😆😅😂🤣
I propose to rename the Alfa Romeo Junior to Alfa Romeo Milan.
As usual the Jack test told me enough hehehe.
This is the best looking car in its class, but what will the price be, Fiat or Alfa related?
Very fine designed Alfa. Bella! 🇮🇹⚡️
