    I went from a BMW 4-Series to a Giulia Veloce over a year ago - almost this exact spec. My experience has been totally opposite to nearly everything you said (other than handling). The Hornet parts come from this car - not the other way around - though it sounds like you don’t like them regardless. I feel like the interior quality is as good or better than my 4-Series, which was a pretty high spec. In the end, it’s your review, so I get it but I’d encourage anyone who likes the way it looks to drive it for themselves. I loved my BMW, but this is a better car and better value in almost every way. Just sharing my real world experience.

      @@briancolucci536 how fun is it to drive. I may get this model is it ok if it doesn’t have drive assist package and just has the sound package and the volencia package. Plus how fun is it to always drive in sport mode. Is it better then a bmw

    As an owner of this vehicle, I have to join the chorus of voices in the comments blasting this review. It really seems he didnt do his homework on this one. The infotainment really isn't that bad, the auto start/stop can be turned off with the push of a button, and the engine is not shared with common Dodges. The Giulia was co-developed alongside Ferrari with the intention of making the best four door sports sedan in the world. Unless there's something wrong with his test car, unrefined isnt the word I would use to describe the driving experience. I spent the whole video thoroughly confouded by what he had to say about this excellent car.

    Enough already! I've owned my Giulia for almost 3 yrs now and disagree with your driving assessment. This powertrain is NOT unrefined and works well as a daily driver. I find that I use those paddle shifters constantly to keep the engine in the rev band I like. If I had to do it over I'd buy it again. I drive on lousy Michigan roads and find the suspension plenty supple.

    I've had a Guilia for just over 30 months now and I don't recognise this guys description of it at all, apart from agreeing with him about the fantastic handling. He didn't mention anything about the DNA settings, didn't know how to launch the car or how to turn off Start-Stop (which I always do). He did mention the Hornet (which I don't know too much about) but I suspect he is confusing the Guilia with the later Tonale. But if an Alfa doesn't rock your boat, just go get a BMW or a Merc, that's fine by me. I'm very happy with my lovely Lady in Red! 🙂

    The parts bin you are referring to would be the fact that The Hornet is designed and built by. Wait for it! Alfa Romeo and the Hornet gets its parts from Alfa not the other way around as your comment implies. The Giulia had all the things you mentioned first ( 2016). Except it doesn’t use U connect.

    I get GREAT fuel consumption. The infotainment system is pretty easy to use, so dont know what your comment is about.

    Hello there! Very much disagree with everything you said except the styling . This car is not an appliance, it's a driver's car. It's not a luxury car, it's a sports sedan. The parts you referred to as dodge are mostly Alfa that trickled down to other fca//stelantis eventually.. Also you failed to mention the driving modes when you harped on unrefined transmission and engine which is NOT like the ones you find jin jeeps, similar but not the same. The lag is almost non existent in dynamic mode, probably you tried to accelerate in advanced efficiency, which is there for compliance reasons. My binnacle is not loose after 5 years and the one you show is obviously abused or broken by quasi journalist, weekend free loaders with no interest in reporting long term impressions, and more interested in getting quick review views on social media. Please do your research and stop misreporting facts just for sensationalism and quick buck/views.If you are considering this car for it's infotainment value, look into kia or Hyundai, very big screens ..,😢 Very poor review.

    A Giulia Veloce owner here. Have this after 2 BMWs (F-series). This car was made to compete with BMW 3-series (previous generation). Sitting in this felt right at home after BMW. Ergomonics are actually better for my taste than in the F-series BMW. Seats, sitting position and the controls are actually super comfortable, everything is easy to use. Build quality of some of the interior elements could be better but it's not that far off. Can't agree with what you said about the drivetrain at all - it's way better than BMW, the gear box is tuned perfectly to match the engine, it's alweays in the right gear and smooth, and I use it in the city primarily, a joy to live with, and better than BMW, the engine is actually more robust than what you get with a 2-liter BMW, the car feels lighter overall and more responsive than a similar BMW. The infotainment is the weak spot but it's not too bad, there is nothing complex about it, after BMW, the only true complaint is it's laggy. Ride comfort - it's down to the low profile runflat tires, but even then it's still not worse than that of a similar BMW.

    "nasty, rough engine" - wow as a '23 veloce owner i found that remark curious. Poor transmission? - The Giulia is unbelievably smooth and well calibrated. I'll give you the infotainment system call - but as Chris Harris says, if you worry that stuff you're " nuts", certainly in the context of judging a proper drivers' car. Dear reader - the Veloce is very refined, powerful, and yes I've owned Audis and BMWs, and frankly would trade them for the refinement and charisma of this car.

  • @carloslewis8448
    @carloslewis8448 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    They don't plan on improving the infotainment system because this platform is discontinued as of June. I own one these cars and you are wrong about a number of things. The most notable one is the power train. The engines inthe dodge products is a much more watered down version of these engines. The ALFA engines have forged parts. I hate some of these reviews at times because the people who review them don't have their facts in order. You are one of the few that actually bashed a car that has won best car of the year several times...but hey it's your opinion. ❤❤

  • @DesertMav
    @DesertMav 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    Great review. The Giulia still looks great after being around for around 6-7 years, but the platform is definitely showing it's age. What doesn't help is that before prices went crazy, one could pick up a 2017-2018 Giulia for about $20-$25k on the used market. The Quadrifoglio would be the best option to get with this car, but I've heard about how expensive the maintenance is on that car, so this would have to be the model to stick with. I imagine that getting an aftermarket tune will really fix the majority of issues that this motor and transmission face.

    Oooof. I disagree with your assessment of this car. Regarding your launch, you have to left-foot brake to get a decent launch, and, once in 2nd, it's much more fun to use the paddles, which are not "toys" (very strange comment on your part) but the best paddles out there, huge, with a great feel. By the way you need to be in Dynamic Mode . These cars are a blast to drive, and aimed at people who LOVE to drive. The steering is second to none, very precise, with perfect feel, and the cars handle beautifully. So you've missed the point, and I'd almost say there's something missing in you, that you didn't even smile during the test drive. I had to turn it off. No offense, dude, but perhaps you need to find a new line of work.
