    Everything works 100% of the time on my Stelvio. No quirks, no broken stuff, no reliability issues.
    ...and having the Veloce, I also have the same suspension and find it both very comfortable for very long voyages (I've made already some over 1000km trips) as long as we use it with the soft dampers, but also fun for mountain roads or spirit driving with either both soft or hardened dampers.
    For me, part of the charm also comes also from the assurance that the car is ready and trouble free every single time I need it and it has been like that for the past 3 years. ...and despite missing some technology on the interior (we can find that on the Grecale built over the same platform), it has loads of technology put into its driving dynamics. The reduced weight due to extensive use of aluminum (engine, patented suspension, most of the body) and even carbon fiber drive shaft, is distributed 50% per axle with the engine mounted behind the front axle. Even the battery goes back under the trunk because of that. The steering has a very high ratio and benefits from Ackerman geometry for better traction in corners. EDIT, the brake feels different because it's fly-by-wire - easy to adapt too, though. These are examples of the technology that makes this car drive as it drives. Not easy to find anywhere else.
    And it's definitely not on the smaller side for this segment. Don't fall for the narrower steeper rear seat trick! the car is even slightly wider than most of its competitors.

    I dont normally comment on videos because each to their own etc but seriously some of the comments made during this video made me think this chap had been driving a different car to what we saw....The Stelvio is most planted SUV out there on corners etc zero body roll as mentioned by all others, you actually feel like you're driving a two seater sports car not a big family sized SUV so god knows what this chap is going on about....feels sluggish after driving an M3 Competition well of course it would only a small difference of the M3 having an engine twice the size, the Stelvio has the fastest 'standard' production engine out there beating the Macan. finally the infotainment system yes there are better out there but it has everything you need and works well, I buy a car for the driving experience and for the way it makes you feel each time you get behind the wheel not because it has an iPad stuck to the dash, most people spend half their day staring at large screens,why do the same whilst driving

    Probably the best handling SUV in this segment (track times also say so even against the Macan) ...and we can hear the reviewers call it wobbly... I don't know. Seems to me you guys were just not into it.

    I own a 2019 Stelvio which i purchased new. I love the car. It’s fund to drive, great on road trips and quiet at highway speed. There is some turbo lag but i find the transmission to be responsive. The back seat is smaller, but i can fit my dog crate in it so I’m happy. The cargo area is smaller, but i have managed to fit three kids and all their stuff. I appreciate the fact that it has actual buttons and dials. Overall reliability has been good with only an oil leak and sketchy fuel pump, both of which were fixed under warranty. (I live in AZ and the heat breaks down the plastic parts very quickly) Given what i hear about MBZ quality these days (yes I considered buying one), I would say this car might be more reliable and definitely more fun. You will never lose this car in a Costco parking lot, guaranteed.

      Good to know. I also live in AZ (Phoenix)I was considering a Gulia but was concerned about the reliability and reviews particularly because I have to drive to CA and don’t want to be stuck in the desert. I ended up w a jag but maybe my next car would be an Alfa

    If interior space is your priority, you're looking at the wrong vehicle (the Macan is no better). The Giulia/Stelvio are about DRIVING.

    • @miks564
      @miks564 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      But it still offers good enough space for this segment. The rear seats are plenty comfortable for two adults and the boot space is on par with its competitors. It offers the same space as a Q5 Sportback, X4, GLC Coupe, iX4, etc. …which is only 4% less than the boxier versions of those.

    • @rlsedition
      @rlsedition 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@miks564 I agree, but I prefer the size of the Stelvio/Macan SUVs. Most people trade off overt sportiness in their SUV for interior volume and towing capability. Depends on what you're after.

    • @miks564
      @miks564 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@rlsedition The Stelvio does indeed stand out by its dynamic behavior. But it still has roughly the same size as most other SUVs in this category.
      Stelvio l4687mm w1903mm h1671mm
      BMW X3 l4708 w1891 h1676
      Merc GLC l4716 w1890 h1640
      Audi Q5 l4682mm w1893mm h1662
      That’s millimeters in case you need to convert to inches.
      Only the Jaguar F-Pace and specially the Maserati Grecale are significantly bigger.

    I would actually like to have one of these. I don’t care about the technology. It’s a car and I would buy it to drive it and enjoy the drive. I have an Audi SQ5 with almost 100,000 miles on it and never had a problem with it. I am just thinking about getting something different. Italian cars have a history of reliability issues, but many people have had a great experience with this one. If I bought one it would be the Quadrifoglio. I’ve heard 2024 might be the last year and then they are going all electric. I’d never want one of those. Alpha already has problems selling cars and going to just electric could make that worse.

    • @cedricfreivogel3882
      @cedricfreivogel3882 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The reliability issues are from 15+ years ago. I'll drive my third Alfa; I've never had any problems. I've currently got 50k down on a Stelvio, a perfect car. It's much more fun to drive than other SUVs, better looking, and more special.

    • @miks564

      …and there’s plenty tech on the Stelvio.
      It misses ventilated seats, HUD, interior led ambient lighting, 360 camera and wireless Apple CarPlay. The infotainment could be better…
      Everything else can be found there.
      But there’s also a lot of hidden tech that can’t be found on most competitors:
      Lighter than most if not all its competitors due to extensive use of aluminum (even the drive shaft is made of carbon fiber), 50/50 weight distribution because its built over the Giorgio platform with the engine mounted behind the front axle, very high ratio steering featuring Ackerman geometry for better traction in corners, patented aluminum suspension for excellent dynamics, slip differential, Q4 Alfa patented 4x4 traction that allows for RWD driving bias, variable time, geometry and variable rate of valve operation system.
      Brake by wire system for instant brake response when needed
      …and of course it also has all the three letter security stuff the modern cars have these days along with torque control and even level 2 autonomous driving.

  • @miks564
    @miks564 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    My Stelvio is 3 years old and the center console has no tendency to budge or make noises.
    3:43 “This is a plastic” is actually aluminum. ...it does have wood in the Luxury trim or carbon fiber on some more extreme configurations like in the Quadrifoglio.

  • @miks564
    @miks564 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    1:02 ...the beeps the car produces opening or closing can be switched off at the dealer. Mine never beeps. The hands free is an option. Maybe that model didn't get it.
    Again, I don't know how you guys measure the trunk space over there. At 525lts with the rear seat up, the Stelvio trunk is on par with its rivals: BMW X3i, BMW X4, Audi Q5 Sportback, GLC Coupe, etc. It does has 4% less cargo space than the regular Audi Q5, Merc GLC or BMW X3. ...but it even offers 5% more space than the Volvo XC60 or the Macan for example. And no, 525 lts is not less than the 500 lts Tonale.
    EDIT: Definitely not on the smaller side of the spectrum with its competitors in this segment D SUV class.
    ...and it's not small. Measured, it's even slightly wider than its competitors.

  • @miks564
    @miks564 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    10:00 The dampers in D are too stiff and tiring to just cruise around. ...they're specifically for sporty driving. ...and even in normal mode, their behavior is more on the sporty side than the regular SUV. ...Maybe the description of the wobbly felling came having come from the M3 competition.
    Then, you should have picked up the Stelvio Quadrifoglio.

    My biggest issue is the lacking of technology in this car at this price point.

      ...it does miss a HUD, better infotainment, interior led ambient lighting, ventilated seats and a 360 camera. But all the rest, is, can be there like adaptive cruise control, level 2 autonomous driving, traffic jam assist, emergency braking, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, etc.
      The main tech on this car is on its dynamic details.

    I own a 2018 Stelvio fully loaded. This is a drivers vehicle. I will own nothing else until the day I die. These 2 are trying to compare a Ford Explorer to a sports vehicle. This is the most fun grocery getting vehicle you will ever own. Also, I have taken this vehicle across country several times with no issuea. Going to Canada next year. These 2 should buy an overpriced slow ass Mercedes and leave Alpha out of their mouths.

      I 0:02 don’t understand how the brand lends vehicles to people that doesn’t do justice by providing a proper impartial evaluation and review of the car.
