ok, let us all recognize how awfully hard should have been to put this constelation in a stage all at once... God, how I - still - freakin' love the 90s...
@@mummyd1990 Although he's lost my fandom completely ever since he & 'The Other Two' (the ever-gutless Stephen & Gillian) screwed Hooky over completely back in '07 & then recruited the two younger kiss-arse merchants (first Ginger Phil & then Tom a few years later), Barney's actually a very good guitarist in his own right...& of course, we all know that he was a VERY unwilling lead singer with New Order from the outset but following Ian's death & their lack of desire to try to 'replace' Ian with a new singer from outside Joy Division, he was the best option, between his ability to hold a note & do so while still playing his guitar...& as he gained in confidence, I think that Barney did a great job the majority of the time, as the lead singer of both New Order & Electronic (I'd rather forget about Bad Lieutenant completely & I still can't believe that Wikipedia refers to them as a freaking "supergroup"!!)...it's just a shame that Barney's gone completely overboard with the excessively dorky 'Dad-dancing' over the past couple of decades, which looks extra bad when combined with his ever-increasing paunch, IMO. OK, well please excuse the unintended verbosity of this post but once I get started about something about which I'm rather passionate, my loquaciousness is quite difficult to curb...!! PS. And I'll always like & respect Johnny Marr, as he's entirely separate from the entire New Order debacle of '07...
I always used to think of this as my theme tune. I now realise this is the ultimate theme tune for those with imposter syndrome. Always loved this song since I first heard it as a young teen.
I remember getting this on the day it came out and friend of mine asking me what it sounded like. I said "well, it sounds like New Order-meets-The Pet Shop Boys with thirty seconds of Smiths guitar in the middle of it." He looked really disappointed as said "oh, i was hoping for something else!" WHY? Sounds as good today as it did in 1989.
How can three icons from three of the best bands that ever existed do a project like this? For me, who loves them all, it's unbelievable... Here in Brazil, we love The Smiths, New Order and Pet Shop Boys. This Electronic project and this song are timeless. Long live the three super artists
My junior year of high school.. loved this song then and its still on my "favorite" playlist of less than 100 songs now . 100 songs i could listen to over and again.
I first heard this driving towards Palm Springs. Oh a New Order song, then Neil sings... what,.#@ loved it then, still loving “Getting away with it” in 2024
It doesn’t get better than this, as I’ve said before on another video. And as a few people have said below, what a belter and absolute masterpiece. Bought the CD when it came out and it’s one of my favourites.
Amazing song ,great performance;!! I wish have a Time machine for can see at Neil , Bernard AND Jhonny Marr...in at show, Electrónic was the best "combination" of the all times...!!👏🤩
Oh, you'd be surprised. There are tons and tons of "live" performances of New Order and Electronic where they are miming. It's just that the TV shows pressured musicians into using playback music instead of actually performing.
Put it on repeat a thousand times I’d still put it on again absolute perfection ✌️
Look at all those legends together.
Epic!
Anything with Johnny Marr and Neil Tennant will be sublime ❤
Forgetting the lead vocalist here ! Bernard is class

89 Mate
You do know they're miming right
❤
Most beautiful
❤
I get why you said the 90's.....style of music of the 90's effectively began in '89!!!😶
Same
Oh Mr Tennant how I still love you ❤
35 years ago! I'm old.
I love Neil Tennant’s voice! 😊
I absolutely love this band! So excited for the "Best Of Electronic" upcoming vinyl & CD release! 💙
A masterpiece.
My all time favourite song. Massive Pet shop boys fan and going to see new order at Leeds arena next month. Wish i had seen electronic live
Amazing song!!! Pet Shop Boys with New Order!❤❤❤
I want this project back 😭
Me too... One of the best bands
Nah,the only proper musician in this "project"was Johnny Marr.

A phenomenal song and debut album... I wish that we had heard more from Electronic...
3 LPs is still pretty decent!
3 albums, several singles and a best of?
One of the greatest synth pop songs.

Lo mejor de Electronic. La unión de 2 grandes de los 80 nos trajo estas dulces melodias

LOL, that's a hilarious way to describe Electronic, ahaha!
Great tune and top band 👌🏼 My cousin was the drummer in Electronic..Kesta Martinez RIP 🙏🏼
I love Bernard's expressions and movements when he sings (well, mimes here)
The best song in the planet ❤
Sublime

Utterly, utterly awesome......
What a powerhouse side project for all. Sumner, Marr and Tennant. One of the best Pop Synth Albums in a very long time.

They are great, in a simple way

I love you more than you love me...unforgettable moments
This is the 'Power Band' for people who love niche 80's music ❤
The talented Johnny Marr *sigh*
Fantastic... happy days. Love it.❤❤❤❤❤
I was listening to this song on the plane in 1989!
When you have a photographic memory, you remember every single detail as if it were yesterday.
I feel the same vibe when I hear Smooth Operator by Sade, I fell in love with it on a plane ride to Italy in 1984
*eidetic
Oh to be in that studio at the time!
One of a kind.Along with Get The Message and Disappointed, their magnum opus.Loved Electronic from the word go.Still do.

Brilliant. If we could only go back!
São tão bons que não me ocorrem palavras para dizer quão bons eles são.
Just loving this song ❤
Muito boa musicalidade.uma verdadeira sintonia nas vozes.
I was living the dream in college. Finding out about love, life, few cares and good times mostly.
Brilliant track! Superb bass and outro guitar!

Barney is so shy ahhh
Cameraman should have given more love to Marr
They need to bring totps back ❤
Electronic were certainly much better than Revenge (Sorry Hooky).
What song to end the Epic Eighties 😢
How in the world is this 35 years ago?
Imagine being in 1989 and looking at the musical landscape 35yrs previous to this, 1954!!
It was a different world!!
I was born at that time, lucky me....not!
1989...😊
Drums David palmer abc
Pop stars were all so smartly dressed in the 80s.
Deberían volver sin pensarlo, pleasee!!! Goo Electrónic Proyect...!!!👀💪
Did anyone tell the director Johnny is also the band's member?
Deffo for when i die.
Sumner. 2:55
Tennant.
Marr
what an epic line, up
Can’t believe there was no shots of Johnny there. What were they thinking about
Great, great song. But it's so weird for me seeing the main man in the Pet Shop Boys choosing to be a backing singer!
Pet shop boys
is that johnny on gituar?
One of the best songs from the 80’s ….. love it 😊😊😊
Wish chris was in group
Moin
Johnny's voice remains so isolated from the music
They’d be fucked without Neil Tennant on this.
Would have been so much better if they'd gone with their original choice for lead vocalist - Nick Heyward
Dang, I wish they weren't lipsynching :(
it's not a live performance, it's just a lipsync
Ian Curtis is dancing in his grave
Both can’t sing ha
