- Celebrating almost 35 years since Electronic first released 'Getting Away With It' in December 1989, it was wonderful to see Pet Shop Boys' Neil Tennant reunited with Johnny Marr for a live version to close the main set.
Neil was an extra special surprise guest who Johnny brought on stage just for this London show.

So many musicians and artists worked with the pet shop boys, and the electronic album is such a masterpiece album. All the tracks Jonny Marr worked on take each song to another level.

Johnny Marr is the best guitarist in the world (in my opinion) and I've been a fan of P.S.B since west end girls.
I remember hearing the song for the first time in late 1989. The record hasn't aged at all. Still fresh as a daisy. The lyrics really meant a lot to me at the time. I got over that unrequited love. A beautiful song and brilliant lyrics - as always - by Neil and Bernard.

I know, and I won't, sorry about that! I'm often watching the show directly rather than through the camera screen when taking these memento videos, which often increases the 'rough seas' effect unfortunately! Possibly made worse for this one by increased comings and goings of people around us, and singing along with my better half! 😂

I would so have loved to be there! I never understood why they did pull out a tune or two when New Order and Pet Shop Boys toured together. Well, at least I finally got to see the Pet Shop Boys!

The lead guitar is very clean.
It's obviously in the fingers for any guitarist, but having bought a capo, or given a capo after 45 years of playing, and I've unlocked a lot of Johnny Marrs playing, normally on the second fret, and all those Smiths songs suddenly have that sound and feel.
