On the last story she added a few more updates she ended up giving birth December 20th and he missed the birth because he came back the 22nd. Her mom and aunt were there with her as they came back town once they found out he had no plans on not going. She broke off the engagement and moved into her parents house. She didn’t let him meet baby until Christmas Day. His family still think he did nothing wrong and are bad talking OP. He’s obviously apologizing and trying to be there at her parents home. Her mom lets him come during the day and makes him leave at night. His family said they want to meet baby as soon as they return so she’ll probably have more updates when they return cause she’s expecting it to be a shit show.

Yah have to wonder what lies Joe, the ex, might have been telling his parents if they are bad mouthing OP and don't think he did anything wrong. His parents might just be delulu but...ehhh think there are lies upon lies. I'm glad it worked out in that way. I was concerned that the ex might try to forge documents or somehow use the information OP sent to Amy.

As someone who co-parents, I would never think about attending a birthday party for my ex’s fiancé or even his parents. We were together for 6 years and I would never dream of going on vacation with them. That’s their time together with our son and I would want the same consideration when I take our son on vacation.

    • @bellaruloxcoach
      @bellaruloxcoach 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

I really think that he is the dad of baby 2 of the ex wife and that's why he paid the b-day. And just make that all his behaviors towards the ex, makes sense. Bc he doesn't see anything wrong on going on vacation with both baby's and ex. 🙃 Just a theory

    • @alexiatr

@@bellaruloxcoachbut she is making a distinction between the kids. She says her baby and doesn't mention viits, while the other kid is fully integrated in their life, he even has his room. Also she wouldn't have said he paid for her baby, she would have said for his son

The guy who left his pregnant fiancée really got to me. So many things could have happened,
I fell while pregnant and hit the fireplace and I was scared and crying. My husband rushed home from work even though I told him I thought I was over reacting and worried, he didn't care he wanted to be home to make sure I didn't need to be rushed to the hospital ( I was around 32-24 weeks). I was completely fine just in shock but he still worked from home the next day just to make sure I was okay. I couldn't imagine him leaving me for 2 weeks pregnant with the due date looming.
Hope she understands that unless he stands up to his parents and lets them know how serious this situation is, they will continue to downplay her feelings and disregard her while treating her as their baby machine.

    Story 1:
NTA. WEIRDO EX!!! Both hubby AND ex-wife = inconsiderate. SO rude and weird?!?! leave them on their own girl!!
    After Update:
I am sooo proud of OP. And not at all surprised at the "if you don't do ___ then I'm leaving you." I'm always a little confused whenever one of you guys are like "Woah!" when something like that is said, because.. why wouldn't she? What she said after is totally right. If Ex-wife Elena is coming to every holiday, birthday party, is having everything hosted at OP's place for her own stuff, etc. etc. NOW, with NO promises of a different future, in their CURRENT relationship.. what's there to say it won't continue alllll the way into the delivery room for OP?!!?
I think the guy is fucking crazy for the whole "FIIINE FIIINE i'll tell elena you just dont like her and can't stand her. okay?" stuff. but it's also good he said that. because it really shows what type of person he is. It shows that he hasn't listened or cared one bit whenever OP complained or tried to set her boundaries. It shows he doesn't think any of what she said was important. All he hears is "whaa whaa I don't like your ex" when she's ACTUALLY saying, "your ex is everywhere. where are our boundaries. how come you're spending more time on her than you are on OUR relationship." Top Comment from earlier is right. Elena wants him back. and so does OP's now-ex boyfriend. Hope OP is doing great!
    Story 3:
I'm sorry that is soooo weird. NTA. That family of in-law's are a bullet you should be glad to dodge because wtf?
    After Update:
yeah. makes sense. honestly when I was first listening I was like "this sounds like weiiird servant stuff." and then hearing she's biracial, working class.. omfg. get away!!!
She is definitely being gaslit. Turning down a free, home-cooked christmas dinner. Choosing to go to a restaurant. Choosing to go to OP's restaurant. Choosing to go to OP's Restaurant on a day she's working and therefore can't join. Choosing to go to OP's restaurant, on a day she's working and therefore can't join, and requesting and EXPECTING her to SERVE the WHOOLE family dinner that she's been specifically excluded from. CHOOSING TO GO TO OP'S RESTAURANT, ON A DAY WHERE SHE'S WORKING AND THEREFORE CAN'T JOIN, AND REQUESTING AND EXPECTING HER TO SERVE THE WHOLE FAMILY DINNER THAT SHE'S BEEN EXCLUDED FROM... AND THEN YOUR PLAN TO SAY "Merry christmas! We tipped you as our waiter!"
    ..
WHAT. LEAVE THAT MAN. LEAVE THAT FAMILY. RUN.
    Story 4:
NTA. Fuck that guy. What is going on. so many shitty husbands. my faith in true love dwindles and dies with every story.

  • @anaisroger5938
    @anaisroger5938 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +31

On the last story, how can the husband have FOMO over one christmas holiday with his parents when he had several and will most defenitely get several more, and not FOMO over potentially missing his first child being born, because that is a once in a lifetime thing!!!

The family dinner server one is wild to me. I have a family member who used to be a waitress, my family would go to her restaurant and request her as our server, so we could see her and say hi, and so my dad could leave a big tip to help her out since she would never accept hand outs. But we would still NEVER do this. Making her a servant for a holiday dinner? Not celebrating with her? Considering her tip the Christmas present? That is absolutely wild. They're going out of their way to make things harder for her which is just awful.

Seems more like a power play... like saying that they don't really approve of her and this is their way of saying without saying that they don't see her as equal to them ... and they will see her as beneath them.

Re story #2, financial infidelity updates: she’s truly a compassionate person for going way out of her way to convince this girl. I would’ve gotten a restraining order on Joe and the girl he’s conning. If the restraining order doesn’t show that girl she’s got more scruples than the lies he’s feeding her, then good luck to her and her baby.

giving birth on your own on CHRISTMAS, the holiday CENTRED AROUND FAMILY LOVE AND TOGETHERNESS, because your husband is childish is sooo heartbreaking. that's soo sad. plus, pregnancies can go so wrong. so many things can happen. if things go wrong and she has to go through a c-section? on her own? no friends, no family, no partner? c-sections are so traumatising and awful. they're so so scary and dangerous. and he's gambling it all. because he has "massive FOMO" right. well, good luck explaining that to your kid one day.

I appreciate your guys conversation regarding discussion on race, and I really do understand!!!! It is such a pressure being a poc in my country and try to "perform" to give out a good example for the sake of our people lol. Code switching on a daily basis can be exhausting at times. While some may suggest that you should simply be yourself, it's important to acknowledge that this can be a luxury that is not always readily available.

Re: story #1. It’s not the children that’s the issue since she seemed to have sincerely enjoyed spending time and providing for Greyson, a child that’s not hers. OP is nta here and props for recognizing and taking the out before signing the marriage certificate with him. Her issue is that she was with a man who can’t establish healthy boundaries and not gaslight her for wanting boundaries. She evaluated the situation and recognized the ex and her children are apart of him life, therefore apart of hers, but there can be boundaries established where they can still be a family without her feeling unimportant in the relationship.

I think the ex / baby mama definitely was the one to breakup with OP’s fiancé, and I think he still wanted her, and now I think she wants him back too. Why else would she be spending _that much time_ with her ex’s family? She has seemingly made her ex’s family her whole life. To the point that she hears about a vacation in passing, then asked enough questions (about the vacation details) that she was able to immediately go home and plan / book the whole trip for herself to join them. That’s just so bizarre, and is way more than just a normal co-parenting relationship. I guarantee you that she and OP’s ex will get back together almost immediately.

I don't go to clubs or dance parties often but when I do my go to move is to just make eye contact and smile and if they smile back I'll ask their name and "do you wanna dance with me?" It's rarely been awkward but idk I'm kinda neurodivergent so consent and clarity mean a lot to me. Even straight girls often say yes to dancing 🤷

First, the lack of diversity I experienced in Catholic school from 3-18 is what pushed me to attend two HBCU's. It really allowed me to be myself without the model black girl label because we were 99.9% black.

First here to say I found you guys on TikTok (of course) and found a liking to you guys. Quickly realized you were located in Omaha in Nebraska (which i ironically moved here almost 3 years ago). Great conversation you guys had talking about race. Being from Florida I was very shocked by the amount of white people and lack of culture in this area. The “Nebraska nice” is very true and the segregation in this city is something I’ve never seen before. More people here need to take the time to listen to what you’re saying and educate themselves. Thank you for taking the time and speaking so mindfully about a subject. P.S. Florida is a different breed but such a beautiful place. You guys should visit sometime! (Destin, FL specifically)

Story 1: uhhhh girl if you don’t leave that man FAST . I’m in the situation you are where my fiancé has an ex wife who gave him a kid , and due to her starting bs about me I cannot stand her . He knows for safety and comfort we cannot be near each other ever . They are amicable for my stepson but if she pulled that ish he’d shut it down real quick . Also the fact he gave her so much detail to where she could book at the same place and dates ?! Like dates no duh cause they have to coordinate but the place ?! My man would never . All she needs to know is we’re going to Mexico and that’s it .
Edit: I didn’t wait till the update lol good for you girl , glad you left 😅💕

As a black person and a young black professional, you have no obligation to prove that you're smart or easy to work with to anyone. Most of my life has been spent on the east coast but the time I spent working in the Midwest was eye-opening....Y'all have it hard. But be yourself, you don't have to like them or gain their approval. I would suggest, find a black mentor in you company or in your industry that can help you navigate work-life and your career.

I'm so used to having and being around a diverse groups of people that I remember going to a concert with a friend and everyone was very white and blonde and it was a very weird and strange and slightly uneasy feeling.... And I'm half white. I was texting my family about being surrounded by the most white people I've ever been around in my life.

I understand this 1st situation way too much. I’m currently in a similar situation. Difference being my guy always gets the other kid too. The additional kid even calls him dad & the ex wife & my guy even plan things for the kid (that’s not his son) future. I have really been thinking of exiting too. This story makes me feel like I’m not wrong for my feelings.

6:49 go on the trip and change the hotel! I’m glad that they are able to co parent their son in such a way that nobody misses out on birthdays and anniversary and holidays and stuff like that but she doesn’t need to go to op birthday or on family vacation. They can set up family vacations where the ex wile goes to with them and also where they go without her as well.

Story 1: I have an interesting perspective on this one. My ex (m27) and I (f24) were together for a little over 5yrs. We broke up on good terms (we fell out of love and outgrew eachother, it started as a teenage relationship.) We’ve remained close, we are pretty much each others best friends. I am now in a new relationship of 3 years with a wonderful man and we have a 2 month old baby. My ex and I still regularly hang out and I come to all family events. My ex has had a few gfs since we broke up, none longer than maybe 6 months. They know heading into it we are close and co parent our dog (we had her since the start of our relationship.) I would NOT however expect to be at his gfs birthdays, or go on family vacations with them. There’s a way to be friends with your ex without stepping on each others new relationships.

Oh my god, my parents and i would kill my brother if he tried to leave his pregnant wife alone for weeks for a vacation. Heck, we'd probably cancel our trip so we could be there to help them both with chores and errands leading up to and after the birth. It's family, you help each other when you're vulnerable, and if she's having their grandbaby, then the BABY is definitely family whether they think she is or not

Dude that first story reeks of death on the Nile
My best friend is an exfwb. He has a girlfriend that is actually so much cooler than he is. I like her a lot and I love him absolutely to pieces but in a platonic way. When they first got together she told me that she was legit worried about it and I promised her she would never have to worry about me. That means waiting for him to text me. It means not assuming that I'll see him at birthdays and holidays because he's not my boyfriend and frankly never was. It means when I tell him I love him without thinking about it the same way I would any other friend he always replies that he loves me too but he always calls me homie when he does it. I think it's wonderful when exes stay friends but there are boundaries that must be respected
