    I'm using the S10+ since 2019, and, after using the S8+ for ~1.5 years, I still miss the iris scanner. It was my main way of unlocking the phone, because the fp scanner placement was terrible, so I never used it. I still have the phone, my mom is using it, and it still holds up pretty well.

    I'm typing this on my S8+ that I got in Nov 2017. I have light screen burn in from Tik Tok but it's not noticeable when watching videos, etc. Most visible on lighter pages. Tempted to upgrade to the S22 Ultra because of the improved camera on the S22U, but this phone still works great for my use. Don't really play too many games, but play CODM often. Up until this year I never really had lag playing, but this year been experiencing some lag and dropped frames here and there. Was worse when my storage was almost full, slightly better since I freed up some space. Handles social media well and the screen is beautiful even with the burn in lol. I use the c connection to connect to my LG monitor and it mirrors my screen beautifully.
    Would definitely not recommend getting now with all of the updated tech out there now and better cameras, but it has been a great phone for the years I've had it and for my personal use.

      Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra cost 1,600 pound in Argos might cost more in some other stores. I wouldn't pay that much money on phone even if I was working. It's stupid to pay that much money on phone wouldn't spend not more than 270 pound on phone. There is much better things to pay 1,600 pound than phone.

      @@Kenany1985 I agree 100%. It is a very stupid Idea to pay 900$ or 1300$ on JUST A PHONE. Alot much more can be done in that much amount of money. I prefer to buy just a Xiaomi's phone. They have very good specs to offer at a very reasonable price. Almost half of Samsung's price but with same hardware. What a Deal.

    I take a ton of pics for my daily work. My screen is constantly on. Have had my S8+ since Nov 2019. I have "O" complaints. I have dropped this phone multiple times on concrete with my Otterbox, it holds true. I have a glass protector but the glass screen is definitely cracked. I used a little clear nail Polish to fill in the space between the protector and the Otterbox. It's been holding true and strong for over a year now even with the cracks. I do have a screen burn because it is on and 20 hours A-day. Heavy daily usage, but what a machine!❤ I am sad because at some point I'm going to have to update. I just don't know them and I find anything as reliable as my S8+. Considering the S20 plus but I'm not happy about the lack of SD card.

    I currently have the s7 and I'm thinking about buying the s8+ bc after about 2 and a half years the home button doesn't work anymore. Anyways I was really happy with my phone and I don't like those new phones, most of them have, in my opinion, rly unpleasant camera arrangments. The galaxy s8+ does look pretty good and I think the quality etc. will be good enough for me since even the s7 was enough but it is 2022 now, almost 2023 and the 8+ is pretty outdated. There are no updates anymore etc. so I don't know... should I purchase this in 2022 or is it really way to old?

    The beauty of Android: if you still desire to keep this phone. Most apps are still supported on older Android all the way back to Android 6 or 7. You can also make it feel a bit more modern by replacing the outdated One Ui with a, slick, newer launcher that has the newest gesture. You can also use VPN with everything online to compensate for when they stop sending security patches.

    • @bruh-qi7ue
      @bruh-qi7ue 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      do you think security on old phones is that bad? I mean I really don't get why phones have that many security updates. I get PCs cause of viruses and sussy websites but, we all just use apps on phones. I rarely go on websites on my phone. The app security should be updated instead I guess

    • @Marlon_J
      @Marlon_J 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @bruh I know it's not that bad and that it comes down each person's habit. But there are those who won't feel comfortable knowing they have outdated security patches. I'm letting them know they can use VPN if they are that concerned.

      @loyal4 the way If you have an older phone that is no longer supported, I don't think you can use VPN to force updates. Sounds more like you're going to have to get over to xda developers and look for the latest custom after rooting your device.

    I have, loved, and used my S8+ extremely hard since 2017. Love, love , love my phone. I have dropped it too many times. Even the Otterbox and gorilla glass have taken a beating. I'm sad to say, I feel I must update, as my phone is used primarily for work. When and if it dies, well, I don't want to think about how difficult it would be. Really not wanting to go to the S22 ultra just because of the lack of internal storage and I really like the headphone Jack but not necessarily a deal breaker. Considering the S21 ultra, but should I just go all out. Is the S22 ultra really worth it right now?

    I broke the screen on my s8 plus after a solid 4+ years of heavy use. That thing had thousands of hours of afk osrs gaming plus other games, thousands of hours of video, left in the sun, getting super hot (never overheated on me though) etc and was still running strong when I broke the screen. When you have a phone that long it kind of becomes sentimental. Rip little buddy.

    If it were by strictly specifications absolutely! SD 845, iris scanner, 2960 by 1440 panel, 4k 30fps killer camera that holds up today! ( F,1.7) fingerprint sensor, micro sd expansion, wireless charging and I don't think reverse wireless charging but also a beautiful glass design with an edge to edge screen ( if that's your thing)The problem is that you are stuck on Android Pie with one Ui 1.0
    It's not THAT much different from 2.0 but its not getting any newer.
    The phone is fast as hell for 4gb of ram though. As of now I think that all apps are still a go with Pie but that's probably going to change soon. If you do have one try open camera app and a launcher. I'm typing on mine ( running off my Google pixel hotspot right now. Groundbreaking phone and will forever be known as the first bezel free S model galaxy!

      I agree with most of it, but s8+' camera DOES NOT even remotely hold up today. I'm on an s8+ right now, waiting for my s22 ultra preorder and the camera for today's standards is so sub-par it's ridiculous. I've taken side by side photos and videos with my friend's iphone 13 pro max and the difference is insane. It's still a decent phone in 2022 but let's not blow it out of proportions.

    My friend you don't know what you talking about.......🚮 even up too today 2023 S8 >(Me)& s8+ , s10 & s10+ are still beastly devices keeping up with today's tech.
    Even with UI one the customizing is still unlimited
    -and zooming into your white Table cant really see the phones true performance.......

    Almost 4 years using this phone
    Runs as smoothly as when I bought it
    But it's sad that its updates have stopped
    And the 4 ram isnt enough these days
    But its camera still beats many others
    Sadly I'm gonna retire it in a few months from now

      same I've had mine for nearly 5 years and will be replacing it next month when the iphone 14 pro comes out. it still runs smoothly for me as well, but has a crack and screen burn. I got this phone when it first came out and and remember marvelling at it, thinking it was the best thing in the world😂.
