Great video as always. I like the way you focus on facts over hype. Yea the s9(+) is a nice device, but so is the s8. The idea of some TH-camrs suddenly discrediting a phone they hyped soooo much last year just to paint this year's in a better light is sickening. Then after all the glorious talk about the s9, the s10 will be out and same people will begin to bash the s9.

martyjanderson nah, I'm not upset. I'm only against the paid TH-camrs who do these things for their profit and end up using the google pixels anyway. I'm not against the phone, I'm only against the insincerity. Yea, it pays Samsung to have their new devices sold, but insincerity is insincerity either ways.

So it's Feb 2019, and I've been saving up to buy my first Samsung edge phone. I've got enough to buy either one but since after watching this video, I've decided to wait till the new S10's come out and see how much the price drops of the S9+.

Interestingly enough I never had a problem with the placement of the fingerprint sensors on either the s8 or the note 8. I thought it was rather in a natural position for my finger to reach while holding it, than it being centered which I've always thought was a tad unnatural . Probably because of the way I hold it (and it's not like I have the biggest hands or anything). Purely subjective, I believe. And I've never gone finger-hunting for the sensor either. Still many people welcome this change, so I guess it's generally a good thing?

if u have a s8 and u dont care about the better camera or the better placement of the fingerprint scanner or front facing speakers then u dont need the s9

I currently have the S7 because the S8 came out just after I started a new 2 year contract. Thinking of upgrading to the S9+. It's more expensive but in the end I think it's worth the extra money. Though I agree it's not worth the upgrade from S8 (unless some of the changes are REALLY important to the user)

I need a new phone and was having it hard to decide between s9+ and LG G7 but it looks like I will go for the s9+. Samsung messed up the S8+ and Note 8 with the placement of the fingerprint sensor. How did they come up with such a terrible design?

no you cannot choose s8 plus. That fingerpring scanner location is atrocious for any device costin more than 100 bucks. Think about it, how is the phone usable with that placement? You will be toucing the camera 50 times a day, even if u get used to it if your fingers are long then they will still smear the camera. The phone sadly cannot be unlocked and costs 500$+

you know why they changed the placement of the fingerprint scanner on galaxy s9 ? because of the critics from the s8. i used to have the s8 and it took me so long to get used to the placement of fingerprint sensor. and when i got the s9 it took me a few days to get used to it.
alexaras1313 buy s9 plus. Better specs and 256GB storage... After all aint real difference in price if u buy it per communication contract.

Watching from my galaxy ace 3 👍 still works like any other.
My opinion: It isn't worth the money to upgrade... however the s9+ is a better phone. Don't say they didn't improve it. DIFFERENCE BETWEEN S9+ AND S8+:
- S9+ has a better camera (2x zoom)
- More RAM (6GB instead of 4GB)
- Slightly smaller bezels
- Slightly sharper screen, in the sense that it has more brightness (Confirmed by Samsung)
- Strategically better placed finger print scanner (Opinion-based, but it really is better tho)
- Thicker glass surrounding the phone, makes the phone more robust. (a plus in durability)
- More powerful processor (S9+ 2800 MHz... S8+ 2450 MHz)
- Double speakers (on top of the screen, and below the screen)
There you go...
But still its not worth upgrade. In my country s8+ is 430€ while s9+ is about 750€. So for that much money it is NOT worthed.
Still paying off my S8+ and aside from the camera and speakers, not enough to pay off early and get it. Gonna wait for the S10 just like how I skip all the odd generations.

For around $300 less the S8plus is the best buy. Not much difference between the two. My S8+ has been great. I'm a heavy user and the battery lasts an incredibly long time!

In 3 months I will get the samsung s9 plus and I am very excited as I have had my j3 prime for 2 years and need a new change!
Couple more months my 8+ will be paid off... and i'm keeping it for a long time to come because it does EVERYTHING I need and sum... and it's still just like new! To upgrade would be a waist of money.

Both excellent phones. I have upgraded from Note 3 to S9 plus. Wow, a glorious phone. What finally made me push the buy button? DEX, latest Android/ Samsung experience, screen, dual speakers, speed, 6gb ram, finger print scanner, video capabilities, and let's be real, the marketing hype! Lol.
I could have upgraded the note 3 to the latest Android and still enjoy the very capable note 3, but the overall package this generation whether it's the 8 or 9, is just incredible.

Very happy with my S8+ with package disabler . developer oreo that gives me longer battery life than the S9+ and fast lean launcher.
how much longer is s8+ battery compared to s9+? I am so tired of deciding which one to go for by now that I just want to flip a coin and choose one. But something inside tells me to carry on with the struggle till a sound decision is done. How many time you need to wipe s8+camera because you accidentally placed finger on it?
What I feel sad about it's the common problem faced by many of the dot on the screen or screen burn. Getting worse with newer models for some reason? Yes ofcourse tone down brightness is key but not all users are indoors all the time while using these phones, they are so expensive and easily get dots and screen burn ..
One of the best comparison video to answer the question - whether to upgrade or not.

Moving up from a tired Note 4, I bought the S9+ to get a bigger screen and extra RAM, to use with DeX.
and yet as you can see at 6:03 the right one (s9 plus i guess) comes with defective screen (pinkish)... known issue .. some are pink just like that,. you do can calibrate colors a bit to reduce the effect but it won't deminish

My fiancé has the S8+, and I have the S9+. They are both fantastic! Unfortunately, our bill is like $240 for two years though lol. I plan on just paying off the phones in a few months though because I don't like that bill lol. I'll look at whatever Samsung does next then!
Pinch to zoom doesn't work on any of my phones. Worked initially on S9+, but after upgrade, that feature didn't work. Doesn't work on my OnePlus or Mi Mix 2 either. Do you know anything about this?

I don't have big hands, but the fingerprint scanner placement on the S8+ is so much better and more comfortable, I can touch it with my index extended but I have to bend my finger to get to the S9+'s scanner.
So will the Note 9 will be an upgrade from the S8plus?
