Great video as always. I like the way you focus on facts over hype. Yea the s9(+) is a nice device, but so is the s8. The idea of some TH-camrs suddenly discrediting a phone they hyped soooo much last year just to paint this year's in a better light is sickening. Then after all the glorious talk about the s9, the s10 will be out and same people will begin to bash the s9. Nice that you put your viewers in mind in your objective comparison.

no you cannot choose s8 plus. That fingerpring scanner location is atrocious for any device costin more than 100 bucks. Think about it, how is the phone usable with that placement? You will be toucing the camera 50 times a day, even if u get used to it if your fingers are long then they will still smear the camera. The phone sadly cannot be unlocked and costs 500$+
you know why they changed the placement of the fingerprint scanner on galaxy s9 ? because of the critics from the s8. i used to have the s8 and it took me so long to get used to the placement of fingerprint sensor. and when i got the s9 it took me a few days to get used to it.
My opinion: It isn't worth the money to upgrade... however the s9+ is a better phone. Don't say they didn't improve it. DIFFERENCE BETWEEN S9+ AND S8+: - S9+ has a better camera (2x zoom) - More RAM (6GB instead of 4GB) - Slightly smaller bezels - Slightly sharper screen, in the sense that it has more brightness (Confirmed by Samsung) - Strategically better placed finger print scanner (Opinion-based, but it really is better tho) - Thicker glass surrounding the phone, makes the phone more robust. (a plus in durability) - More powerful processor (S9+ 2800 MHz... S8+ 2450 MHz) - Double speakers (on top of the screen, and below the screen) There you go...
I currently have the S7 because the S8 came out just after I started a new 2 year contract. Thinking of upgrading to the S9+. It's more expensive but in the end I think it's worth the extra money. Though I agree it's not worth the upgrade from S8 (unless some of the changes are REALLY important to the user)

and yet as you can see at 6:03 the right one (s9 plus i guess) comes with defective screen (pinkish)... known issue .. some are pink just like that,. you do can calibrate colors a bit to reduce the effect but it won't deminish
Both excellent phones. I have upgraded from Note 3 to S9 plus. Wow, a glorious phone. What finally made me push the buy button? DEX, latest Android/ Samsung experience, screen, dual speakers, speed, 6gb ram, finger print scanner, video capabilities, and let's be real, the marketing hype! Lol. I could have upgraded the note 3 to the latest Android and still enjoy the very capable note 3, but the overall package this generation whether it's the 8 or 9, is just incredible.

Interestingly enough I never had a problem with the placement of the fingerprint sensors on either the s8 or the note 8. I thought it was rather in a natural position for my finger to reach while holding it, than it being centered which I've always thought was a tad unnatural . Probably because of the way I hold it (and it's not like I have the biggest hands or anything). Purely subjective, I believe. And I've never gone finger-hunting for the sensor either. Still many people welcome this change, so I guess it's generally a good thing?
Why is the white balance so drastically different between two phones, at 10:15 I just bought an S8 and I had to readjust the display color balance. It was too yellow/green, just like in the video
Having owned the Note 8 & the S9 I can say that the big difference to me is the battery life and the speakers. Also the biometrics. The Processor in the Note 8 had the 835 the S9 had the 845. The biggest things I noticed was the much improved Sound of the speakers, almost double battery of the Note 8 , & the faster more precise biometric unlock. I am a power user so these things are important to me also they are the best upgrades. The intelligent scan is really good & fast compared to the Note 8. Thought that I would add a true opinion. I've found Sakitech to be the most informative reviewer on TH-cam. Especially when it comes to Samsung phones. I'm actually writing this this using the Note 10+. Before the Note 10+ & after the S9 I owned the S10+. Both the Note 10+ & the S10+ are much better than the S9. So if you have the s9+ or s9 I would recommend that if you own one of these & are in the market for a new phone I would wait for the S11. If you want to upgrade from the S8 or Note 8 go grab a Note 10+ or a S10+. You cannot go wrong with any of these models.

Clearly you are reading a script with no real experience with showing Dolby to others. Plus if you want to try and demonstrate Dolby on TH-cam you have to use stereo microphones.
So it's Feb 2019, and I've been saving up to buy my first Samsung edge phone. I've got enough to buy either one but since after watching this video, I've decided to wait till the new S10's come out and see how much the price drops of the S9+. This video was really helpful, thank you Sakitech!!! =)
07:18 you show on the screen that the S9+ has a telephoto lens but you never show us how to use it so I'll add that part. When you are using the rear camera on the S9+ there will be an x1 or on x2 on the right side of the screen near the bottom and that is how you switch to or from the telephoto lens.
Couple more months my 8+ will be paid off... and i'm keeping it for a long time to come because it does EVERYTHING I need and sum... and it's still just like new! To upgrade would be a waist of money.

Ntmdus --- I buy all my cell phones through Best Buy they have the best deals. All the big 3 cell carriers are there, go to best buys web site and type in your carrier then cell phone deals. Right now the S9 is not selling well, I have sprint and going with best buy they lower the installments (buy) to $27, so if I were to use my sprint loyalty $10 discount that would bring it down to $17 a month. Just check online and when you like the price you see then go to best buy and show them the price on your phone.

I like the number 8, and have the S8+. I looked at the S9+ and it's great and all, but I will probably wait like a while since I waited from the S3 to the S8+. I will probably have to wait until the S13+* or whatever for the same effect.
Spot on. The S8 was really worth the upgrade only a year after the S7 and so was the S7 compared to the S6. But this year, there really is no need for an upgrade at all. Sticking with my S8 until the Samsung 10 is released. I definitely decided once I got the Oreo upgrade about 2 weeks ago. It feels like a new phone, I like the new features plus Oreo has sped my S8 up by about 20%. There is a noticeable difference for sure.

I don't have big hands, but the fingerprint scanner placement on the S8+ is so much better and more comfortable, I can touch it with my index extended but I have to bend my finger to get to the S9+'s scanner.

I bought my Galaxy S8 in April 2018 for $425 brand new and the S9 was like $800 new so it was a nobrainer to go with the S8 when there wasn't that much of a difference except for stereo speakers, camera and moving the fingerprint sensor and that's not worth double the price!!
What I feel sad about it's the common problem faced by many of the dot on the screen or screen burn. Getting worse with newer models for some reason? Yes ofcourse tone down brightness is key but not all users are indoors all the time while using these phones, they are so expensive and easily get dots and screen burn ..

I like the number 8, and have the S8+. I looked at the S9+ and it's great and all, but I will probably wait like a while since I waited from the S3 to the S8+. I will probably have to wait until the S13+* or whatever for the same effect.

Spot on. The S8 was really worth the upgrade only a year after the S7 and so was the S7 compared to the S6. But this year, there really is no need for an upgrade at all. Sticking with my S8 until the Samsung 10 is released. I definitely decided once I got the Oreo upgrade about 2 weeks ago. It feels like a new phone, I like the new features plus Oreo has sped my S8 up by about 20%. There is a noticeable difference for sure.

Great video mate. But currently there is a trade-in / 0% financing option to a Galaxy S9+ on their UK website. Coming from an S8+ do you think it is a good deal/investment? Wait for the S10? or a different phone?

I am looking forward to buy a new phone, but I am confused between S9+ and note 8? Camera and speakers are of no use to me, but the overall phone performance is. As note 8 and S9+ both have 6gb ram, does the new chipset will make a considerable difference?
My fiancé has the S8+, and I have the S9+. They are both fantastic! Unfortunately, our bill is like $240 for two years though lol. I plan on just paying off the phones in a few months though because I don't like that bill lol. I'll look at whatever Samsung does next then!
Ok this might be a stupid question but he it is. Is the S8+ and S9+ screen the same? Like would the screen protectors fit in either one aslong as they are plus?

I don't have big hands, but the fingerprint scanner placement on the S8+ is so much better and more comfortable, I can touch it with my index extended but I have to bend my finger to get to the S9+'s scanner.

I bought my Galaxy S8 in April 2018 for $425 brand new and the S9 was like $800 new so it was a nobrainer to go with the S8 when there wasn't that much of a difference except for stereo speakers, camera and moving the fingerprint sensor and that's not worth double the price!!

What I feel sad about it's the common problem faced by many of the dot on the screen or screen burn. Getting worse with newer models for some reason? Yes ofcourse tone down brightness is key but not all users are indoors all the time while using these phones, they are so expensive and easily get dots and screen burn ..

I need a new phone and was having it hard to decide between s9+ and LG G7 but it looks like I will go for the s9+. Samsung messed up the S8+ and Note 8 with the placement of the fingerprint sensor. How did they come up with such a terrible design?
