I got the S8 because the screen is larger than any other phones I've owned like the Pixel XL, iPhone 6 Plus, etc. Yet it's smaller and easy to hold. I think it's the perfect size phone. In the past I wasn't a big fan of Samsung or touchwiz but Samsung did a fantastic job with both.
I just held it in a store. I think the S8 is wayyy too narrow and tall. I'd love another centimeter width on it because it just looks weird and awkward imo. Now I just want to hold an S8+ and see if thats still the case.
Exactly why I got the plus. I have the iPhone 6 plus also which is a bit to wide, the s8+ has the correct width for my hands. It's not for putting in your pocket though, then the smaller s8 fits better.
I have to admit my opinion has changed since I wrote my comment. I thought the S8 was perfect but It was very awkward for me when typing because it's skinny. I swapped mine out for the S8+.
Virdi Saab The truth is that last year's flambé was the absolutely best publicity for the Note line. Other people will wonder what was so very special about the Note. They will be very happy!
My work phone is a iPhone 7 Plus and my personal phone was a Galaxy S7 Edge. I got the S8 rather than the S8 Plus because the screen on the S8 still was larger than my S7 Edge and it is so much easier to handle. I loved my Rose Gold iPhone, but now when I put my iPhone next to my S8, the iPhone looks clunky and ugly...those huge bezels make it look really dated.
I was saying that my iPhone 7 Plus is way larger (and looks clunky) than the S8. My S7 Edge is definitely a similar size to the S8 and the screen on the S8 is slightly large the the S7 Edge (which is good). This is why I didn't get the S8 Plus.
You did a fantastic job explaining the difference. I am getting ready to upgrade from an S6 but was not sure about the difference from an S8 to an S8+. Now I know. Thanks!
Got the S8+...so far, so good...the larger screen, battery, and just a few more dollars per month were the things that were the deciding factors...and feel more secure using both hands with the glass on the front and back displays anyway...;)
Damn i have a iphone 7 plus. Only because of apps are opimized. But damn need a samsung phone soon. I aint royal to none of theses brands. I need your tech. You need my money. Simple
Yea but having an extra button is just kinda like eh, and I'm not really interested in the notes with their s pens so I'm getting the LG G6 and I'll wait like three years and get the S11 or something
I bought the S8 plus after watching your video before its release. I wanted the Note 7 but it blew up before I could get. I just upgraded from the S5, so I couldn't wait for the Note 8. I'm learning the phone as I go and I just want to say thank you for all your input on these electronic devices Sakitech!
Even though I have very large hands, I decided to stick with the smaller S8. I couldn't justify spending $100 more and the S8 still has a large and fantastic screen. I spent the extra $100 on the VR package, which includes a 256gb mSD, VR, and wireless bluetooth headphones.
Sakitech, this was such an informative video! I was actually only looking to find out whether the S8+ had a better camera or no, but you gave me alot of other things to consider like the fact that i can't use the S8+ with just one hand, and reminding me that the S8's display is already probably big enough because of the edge-to-edge display. Really helped me make the right decision (It's the S8 for me). Thanks a ton!
@@MaruxShinigami It depends on what you do with it. I upgraded to an S10+ because I wanted to have the newer cameras since I love photography. And the battery life on my S8 got really bad. But with a new battery it's probably still great for normal use.

hubby and I pre-ordered the S8. He loves the small size but I found it much smaller than I expected. I tried for 3 days to get used to it but had to go exchange it for the S8 Plus. I am very happy with the S8 Plus. it feels right in my small hands. the keyboard is easier to use and videos are much better.
Is the notification bar hard to reach when using the phone one-handed? I have small hands. The S8+ feels just right to hold, but I'm afraid the tall screen will be a little inconvenient to use.
Thank you that was a great no nonsense review on both phones. Samsung has a deal buy one get one free and I got to figure out whether I’m getting the eight or the 8+. With your review I’m looking at the 8+. Thank you!
you forgot one more thing by the differences in the list at the end of the video. the s8 plus has a lot of less ppi, which makes the s8 a better quality screen
I have fairly large hands, not necessarily huge but compared to the average person long fingers. I had the S7 Edge prior to owning an iPhone 7. The iPhone 7 was a breeze to use as a one-handed unit. As was the S7 Edge. Once i got my hands on the S8 and S8+ i immediately noticed how surprisingly small the S8 actually looked and felt in my hands, even compared to the S7 Edge, (even though it has a bigger screen real estate). It might have a taller display, but it is narrower, and for me, this did feel a bit awkward. Not that awkward, but i really missed that wider display for viewing photos, videos etc. Once i moved over to the S8+ i felt somewhat conflicted, because this phone really did feel HUGE compared to its little brother. I definitely favored the wider feel of the screen, but it was a little bit too tall, even for me and my long piano fingers. I'm not sure which one to get. The ultimate compromise would be a third model, right in the middle (size wise) of these two. But, as this model doesn't exist i have to make a choice in the end. I know i favor larger screens, and i would probably regret getting the S8 after a few weeks of use. The larger screen on the S8+ really gives you that extra feeling of seeing and experiencing a little bit more; in games, videos, photos (taking photos) etc.. it all becomes a little bit more enlarged, thus easier to dig more into those details. Then again, its a fairly large display. And even if the bezels are nearly non existent, and the phone itself is pretty much the same size wise as the iPhone 7+, that large screen makes it feel enormous either way. Thats my five cents anyhow!
This is a small detail, but you forgot to mention that the ppi on the S8 is slightly higher than the S8+. The difference is most likely not distinguishable by the average consumer, but I still think it should be noted. Great video!
I went and saw both at a Samsung store...I would recommend that most people get the eight plus being it's quite handable... is that a word?... anyway the s8+ is doable...
Try carrying that tall beast in your jeans pocket for a day though. I've tried. Uncomfortable and looks weird when people see this big slab outline (or poking out) in that particular area.
jonah travisano yeah but it's still a pretty big phone. See the phone itself is the same size ~~ as the iPhone 7 Plus, we think of it as a huge phone because it has large bezels. The S8+ is like an optical illusion: by having a large display with nearly no bezels, it tricks your mind into thinking it's a small phone when actually it's even 1 cm taller than the iPhone 7 Plus.
Great video! Extremely well articulated! I purchased the S8+ primarily because I'm a Note user. The thinking was to buy and try this phone until the Note 8 arrives, but, honestly, the S8+ is REALLY starting to grow on me, so much so that the Note 8, when it arrives, is really going to have to impress me for me to make the switch.
idk which one i should choose because the S8+ costs 100$ more and I´m not sure if i would choose it "just" because of the bigger display and a little bit more battery capacity and i think that the 3500 mAh won´t make a big difference because the bigger display might use more battery than the smaller one.
i prefer S8plus because i have a large hand and because it is more comfortable with my eyes, but it is not great in my jeans pocket as S8 does . i spend hours using my cellphone so it will be in my hand more than my pocket .. also bigger screen will be an advance for TH-cam users like me. this is the reasons why i thumb up to S8+
First view of your channel and really impressed on your presentation. I currently own the note 4 and in the market for a new phone. Very concise and now am subbed. 👍👍👍
RHCP 89 I'm enjoying it. The screen is beautiful. It doesn't feel bulky in the hands. It is easy enough to navigate through the features. I'd recommend it. 👍👍
I'm going to get the s8+ because I love the bigger screen and you have convince me to get it Sakitech. Keep up the great work you're doing my brother..
Very thorough review! I’m leaning towards the S8. I currently have the iPhone 6S and since I don’t watch tv or play intense video games on my phone, there’s no need to spend $100 more for the extra real estate.
GREAT video once again Saki! As always you give a crisp, clean and professional video presentation bro, very helpful facts and you don't "over explain" like many other reviews, so keep up the good work, I'm a fan and a subscriber for life!
Can you show how the split screen mode with any 2 apps look on both the devices? That's also one of the factors and none of the videos seem to address that.
The S8 Plus got a slightly lower score on Antutu. Can't decide which one to get. I'd want a bigger phone, but I also want the best performance as possible. I know this phone is a year old, but I'm upgrading from an S6 and the S9 is a little too expensive.
@Douglas Schultz The battery is great. It lasts 4-5 hours while mildly using it (better than my S6) and about 1.5~2 hours while doing heavy gaming. If you're looking for a powerful phone, definitely get the P20 Pro. Not a big fan of Huawei though, but they make pretty powerful phones, and some great budget phones too. They won't work for me, because I have Verizon.
I bought 8+ without knowing the differences. I have fairly small hands but as I'm an 'over 50', I am loving the bigger screen. I have always used both hands to message, view internet, play my addictive games etc. It feels way lighter than my previous phone (S6edge), although Ive not actually weighed them to compare. Also loving all your videos Saki, have made use of many of the features you highlighted. Thanks so much
Heroic Love I was thinking this myself when I held the s8 plus. Personally, as a Note 4 user, I found it too narrow; almost like a kid that had a growth spurt but hadn't filled out yet. So, I'm hoping that the N8 has some meat on it because the S8 looked too disproportionate.
I will be getting the s8+ just for battery life and display. The handling experience is a no problem even though I have small hands. Totally worth my time watching this because I was torn in between decisions before. For that you deserve a sub! :)
Get the plus. yea it's the same phone in reality but this years phone is all about the screen, so why go small when you can have huge. I have the plus and it doesn't look very big at all in hand it doesn't look big. the s8 plus is basically the same size screen as the note so it is by no means a small screen . the plus is just over sized
you make me laugh about if you have bigger hand get the bigger one, the same with the Battery:) yes they are both nearly the same, but there are 3 things what's differ, not just two:) one the size of the screen, tow the size of the battery and 3 the Pixel density :) on the S8 its : 570 ppi and on the S8+ its: 529 ppi , so the smaller one S8 has better Picture quality or resolution:) and I have big HANDS, but I have chosen the S8, for several reason:) it fits in any of my pockets (if I sit down, I don't have to take it out of my front pocket at all) , its easier to hold, so you can do two things at the same time (calling and paying things on a till at the same time) and the screen resolutions is better too:)
Thanks for video, it really help me on what to pick for my upgrade from the note5 and i'm thinking of getting the s8 as it almost has the same dimension as my phone. Keep up the good work man!
Tanmoy Dixit s8+ says 8/9 hours. auto brightness, 1440, no battery savings. most data through wi-fi, screen on half the day on/off. yesterday, medium use, 6:30am to 3:30pm 5% left. charge to full 1 1/2 hr
Tanmoy Dixit in one of the videoes I saw s8+ battery an inch better which can be compromised! when s8 has at 1 percent after same usage s8+ plus was at 8 percent. so there s a 7 percent diffrence. spending 100 $ for 7 percent is foolishness.
siddharth singh that was one video? lol, mileage varies, 500 more Mah, over the next 2/3 years for a non removable battery works for some people. the note already had a 5.7. 6.2. was worth it.
my s8 plus is on the way. personally i found s8 is too small for me. i totally don't believe i am able to operate a phone in one hand with comfort all the way. tks for the vid. keep going.
Rick Malone not really my friend, both phones have the same the same resolution therefore the same amount of pixels, the key to more battery usage is not the size of the screen but the amount of pixels that the gpu is moving, the more pixels the harder on the gpu so it needs to use more battery.
I have been fortunate, that I have not experienced any issues with my S8 Plus. I did experience my S8 Plus restarting on its own, but I believe a software update had fixed that problem
HI, My wife and I both have the S7 Edge phones but still have our Note 3's. We have been looking at the new S8+ but want to wait till the S8 Note comes out. We both love the use of the Styles pen and makes it easier to use in 95% of screens. Thanks heaps for your Vid's of the latest phone of what to look for and what is the difference between them. Thanks again, Kev.
Hey, great review! This was a really in-depth analysis and you made some great points, definitely helped me better understand the differences between the two phones. Well structured and easy to understand, keep up the good work!!
Just got the note 8 under 330.00 yeah battery smaller than s8 plus but still great deal for a great phone.. but a big screen to watch videos and multitask can't go wrong..👍👍👍👍
I went with the S8 for a few reasons. I like to keep my phone in my front pocket in my pants and my shorts, especially in my gym shorts as I use Pandora when working out. It fits my hand better for one handed use. Screen size is more than sufficient for my needs and if I do want a bigger screen for movies, TH-cam or others (you know what I mean :) I just break out my Galaxy Tablet
Kitties with Tiddies Samsung galaxy s7 4gb ram antutu benchmark 134000 Oneplus 3t 6gb ram antutu benchmark 160000. and the Oneplus 3t still keeps up with the s8 in almost any speedtest.
Marthin Silaban so what's the difference between the s7 and the Oneplus 3t?. They both have the snapdragon 820 processor the 3t have 1080 screen and the s7 has 1440 screen but that can't make 30000 difference on antutu.
Synthetic benchmarks only test a certain aspect of a phone, were small details like mroe ram can make a huge difference. The main thing you should look at is every-day usage. My s7 edge has had never, ever, had RAM issues. Ever. Doesnt matter how many stuff I had opened, 4 GB of RAM was enough. And I bet that the S8 has optimized its RAM usage as well. 6gb is not worth it
Donald Trump IS YOUR PRESIDENT! His hands are not small and his you know whats are huge. (figuratively speaking) His wife is gorgeous and his kids are smart and successful. That's why he is a real man and a great president. You are jealous.
Great video. Pretty darn sure I'm after the regular S8, certain games are easier when you don't have to stretch so much on the larger screen.. price is a factor too, yes. More easy for one hand.. not sure I care to have a bigger screen for pretty much anything.. the size of the smaller one is still plenty enough for me.

same! my s6 just died today. RIP s6. and s9 is way more expensive than the s8. Im getting the s8 today
Amazing comparison and informative with no BS. subscribed.
i got galaxy s8 plus because the diplay is bigger and the battery too
Erik Iulian The battery isn't bigger. They aren't risking that again.
s8+ is 3500ma s8 is 3000
Styvori Presso You're right. Which one did you get.
Michael Koech s8. 5.8 is just so fit on my palm
I got both and their great!
Thanks so much
im waiting for NOTE 8
tripasing same hi5
HI. 5
Me too, but my bank account isn't.
How much bigger will the Note be compared to the Plus?
Heroic Love I was thinking this myself when I held the s8 plus. Personally, as a Note 4 user, I found it too narrow; almost like a kid that had a growth spurt but hadn't filled out yet. So, I'm hoping that the N8 has some meat on it because the S8 looked too disproportionate.
Superb Video ! This Helped Me Alot !!!! You Got Another Sub !
great video !!!!
I will be getting the s8+ just for battery life and display. The handling experience is a no problem even though I have small hands. Totally worth my time watching this because I was torn in between decisions before. For that you deserve a sub! :)
I like your accent. Perfect!!
Good job sakitech.. Great video
Nice short video that's very informative and great comparison. You have helped me make my choice between the 2. Thank you and keep up the great work.
I bought s8+ because it was just only 1$ more expensive than the s8 in that store at that time👍😁
Arch 97 you lucky bastard. What are your opinions after using it?
Great review brother, definitely helped me with my decision
you make me laugh about if you have bigger hand get the bigger one, the same with the Battery:) yes they are both nearly the same, but there are 3 things what's differ, not just two:) one the size of the screen, tow the size of the battery and 3 the Pixel density :) on the S8 its : 570 ppi and on the S8+ its: 529 ppi , so the smaller one S8 has better Picture quality or resolution:) and I have big HANDS, but I have chosen the S8, for several reason:) it fits in any of my pockets (if I sit down, I don't have to take it out of my front pocket at all) , its easier to hold, so you can do two things at the same time (calling and paying things on a till at the same time) and the screen resolutions is better too:)
on screens these small you wouldnt notice the difference between 720p and 4k unless you put your eyeball to the screen, its marketing shit
Lorenzo Marrollo great comments it’s now s8 for me
Thanks for video, it really help me on what to pick for my upgrade from the note5 and i'm thinking of getting the s8 as it almost has the same dimension as my phone. Keep up the good work man!
How long does the battery last for an average user and for a heavy user in the S8 ?? And how long for the S8 plus ?
Tanmoy Dixit My s8 plus can easily run a full day
my 8+ lives 2 days easily. but I don't use it much
Excellent comparison. A++ Subbed.
still not sure which to choose?🤔
*while watching on my Galaxy s8+*
my s8 plus is on the way. personally i found s8 is too small for me. i totally don't believe i am able to operate a phone in one hand with comfort all the way. tks for the vid. keep going.
i want S8 because it small the plus is too lager for me
Got my answers! Thank you! Very informative
i made a mistake getting the s8 wish i got the s8 plus the screen is a beauty
Shahid Ali i made a mistake by getting s8 plus. i have small hands. it is difficult for me to use.
Anu M me too I made a massive mistake getting s8 plus
I'm changing it to small
Anu M lol in my country you are allowed to have a look at both phones before deciding on which one to buy..
The S8 has better resolution and lasts just as long, the 500mah gets used up by the extra screen size...
Rick Malone not really my friend, both phones have the same the same resolution therefore the same amount of pixels, the key to more battery usage is not the size of the screen but the amount of pixels that the gpu is moving, the more pixels the harder on the gpu so it needs to use more battery.
Great Video,Man!
I'ma get a s8 plus I usually use both hands with my phone 📱Regardless since i have small hands
Great comparison video! It will be very helpful for me when I make the decision. Well done and Thanks!
I have the S8+, for it's beautiful larger screen and larger battery capacity
Michael Ferguson have you had issues with it
I have been fortunate, that I have not experienced any issues with my S8 Plus. I did experience my S8 Plus restarting on its own, but I believe a software update had fixed that problem
Thankyou very well said! Getting the s8+
S8+ coz I've got a big head
HI, My wife and I both have the S7 Edge phones but still have our Note 3's. We have been looking at the new S8+ but want to wait till the S8 Note comes out. We both love the use of the Styles pen and makes it easier to use in 95% of screens. Thanks heaps for your Vid's of the latest phone of what to look for and what is the difference between them. Thanks again, Kev.
Samsung galaxy s8 is best choice for smallest phone
Thank you so much ! You help me with your video a lot ! 🙂
Like for the s8
Hey, great review! This was a really in-depth analysis and you made some great points, definitely helped me better understand the differences between the two phones. Well structured and easy to understand, keep up the good work!!
I got mine S8+ for $287.56 from boost mobile 😃👍
They are 199 right now...
@@juliosantana4086 they are 350$ new with warranty no shit amazon
Just got the note 8 under 330.00 yeah battery smaller than s8 plus but still great deal for a great phone.. but a big screen to watch videos and multitask can't go wrong..👍👍👍👍
Im planning to buy an s8 in 2019, hows one ui , is it still fast and smooth?
@@mikeyaperta5980 yup responding to you with the note 8.. dam phone is quite k and responsive.. my. Broo got the s8 plus and he loving it..
@@endc3043 thanks, then I think im going to buy the s8 😁
@@mikeyaperta5980 wel, you won't break the bank.. it's not the newest but you'll save 60 to 80 percent $$$
I'm waiting for the Note 8!!!
Thank you mate for the video.
definitely S8
Great review, I switched from my google pixel 2 to a S8 +, I'm happy with it.
going for mi 6 silver edition,
Reason is 5.15" display, dual cameras, stereo speakers, Snapdragon 835 processor and reasonable price $399...
theres no headphone jack though lol
Add the bad camera SW, no IP68, no sdcard slot and no headphone jack, too.
iamadroid the ip68 is priceless.
Excellent review. I was able to make a great choice after watching this one video. Comes straight to the point! thanks !
Note 8 . The Note phone is simply the best
Roman Carrasco Bad battery
Roman Carrasco dog or a cat?
Nahh. I am getting a goat.
Same here
note 8
Brenda Wiggins I love you
abdul qadir wtf you write i love you to ladies on all tech videos on youtube lol like on 4 videos
why note 8 only it's not handy
Sorry... I don't have spare organs to sell.
Very informative. Thanks a bunch
should have hade 6gb ram
Nelson Evora yes, but on my Xperia Z3 i never managed to use more than 2.2GB of ram, even during very heavy usage XD
Kitties with Tiddies Samsung galaxy s7 4gb ram antutu benchmark 134000
Oneplus 3t 6gb ram antutu benchmark 160000.
and the Oneplus 3t still keeps up with the s8 in almost any speedtest.
phone ferform doesnt depend on size of ram. 4 gb is more than enough. More than that is useles
6gb is not worth it
great review. .earned a sub
u R indian
Okayyy....
Shashank Tony so?
Shashank Am And you are an idiot
Thanks for the simplicity of this video. I'm due for an upgrade. I think I'll go with the s8 as my hands are on the smaller side.
Donald Trump should get the S8. His hands are too tiny for the S8+. Come to think of it, they're probably too tiny for the S8 as well.
they should've made an S8 mini variant
Ice Age lol 😊
Donald Trump IS YOUR PRESIDENT! His hands are not small and his you know whats are huge. (figuratively speaking) His wife is gorgeous and his kids are smart and successful. That's why he is a real man and a great president. You are jealous.
Great review!
Great video. Pretty darn sure I'm after the regular S8, certain games are easier when you don't have to stretch so much on the larger screen.. price is a factor too, yes. More easy for one hand.. not sure I care to have a bigger screen for pretty much anything.. the size of the smaller one is still plenty enough for me.
very good review ! thanx man. i think ik go with the S8, because of the 1-hand handling
Thx for this video man out was perfect
Damn good video without all the fluff. Thank you.
