I'm favoring the S8+. A design change was in order for Apple but they need another redesign getting rid of the notch intruding into the display. Considering the S8+ was released much earlier than the iPhone X shows how far ahead Samsung is with innovation. I'm sure their next device is around the corner. I'm an Apple user but I also look at what I'm getting for the $$$. iPhone X is way over priced.

I'll go with the Galaxy S8 bc it's an android and we all know that an anroid is a very capable and versatile os. Where as on ios, you are only stuck with that 'apple ecosystem'. And the Galaxy S8 doesn't have that annoying notch like on the iPhone x.

Timi Akinlonu yes it has an more efficient chip but iphones always lose vs samsung in battery life. check some battery life tests between both of them (s8 and iphone 8, cause there are no iphone X vs s8 battery life videos yet). and im 100% sure, the s8 will also take out the iphone x in battery life. it always had 50% left when the iphone died in the iphone 8 vs s8 tests.
i dont agree with your points. first off the numbers of the geekbench and stuff doent matter that much look up a speed test, you say the display is a tie, but then again, the samsung has better resolution, better ppi, and is atleast twice as bright?

Two key points you failed to mention regarding the battery. S8+ charges faster than the iph X via wireless, and cable. Also the S8+ offers a variety of power options under settings to improve battery life. Another key point is device security. S8+ gives you the ability to unlock your ph with Google's trusted location, and connected bluetooth devices. Overall the S8+ offers a ton of features like developers option, the ability to download files larger than 150mb over cellular, and an unrestricted OS........Hands down the Galaxy is the better device.
Rajgion Davis So true on the extra S8 features, Rajgion! The trusted location unlock is genius and I use it all the time. One thing that I appreciated constantly on iOS was the ability to send large videos over iMessage. That's often frustrating on my S8 Plus.
Bill Feinberg I totally agree with you about video files, and large photos. I had an iph 6S plus, and could send multiple pics. On my S8+ two photos is the max. I use Samsung Link to send large files, but this is a slow and time consuming alternative.

Also using Bluetooth headphones uses less battery on the phone, instead of using the headphone jack. I get over 15 hours of battery life between charges on the headphones.

I have Bluetooth earphones. The problem with Bluetooth is that you have to stress about charging those as well. And when they die, you have to wait for them to charge before you can use them which is incredibly irritating.
BizyGi Sony 1000x has a battery life of 30 hours I believe. You would only have to charge them once or twice a week, it’s not a bad opinion to try Bluetooth ones out. Anyway regardless it’s your choice.

Abdul Wahab Akhter higher auto brightness isn’t a factor of total screen brightness since you cant control the peak luminance. For your s8 to max out at a 1,000 nits you have to be in some serious direct sunlight for that to kick in.

hey saki, could you please teach me how to completely delete the frequent phone numbers I dial , in details, I dial a specific number (not saved in contacts) and I delete it regularly, but as soon as I digit the first part of that nuber again it appears completely as proposed number to dial, it's too bad if someone else hold my phone for my privacy!

For me, stereo speakers are insignificant. At home, I mostly use my laptop for pretty much everything. When I go out, I simply cannot watch videos using the speakers with people around, headphones are the only choice. The same with processing power, I do not play games on smartphones (casual as f*ck), and 1 or 2 secs of loading time from apps does not make any difference. What I need from a phone:
1. Long battery life (S8 Plus is better, you're wrong on this).
2. Great display (S8 Plus is better with much brighter and more pixel density).
3. Fast charging (no doubt S8 Plus is better).
4. Promise of hi-res audio quality for Bluetooth headphones (Sony's LDAC has been integrated into Oreo, just wait for an update) and I'm using Sony Bluetooth headphones. S8 Plus is obviously better.
5. Customizations (you have no idea how much I want to personalize my devices). Again, S8 Plus.
6. A.I Assistants. With S8 Plus you can have Bixby, Google Assistant and Cortana. All of them have their own strengths and when combined, they're infinitely better than Siri.
7. Price. Jeez, S8 Plus is almost half the price of IPhone X with all of the above advantages.
Seriously, I do not have to tell you more than this to know which one is better. But people are irrational as always, IPhone is no longer a piece of hardware, it's considered a status symbol like Vertu in the past, but you know how Vertu ended up now. Apple had better check their price tags before people realize their products are not as good as the price. It's only a matter of time before Android is just as stable and smooth as iOS, and as a hardware leading corporation, Samsung will slowly but surely overthrow Apple in both hardware and software. Apple has to use Samsung's OLED display for their phones is a sign of this.

+MacXpert74 - The Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+/Note 8 give you a choice of Multiple Display Settings (including a choice of screen resolution) including a display mode that allows you to fully adjust the individual RGB color balance and saturation of the display, so you can adjust it to match a reference color profile, or simply adjust it to your personal preference.
The Samsung models also have a ''Reading Mode'' which lets you adjust the amount of ''warm/soft'' color balance of the display. No, Samsung's ''reading mode'' is not an active, real-time color balance adjusting mode like Apple's ''True Tone'', but in everyday use, it basically achieves the same thing, while keeping a consistent reference color balance, rather than an Ever-Changing color balance/target curve.
In the end it all comes down to personal preference.
IMO I don't like how the ''Notch'' ultimately reduces the usable, viewable size of the display, especially in landscape orientation. Check out Safari and how the overall size of the browser window is reduced on the left & right sides with blank side bars. You essentially end up with a much smaller display than what they are marketing it as and selling you. Just my opinion.
I also don't like how the Face I.D. feature forces you to pick up the phone in order to unlock it. With Touch I.D., I unlock my phone MANY times throughout the day while it lays flat on my desk or table in order to read text messages, email, respond via Siri, etc. It's now a PITA to have to Pick Up the iPhone 10 *EVERY* single time in order to unlock it. :( Same goes for in-vehicle unlocking. In addition, I also have to Swipe Up to unlock the phone. I'd like the option to disable that. Ultimately, Touch I.D. is much faster and way more convenient in everyday use.
Once again, Apple has taken one step forward and two steps back. :(
This is true, however the S8+ and s8 are not true 1440p, it's more like 1080p and a half, if you read about how the S8 in 1440p mode will allow it's green subpixels to be used by other pixels allowing for a slightly more sharp picture in 1440p vs 1080p. If you switch back and forth from 1080p to 1440p you can see there is only a very slight difference is sharpness.

The iPhone x has a Samsung oled panel. But the resolution is higher on the S8 so it's better
I would prefer color accuracy over a minor bump in resolution any day of the week. Adding more resolution above 450 PPI becomes rather insignificant for most people on normal viewing distance. The accurate color display on the other hand is important for everybody.
You can customize colour accuracy on the s8, also the higher PPI a display is, the more high quality it is. It doesn't matter what the normal "Viewing distance" is or whatever. Higher PPI = Better
When it comes to reviews on phones, I highly recommend your channel Sakitech. You are the only who gives substantial facts to consider which phone is better. Keep it up man! By the way, S8+ is the winner! And I am a proud S8+ user! More powers! ✊

You should know the wireless charging technology in the S8+ is years ahead of the Iphone x! You make it seem as if they were comparable. Shame on you!
Is that important? The only time I personally use wireless charging is at night, on my bedside table, and as long as it can charge a phone in 7 hours (which even the slowest most rubbish standard can) then its not important. If I want to add some serious battery in a rush, its wired charging.
I don't comment on videos often, but 1. Quit using Geekbench, it doesn't show real performance especially in games, use futuremark where you see how the X fails badly. 2. S8 line has the best screens, brighter, more colorful, higher resolution. Fun fact, Samsung makes Apple's screens, they get the cheapo ones for a reason. 3. Research better, use facts not opinions.

well I chose a note 8 it beats the x hands down with its 6.3 display and the cut out on the screen of the x is hideous and the camera bump and theres no headphone jack so your screwed if you own exspensive headphones like me apple are becoming just a fashion phone there over priced and out dated a bit like beats headphones were you pay for a fashion statement and put up with the crap sound and build.

Display: X wins. Better Full Screen brightness, better color accuracy, better full screen contrast ratio, lower reflectivity. Displaymate says the X has the best smartphone screen they’ve ever tested, even better than the Note 8s which is superior to the S8s screen.
256 GB of internal storage is FAR superior to SD card storage.
X has better, more premium feeling build quality (stainless steel chassis) with much better speakers.
The A11 smashes the Snapdragon 835, it’s going to age better.
iOS, like stock Android (Pixel/Nexus), gets updates as they happen, not 6-8 months later like Samsung’s Touchwiz.

Just so you know the guy reviewing this was WRONG on a lot of what he said. The storage is NOT capable of going up to 256gb...It's capable of 1TB according to the manual..you know from the people actually made the thing! And the scores you are talking about are directly from Apples marketing sights. The screen is lower rez. , smaller and has a MUCH lower PPI and brightness. Sorry Iphone groupie reality is kind of fickle when facts are actually used! So it is really easy....

Thanks a lot for your comparison. Being an IOS only user - starting with Iphone 4, then 5, 6s and 7 - since early October after the Iphone 8/X presentation the S8+ is my first Android device ever. I've a provider contract here in Germany, where I can get a new phone every 12 months and use 3 phones with the same phone number (MultiSim) at the same time. So I use 6s, 7 and S8+. And I must say: I like the S8+ especially for taking photos and watching videos - plus access to the Google Playstore.

Great objective review. But pls lets b honest n admit s8+ has the better screen. It has better nits, better pixel density, larger screen, true edge to edge infinity display n better design n screen to phone ratio.

As far as storage, since the iPhone has the icloud pretty cheap, why would storage be a factor? I don't know much about the i cloud, so I don't know what can't be stored there as opposed to the device itself.
