    I have used sponges on a big painting that I did 36 x 36. Sometimes I feel like I cheated getting the textures I did using my sponges but it sure made my painting easier and more successful. Thank you for posting this. It validated my use of sponges!

    I facilitate art Make-N-Takes and when it involves fabric, such a raw canvas banners or spirit dolls, I like to paint the fabric. After I cut there banners and before I sew and cut the dolls. I have found using sponges a quicker and more organic process than brushes. You have given me more idea, thank you. I think using sponges on the mixed media art would be less wasteful than paintbrushes.

    I acutally like using sponges, I started using them for Space-Pictures and later found out, that they're great for glitter-effects as well. I wondered, could you cut a sponge and use it istead of a brush? Like making a fine edge or sharp tip on a sponge with fine pores to create something like a pencil-like sponge for fine details? Would that work? I don't like brushes much, so I'm thinking of just using sponges for every possible detail ;)

    Hi Em! I love your sponge video! Your top 4 reasons are really helpful. I don't typically use sponges in my practice and I am now reconsidering this decision- especially that straight line and edge work, as well as your sea sponge for texture and blending. Fabulous and informative video. Take care Em!

      @@paintandpinotinperth7868 Well, I use ecological that mother nature can break down, they do leave some fuzz behind sometimes but, I rather have that, I´m trying to be as eco friendly I can :)

      @@paintandpinotinperth7868 I´m looking forward to seeing it :) I´m not all clean tho, but I try to recycle all the "bad stuff" into my junk art, as much as I can, I rather have it on the wall than in the sea :) I think every action counts and if there´s a choice (usually is) it´s always worth to go for the better one, it may not be convenient all the time for you as one person, but it´s allways better for our mother nature :) and she needs some tlc.

  • @kunique_thevoice6422

    Do you wet your sponge with water first before adding paint? If so, do you use distilled water?

    • @paintandpinotinperth7868
      @paintandpinotinperth7868  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      KIMBERLY GLADDEN No water, acrylics are pretty Lucid without extra water. In fact water added to acrylic will make the quality of the colour reduce due to its compound.
      Hope you have fun with it 😉🎨🍷
