It's amazing what you can do with simple tools, in this case, a kitchen sponge. Love the end result. What do you think? Always love to hear from you! ❤❤😁😁
Just beautiful! Ive just started trying to paint at 62 years old. Im not good, but i enjoy it so much! I use sponges and spoons sometimes. Also, ive found a puppy potty pad is perfect to put my canvases on!
This is my first time, l opened TH-cam and there you were ❤. Love the sponge effect, with a bit of a brush. Love all your different blues/whites and the colours you used for sunset 🥰 Fascinating painting, you’ve drawn me in 🔥🔥🤗😍✨🌟
Very clever and creative. I'm impressed at how you found a nice balance in cutting it down to 13 minutes long without fast forwarding through everything. I think it's cool when people can create art with unusual and minimal art tools. Brilliantly done! Also a huge congrats on getting so many views, looks like you may have the beginning of a viral video on your hands!
I love this piece! Beautifully done!! I'm a realist in my work! But I should give a try and have fun playing with it! I'm so stuck on the realism it sometimes gives me stress. I'm a perfectionist in my work, but am getting better on that!!🤣🤣🤣 It's the way God wired me. He wired you perfectionists for you as well!! Beautiful work!! Thanks for sharing!
Hmm more than just coincidental daubing Soraya, you are an artist as much with a sponge as with a brush. Amateurs cant paint sea waves by chance or even clouds. They end up with mud. You are gifted.
New subbie here. Loved this painting Soraya, very interesting, effective technique. I've never thought to use a sponge like this, but will definitely be trying it out - seems a good way to tackle larger projects. Have to say, I laughed at the state of your brush, looks like it has seen some service! Thanks for giving your time and so generously sharing your knowledge, I look forward to catching up on more of your work, best wishes from Scotland 🏴
Wow, this painting is truly amazing... I love how you took something as simple as a kitchen sponge and created such a beautiful work of art. The texture and depth you get with it is truly impressive. Good morning, Soraya. What a wonderful video. In my experience painting, I’ve yet to use a sponge to create the foundation of the sky. Thank you for sharing and yes, I’m going to try it. I hope all is well. Have a great week. 😎
oh my, the blue colour is so pretty. Only your magic hands and your eye for colour can turn a painting from a simple sponge into a pretty picture. Love how you blend the white to create waves and the clouds and the end result.
Hello, how are you? It's another new month, another new week, and it's definitely fall. I hope you're doing something beautiful/fascinating, and that good health and good feelings are with you. ^^

Thank you for your clear instructions and suggestions for doing this. Right now I'm in the process of doing a painting of a sunset sky with clouds with the ocean reflections and a light house. What you said really made a lot of sense! I so appreciate artists like you who take the time to teach others with simple and clear instructions. Maire
Hi I'm a ne subscriber, just getting into painting and I like your teaching method , but could you let us know what color you are using as you paint. Thank you
Hi! Thanks for subscribing 😁 I show all the colours near the end of the video. As I paint I combine the colours directly into the canvas. Hope that helps 💖
Lovely idea to use a kitchen sponge. The blending and softness you created is so much better then with a normal paintbnrush. What was the odd shaped brush you used. Gorgeous sunset. Regards Glenis
Awesome painting. I am only a newbie but going to give it a go. One question - do you Gesso your canvas first and if so do you use a sponge to do it? TIA!
Thank you so much. I have been asked this question a lot and the simple answer is …I don’t know…but I have been told it is a filbert brush. Sorry! Hope that helps. I appreciate you watching 😁

Can you please let me know what. Are some of the colours you use thank you
Hi! Near the end of the video, I show you all the colours I used. Hope that helps
I love this method! It’s almost surreal but still obviously an ocean sunset.
Thank you very much! 😁💕
Since acrylic dries so quickly, what do you to keep working it so smoothly? I am a watercolorist but would love to try this, it really speaks to me.
I add the smallest amount of water onto the sponge to smooth it out. It should be barely damp. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching 😁
Amazingly beautiful ❤️

Hi! Thanks for subscribing 😁 I show all the colours near the end of the video. As I paint I combine the colours directly into the canvas. Hope that helps 💖
Do you varnish the painting with spray varnish? I've never tried it but I've heard that it makes the colors look nice, less flat/mat.
Hi, yes, always. Not only does the varnish make the colours come to life, but it also protects the painting.
Bonjour. Merci pour cette super vidéo, très sympa et résultat génial! pouvez vous me dire quelles sont les couleurs utilisées? merci beaucoup;
Les couleurs son vers le fin de le video. Merci beaucoup😀
Thanks for the tip about using varnish. What type of varnish do you recommend over acrylic so that it doesn’t turn yellow with age ?
Hi! I use Krylon non yellowing varnish for acrylic paint. Hope that helps 😁
Bonjour superbe!!!

Very beautiful! I love it! you make it look so easy! Is this all done on wet on wet ?

Beautiful work! Do you use this technique with oils as well? Thank you
Thank you so much 😁 I’ve never tried it with oils. Sorry. Thanks for watching 😁💖
What kind of brush you use for that I like that one, let you move in any directions

Thank you 😁💖 I use Krylon spray varnish for acrylic paint. Hope that helps!
Ok je viens de voir ! C est de la peinture acrylique ! Mais " quelle technique !! " 😮

Incredible does it all have to be done in one sitting or can breaks be taken between layers?
Thank you so much 😀
I take breaks. I often take the time to assess the overall composition before painting on.
Beautiful! Thank you! I was looking for an abstract seascape but this is magnificent and I can totally use these techniques.
