Thanks man you just resolved my problem. I forgot to drain the bowl last winter and been trying to figure out why I wasn't getting gas. Once I resolved that problem because the float was stuck I poured 2 gallons of gas in it just to have it go all over the floor of my garage. Lmao.
Happy to hear all is well. Death and all and the fuel today will destroy the float needle jet. Buy a float needle jet and your problems are behind you ride safe. Have a great day and thank you for watching and all your support Chris.
Good Job sir. You make everything look so simple. Like I could fix my 2006 RKC myself. I will say through your video's which built up my confidence, I've done some r&r and maintenance to her. I'm not ready for some projects like changing throttle & clutch lever control buttons or diagnosing my intermittent (very seldom) fuel sending gauge & gear designation lights on my new Harley speedo accessory , (I think there's a short in the wire to sending unit or something) but the bike runs great , sounds great , starts quick and feels safe. BTW, the speedo thing only lasts from a mile or so after start-up to 4 or 5 mi of driving. It works great after that and doesn't re occur for weeks , until that infrequent intermittent random week or so. Anyway, thank for sharing, Sincerely ...................... P.S. Stay cool this summer.
Happy to help. Sounds like one of those gremlins I just have to wait till it totally fails. Sounds like your speedo.. Thank you for watching and all your support Steph. Ride safe and have a great day.
1979 ? Wow! Nice old Dyna Shovelhead! I have one of those "Yankee ratchets" I used it almost everyday working on airplanes before I retired. How many 1979 Jap bikes do you see on the road these days?
@@TwoWheelRocco I would like to ask you for some input on 1979 FLH e glide 80cu had it since the earth cooled (45years ) I have not had a problem with carb it is a keihin model 27466-78- A my manual doesn't list "A" Two questions bike run strong as a shovel head should ,however this year after with bike off fuel is leaking from the overflow float stuck or diaphragm shot ? Second question can I repair it without removing the carb or can remove the bowl from the bottom like you did with the S&S carb video thank you for responding to me I appreciate you ,if you sell patience I buy a couple boxes lol CJ 🇨🇦
@@CJH.northof49 if you could send a picture of that Carburator to my email, which would be ERocco3964@gmail.com. And then I can understand what Carburator it is. I would remove the carburetor and replace the needle on your float. Usually they fell and that's why you leak fuel from the overflow hose. Check your Petcock that it ain't leaking gas and causing a problem with your carburetor. Let us know how it works out.
Happy to help. With a vacuum operator, Petcock, the diaphragm fails.gas goes through the vacuum line and into the intake and drain and overfill the carburetor if the gas is left on. Thank you for watching and all your support Dudley. Ride safe and have a great day.
I have a s and s on my 85 fxrt and had same problem. I rebuilt using the whole s and s rebuilt kit. I have parts left over as I did not use rebuilt parts on my accelerator pump You’re right to use only the s and s parts as the others are cheap crap
Would this cause a bike to flood and not start? I have a 1998 FLHT which is an Evo and it has an S&S carb on it. I left the petcock on accidentally for 4 weeks and cannot get the bike started for the life of me. Battery is still good, I changed the spark plugs, and I closed the petcock for 2 weeks with the choke closed, but now I tried and I get a loud pop from the exhaust when I press the engine on button before ever cranking it, and still after cranking it I get nothing.
Happy to help make sure the batteries fully charged pull the spark plugs and let it sit 24 hours and then rotate a few times and then put the plugs back in and you should be good to go. These motors don't like to sit the oil works its way into the dry sump motor and causes havoc if you're not starting them up at least once a week. Thank you for watching and all your support DK. Ride safe and have a great day. Any questions just ask. Let us know how it works out.
Rocco my 2017 low rider s had to be taken into the dealership turns out i have a cracked piston. In the process found out the previous owner put bigger valves and springs put screamin eagle high compression pistons 10:5:1 feuling 594 cams adjustable push rods bassani road rage 3 exhaust ported heads. I know it had a TTS master tune however the dealership removed it and put a stage 1 tune instead question is could the improper tune caused the cracked piston ? They are saying it was the valve clearence.
inproper tune can cause all sorts of heat problems. But I would go with the valve with clearance Sorry to hear that, but it sounds like you got everything under control. Hopefully you're riding again it's a great bike. I love the low riders. Ride safe and have a great day. I hope that helps.
@@TwoWheelRocco Thank you Rocco I was relieved it sounds like the previous owner addressed all of the weaknesses with that engine and having all of that power on top they are going to be replacing the heads with screamin eagle cnc heads and replacing the jugs because of the scoring. I was getting pinging prior to this at about 3100 rpms and up.
On my S&S I have a vent nipple right behind the fuel mixture screw what is that for? And shouldn’t have a cap on it? Mine has nothing hooked up to it and it’s not covered thanks

@@TwoWheelRocco it idles pretty good just not sure what it’s for and if I should have it capped off because I see them come new with a cap and it has a high flow petcock not sure if it’s a vent for that or not?
I would cap it up and see if the bike runs better. That's why I asked if it idle Good .if that was sucking air, I would think you'd have a problem with your Idle. Let us know how it works out. Could be the vacuum pick up for the vacuum operator Petcock that you're not using.
