You might think changing things is difficult, but just small tweaks can do wonders for your skin. Remember to consume plenty of water. Have a 1L bottle nearby and strive to complete it. Once it's done, top up it and consume another liter. If you can handle more, that's great! If your skin is extremely dry or oily, try using litlextra riceeberry face wash. Once or twice daily should be sufficient. It has water from black rice which gives good glow to skin. Don't overlook to moisturize before going to bed, according to what works best for your skin. Attempt to squeeze in some exercise, even if it's just a quick 10-15 minutes. If you're busy working, walk briskly to the bus stop and back. If you can, utilize a treadmill. Afterward, rehydrate, freshen up, have breakfast, and start your day. It's important to remain happy and eat well. Opt for foods like daals, spinach, carrot and orange juice, and yogurt. These are everyday foods that can help you feel amazing. And don't worry if you feel dull during bad weather - it occurs to everyone.
After finishing a bottle of dermaaco face wash last month, I switched to rice berry face wash the next month. I believe rice berry suited my skin better and resulted in good results.
asian sunscreens are the only ones i can use for my oily and acne prone skin!! highly recommend if you can access them. i just order mine online although they take FOREVEE to come in!
Great video. For future videos you might want to mention hat benzoyl peroxide will stain any fabrics like wash cloths, towels, bedsheets, etc... that it comes in contact with. People using benzoyl peroxide should use white wash cloths and white towels to avoid staining colored wash cloths and towels.
Thank you so much for this video. In my teen and early 20s my skin was so oily and had lot of breakouts. Now in my 40s it’s the best skin I’ve had. CeraVe is my choice of face products. Now I can help my daughter who is pre teen and has oily skin too.
I use adapalene and benzoyl peroxide gels. I live in a tropical country (PH) and here in our area it is very warm and humid. I still have oily skin but these are my daily lifesaver that made my acne vanish!
I used to use the clean & clear blotting papers, but I went through so many I was getting annoyed with spending $ on a product that I used up so quickly. I got the idea of cutting squares out of tissue paper and keeping them in a little organza pouch. It's awaaaay cheaper and just as effective.
Hi Dr Sam! I discovered your channel recently and love how informative your vids are, thanks so much! I see you've recommended BHA and Adapalene here as good ingredients for oily skin, I was wondering if you might make a vid on Azelaid Acid some time? Thanks!
I have used Paula's Choice BHA's for 20 years, I use the Extra Strength CLEAR. I use cheaper vitamin C's. I really also have liked for years Paula's Choice RESIST Extra light Sunscreen - I find octinoxate breaks me out so I have not tried too many chemical sunscreens that are popular. But I have ventured into the Asian sunscreens and they are great. At 55 I still break out so I do use Rx tret along with clindamycin and spironolactone. Finally, I frequently wash my pillowcases and my makeup brushes.
I used the Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant for months about two years ago but I couldn’t get past that it felt like it wouldn’t absorb and it would just sit on my face. It was so frustrating to go to sleep like that because my face felt sticky and weird. I wonder why I was having this issue when clearly this product is so popular? Also, those oils absorbing sheets are STILL a must-have for me (and yes I’m a millennial lol)! As a matter of fact, a good friend from high school saw me using them recently and couldn’t believe that I still used them. 😂
I felt like this too after hearing all the rave reviews. I held on to the product and have tried it again recently. Before I was just applying it and felt like it would just sit there. on my skin. shiny (not glowy). This time, I am applying my moisturizer after a few minutes and that feeling goes away. I think locking it in with the moisturizer has changed my opinion of it and now I feel like I'm getting all the benefits like the rest of the world saw. I use the Aveeno Calm and restore oat gel moisturizer, but have also used the CereVe PM moisturizer in the past as well. Maybe give that a try?
I am one oily girl that doesn't like the Paula's Choice or Differin. Neither did anything for me. Actually after applying either of them, my pores/blackheads looked ven more noticeable 😩
Great recommendations, thank you! A also great and cheaper alternative to the Silymarin CF is the Vitamin C Super Serum Plus from Naturium, it also contains niacinamide and a small amount of salicylic acid.
Thank you so much for this video. I wish i saw it before I do my homework and get the product that helps my oily skin I just need night moisturizer with peptide ! Do you recommend Alastin for night moisturizer too?
Dear Dr. Sam, could you please address dry skin issues for mature women who use Retinol PM, vitamin C AM together with sunscreen and experience dry skin - face and neck. Could you also recommend some products for sensitive dry skin issues including eye care. Thank you!
Biore sunscreen does not have matte finished. If u looking for slightly matte sunscreen all the one I try has zinc oxide in it, the only 2 i tried that really dry down matte is Missha soft finish, and anessa sun milk blue cape, I tried a lot of sunscreen that say “matte” no they don’t they all grease up in half an hours, coming from a super oily person who like in warm client all year round
Thank you for all the suggestions Dr. If I May ask for suggestions for oily skin mixed with rosacea. I’m always hesitant because products good for one thing may be not beneficial for the other condition. Thanks
Dear Dr. Ellis! Thank you very much for the videos, they are very helpful! Would it be possible to make a video about the proper skincare routine for combination skin? Thank you very much!
I’ve read that benzoyl peroxide and vitamin c cancel each other out, but not with a BP cleanser. Can you use a benzoyl peroxide cleanser in the morning with vitamin c serum (pure vitamin c)?
I think that would be okay, but ultimately BP washes have much more evidence for efficacy against acne, so if someone could tolerate a BP wash every day, then that would be my rec!
Please do a vlog on remedies for cracked fingertips and peeling & split nails (I'm 67) Thank you! I just discovered your channel & have ordered 7 of the items you've recommended. Lisa in San Diego
I need a product that reduces sebaceous hyperplasia! I went to derm she said there's no treatment i have large nodules forming. Is there help? It started in my 50s
I've seen the UV Physical and Biore Aqua Rich Essence recommended a lot for acne-prone skin. However, they both have isopropyl palmitate pretty high up on the ingredients list. INCIDecoder and CosDNA show this as having a pretty high comedogenicity rating. Do you find that this ingredient makes you (or your patients) break out?
Dr. Ellis will you please make a video on self tanner and using skincare products? I am an avid self tanner and have questions like will my skincare actives interfere with my tan mousse or tanning drops? Should I be avoiding using tan on my face? Can I use retinol with my self tanner drops for my face? Thank you!!
Hi Dr Sam, I have an issue, when I dont shower lets say 1-2 days due to my job, a red patches and flaky appears besides my nose and in the eyebrows, also they disapper after 2-3 days using dermosupril, is this seborrheic dermatitis? Im confused also with my skin type
Over the years I’ve realized that everyone spends differently when it comes to skincare and other things in life. No one needs a $3,000 purse or $50,000 car, but some people find that indulging in those items brings them joy! I totally realize everyone is working with a different budget which is why I try my best to give a range of price points and have created videos specifically for lower-cost skincare items too! 😃
The only thing that works for me is isotretinoine🤷🏻♀️. 48 yo and finishing my _ilostcount_ round. It' s a genetic anomaly that works exactly like Ehler Danlos Syndrome. The older I am, the more sebum I produce, it doesn' t seem to have a ceiling. So every 3-4 years, I need a Hollywood Dose. But no😅 I don' t have a single line (not even wrinkle), I very often need to show my ID. Annoying anomaly causes pleasant anomaly😁✨ 🧛🏻♀️🖤

I actually noticed that it did not strip my skin from its natural oil. My face felt quite hydrated even after a short wash with rice berry facewash.
After finishing a bottle of dermaaco face wash last month, I switched to rice berry face wash the next month. I believe rice berry suited my skin better and resulted in good results.

coffee filters work well too!
I used brown paper towel if I run out😂
Toilet seat covers works the best. Especially the side of the cover that’s the dullest. Cut into pieces and you’re good to go!

I experienced same thing with Cetaphil. It's shit. Burns my eyes 😭
Differin was terrible for me i hated the way it felt when i washed my face with it but i do love the ceravae foaming cleanser.

Maganda din for oily face ang Dr s wong lightening soap and face cream as moisturizer and sunscreen

Love this la Roche posay ,
So do I use all these at once? Or are some before bed? Leave on?
What’s your thoughts on the Aveeno calm and restore moisturizer gel for oily combination? My oil spots are my t zone
What to do about dark spots and eczema. I'm 71 and getting some spots on my upper cheeks and sides of my face. Hard to get rid of these marks
These generally require in-office treatments such as lasers or chemical peels.
Thank you Dr. Ellis! Can the Skinceuticals silymarin product be used in place of the Paula's choice product. In other words can it do double duty?
The Sal acid in the silymarin may be enough for some, but I could imagine there are others out there who really benefit from the 2% in PC
Unfortunately the Biore spf contains fragrance if it didn’t would of made a great spf for oily skin.
I’ve read that benzoyl peroxide and vitamin c cancel each other out, but not with a BP cleanser. Can you use a benzoyl peroxide cleanser in the morning with vitamin c serum (pure vitamin c)?
