- If you're in your 40s or you're about to be, there are a few things you can do to take the best care of your skin. As a dermatologist, my patients in their 40s always ask about what skincare products and in-office treatments (like Botox, lasers, chemical peels, etc) I recommend. So in this video, I share my favorite anti-aging skincare products, treatments, and more.

Would LOVE a peptide education video!!!!
Sencond that!!!🙏🏻
Yeeeessss please!!!
Please the EXTENSIVE peptide breakdown PLEASE!!!!
And growth factors!! Please!!!
It’s just so refreshing that your prequel line is affordable!! So many derms make lines that are super expensive and price gouging!!! Not only are yours affordable, they are amazing!!! ❤
I would LOVE a skincare video for your 50s---would be very much appreciated:)
Me also!
Korean sunscreens changed my life! I’ve never liked the feel of sunscreen on my skin and how sticky it can get after application; Korean sunscreens apply like a dream and leave my skin feeling like…….skin. I’ve tried about 15 different Korean sunscreens and while there are some I prefer over others, I’d definitely use all of them.
Hi! I ordered a few and can't wait to try them. For now my go-to were European brands Alverde and Balea for the nicest feeling sunscreens...
As a guy, I want a sunscreen that's as matte as possible, I don't want to have dewy, glass skin. Can you recommend one that is the most matte from the ones you've tried? Thanks!
@@lukastemberger
As a guy, I also don't like sunscreen making my face shiny. I am currently using Korean brand Isntree's Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel. It's great all around but still leaves a little shine.
A workaround I have found is using the company Anthony's Instant Fix Oil Control. It reduces shine in general, whether from oily skin or (as I've discovered) from sunscreen. I let the sunscreen dry down, then apply the Instant Fix over it. Works great, and a little goes a long way. This way, I am not too concerned whether the sunscreen is shiny or not because I know the Instant Fix will really cut the shine down.
Try the Haru Haru black rice sunscreen. Has a more matte finish.
If you have oily skin, consider trying the European version of Eucerin's Oil Control Dry Touch Sun Gel - Cream (NOT the Americn version). It has a true matte finish, and it helps reduce facial shine throughout the day. My skin looks better after I apply that sunscreen.
My upper blepharoplasty made me look at least 5-7 years younger, and so so mild! Really recommend for hooded eyes.
I want to do this, but I'm also terrified!
Hi! Would you consider doing a video on topical face estrogen creams for perimenopause/menopause?
Please make a dedicated video on Peptides!
"I watch my husband apply sunscreen and I just kinda wanna die!" :D
I'm jealous her husband even tries to apply it. It's like pulling teeth to even get mine to use it at all when he's going to be in the sun a lot, let alone on a consistent basis.
I’d love a peptide video!!!
Oh my god, the makeup??? Stunning
Microneedling has been my go to for years!!! It has really been a game changer to my skin♥️♥️♥️recommend 100%
I really appreciate all the details & organized points you used. It felt like I was in an office consultation with you, which answered all my questions. Thank you Dr. Ellis!
I love vitamin c prequel 🙌🏼🙌🏼 and yes thank you for making affordable!!
I'll be trying it next! Great price!
I will only use Prequel vitamin c from now on. Love it ❤
How about doing skincare for us baby boomers in our 60’s
Would sure appreciate it along with many more.
Thank you and Take Care
Yes! Peptide and hydrating serums video, please! 🙂
I turned 40 and I'm doing everything mentioned here :)
I've been learning and building up to it for a few years and now my skin looks better than when I was 30.
I also got Panasonic Vitalift RF about a month ago and I'm getting incredible results.
This device seems very interesting... What kind of results did you see?
@@liviusss It has 4 functions - RF, EMS, LED and ION. Let me give you a little review here :)
ION is a permeability increasing function and you can use it every day. I thought I would see the least results from this one, but when using it, I can see instant results when comparing to the side of the face I haven't used it on. It really feels like it makes the product penetrate and the skin feels plumped up.
LED - I can't really speak on this as it's supposed to be seen after long term use. I don't think I'll be able to say if any effects come from it or something else. It's very bright though!
EMS - I use it in conjunction with RF and at level 2 (out of 3) it's already almost too strong for me still. Again, muscle toning is a long term game.
RF - since I can only handle level 2 when used with EMS twice a week, I also use it on its own at level 3 once a week. After every single use I can see improvements! A month ago I had three visible forehead lines and now I have two and they're less pronounced. Immediately after use my skin feels firmer to the touch. Bouncier and harder. Can't really describe it, but when you touch your skin every day, you can definitely feel these changes. There is also an eye care RF function and that shows the most results. After using it, the undereye skin is just way smoother. It looks like I just woke up from a 12 hour sleep :)
I've been using adapalene for 3 years and then Tretinoin in the last 6 months. Great results and this device feels like it's really accelerating them.
@@lukastemberger That sounds amazing, I'm going to look up this device, hopefully I can find it here in Europe... Thank you for all the details!
Great video, great explanation, and you deserve two thumbs up.
Thank you Dr. Ellis this video is so informative you always share information in such a professional manner. I love your gleanser and vitamin C and I love how you tell us about your products but also other alternatives and you’re not shoving your products on your viewers.
U literally answered all the questions backed by order of use etc. bravo!
Yes to the peptides video. Would love an in depth video on growth factors, thank you!
Yes, please do a peptide video! Thank you so much! ❤
And yes to the peptide video! Btw I purchased the gleanser and it’s the first cleanser I’ve used where I notice my skin feeling soft and supple after washing rather than stripped and tight. Great product!
Thank you, this is excellent. Would love a comprehensive peptide video, thank you so very much!
Thanks for talking about how much diet, exercise, etc. affects the look and health of our skin.
Great video! Side note: love your makeup! The lip and cheek color are perfect!
Yes please would love a peptide video!
Yes please for a peptide and growth serum video!
Yes to peptides! 💚
Yes I would love to see a video about peptides.
Thank you, Dr Ellis. I appreciate this information. You are an inspiration to me. Can you let me know what tretinion you use?
This is so helpful and informative! I’ll be 41 in a few weeks and noticed a loss of volume and sagging in my facial skin seemingly overnight! I have only had Botox injected once and haven’t had any other cosmetic procedures, but I am very interested in sculptra for volume loss. I am terrified of filler. I see so many people with terrible results. 😬
Very informative. Thank you.
I would definitely be interested in a peptide video!
yes, please do a video on peptides and growth factors
Yes, dysport made a huge difference!
Yes! Video dedicated to peptides please! 😊
Yes, please do a peptide video!
Great video Dr Ellis 👏👏
Vitamin C serum, regular hydrofacial, sunscreen 50, Restylane skinbooster and babybotox. The only things that work for me personally. More agressive peels create inflamation and new skin problems, while gentle peels do not seem do any good either (no visible effect) 🤷♀️
Yes would love a video on peptides
Yes, red light therapy. I can't wait to buy one.
Hi Dr Ellis! Thanks for sharing these tips. I'm 41 and just had an acute eczema flare up. Would you consider doing a video on eczema - causes, treatments, any recommendations/preventative tips?
Hi Dr Ellis! Thank you for the super informative video! What cosmetic procedure do you suggest for the smile lines? Also, I would love to buy the Prequel products but I live in UK. Are you planning to ship your products to UK retailers?
This is what I am exactly looking for!
You posted this on my 40th birthday!! I’m ready!! 💁🏽♀️😁😌🥳
Omg this is scary!!! Thank you for all the advice and tips!! Any good treatments for crepiness under the eyes??
Would love a video on peptides Dr. Sam 😃. I am in my late 30s and already have retinoids, sunscreen, antioxidants and chemical exfoliants in my skincare routine. I have a good skin thanks to the routine I started 2 years back. I'd love to know about peptides at this point.
Great video!
Thank you, Dr. Ellis! Love you content. I have rosacea and would like to use a vitamin c product. Is there any you would recommend? Many thanks.
Ohhh yes please I'd love a video on peptides!
I had x2 fraxtel lasers for melasma on my face when I turned 40 - best thing ever didn’t realise how bad my complexion was before, now love going without foundation
Awesome sauce !!!
I would love to see a video on Peptides! Also, do you have any videos on Bakuchiol? I just purchased a Bakuchiol product because I thought it would be easier on my sensitive skin vs. a retinoid with my redness and starting to incorporate a product like this into my skin care routine. I would love to know your thoughts! Thank you! I love your channel and Prequel!!!
A video on peptides would be great! Thx!!
Chemical peels are amazing as well.
We would really appreciate a peptide education and recommendation video!!
Yes, please do make a video dedicated to peptide products.
Also, a skin cycling video with products suggestion.
Yes to a peptide video please!!!
Yes, peptides please.
i would love a video for skincare in your twenties!
Your videos are the best
I'm 66 and didn't start a retinol until I was 64. I'm astonished how my skin texture and tone has improved! I've even received unsolicited compliments from friends and family.🤩😌 Dr. Ellis is absolutely right! It's never too late to start.☮️💜
What type of retinol do you use?
A video on your favorite peptides would be great and a list of your favourite skin care for 50 years old and more
Loved this video and how detailed you are! Could you possibly do a video about the plasma pen (Plasma IQ)? I have crepey under eye skin and had to stop doing jellyroll Botox there because it made me look so weird when I smiled. This treatment is what was recommended for me to treat that skin around the eyes, but I'd love to know your thoughts on it and to hear of other treatments and products that specifically address that issue.....and I should probably start looking for a more hydrating eye cream because clearly what I'm using isn't doing anything lol
I started monthly laser genesis when I turned 40 and now at 47 my skin is better than it was decades ago. I also do yearly fraxel but I might do twice year now. I love laser!
I also started scultptra for skin rejuvenating (as opposed to filling) and I love it.
Oh and a lil Botox is 😚
Ooh, I've been dying to try sculptra
I would love a video about lasers ❤️
I would love to see an in-depth peptides video!
Very informative and comprehensive video 👍🏼. Can you do a peptides video?
can you do a video on the estrogen creme ? Thank you
Dr. Ellis, you look gorgeous! Please share with us your lip combo 😊
I have seriously sensitive and rosacea prone skin… and your videos regarding starting retinoids has helped me TREMENDOUSLY💗
I have been successfully using tretinoin a few nights a week for a couple of months now… and haven’t had irritation or purging! Thank you SO MUCH 🩵🙏🏻 your tips on how to transition and how to do it slowly (and the alternatives) helped me go slowly and safely 🥰
I'm so glad! Love hearing this and I’m so happy for you and your skin!
When I started Tretinoin, my skin was on fire, but luckily only for about a week. It felt and looked like a snake shedding its skin. What really helped me is The Ordinary's pink Barrier Serum and Azelaic acid in silicone on top of it. I apply 0.05 directly to skin, then the serum 15min later and tap in some Azelaic acid over the serum to lock it in. If I smear it pills. No irritation that way.
HI Dr. Ellis! Yes, Peptides please!
Peptides, please. Love your makeup; what is your lip makeup? Thank you for sharing your expertise.
Will we be able to get Prequel in the UK? Thanks
Thank you Doctor! To clarify: adapalene is more powerful than retinal? I am using the Ordinary .2% retinal, and would like to use the most efficacious treatment outside of trentinoin. Thank you!
Thanks Dr Sam for all the info! I’m interested in doing a laser procedure to help with my hyperpigmentation around my cheeks but my only concern is rebound hyperpigmentation (my complexion is on the medium to tan side due to my Asian ethnicity). Are there some lasers better for darker skin tones or does it really depend on who’s performing the procedure regardless of the laser?
What do you think about PRFM for the under eyes? Any benefit?
I would LOVE to order Prequel to Europe! 💘💘
Doc, what do you recommend for pitted and box acne scars for a 46 year old woman? Thanks for the great content!
I have a very sensitive skin- what products or treatments would you recommend for my eyes?
Can you share your opinion on the NIRA? I need help with marionette lines and would love at home devices.
Hi Dr Ellis I just recently Came across your tutorials and I love all your skincare advice I watched one where you talk about red light therapy and I’m looking to purchase a device , I have wrinkles and some Crepey skin on my neck ! Which started about two years ago!! I have bought so many creams low end and high end an nothing seems to be working so I thought I would try a
Red light device! However Omnilux is so expensive I was thinking about trying the hand held one that’s all over TH-cam and instagram what are your thoughts on those kind?
I've been using you vit c serum and i love the price especially compared to the other one i was using, the skinceuticals. I love the packaging too.
So happy you're enjoying it!
Hi Dr Ellis, I’ve heard a lot about PRP injections for the under eye area recently. Would you recommend this treatment ? I’ve read a few cases where patients have been blinded by PRP…
Yess a Peptide Video :):)
I wanna know more about epidermal growth factors!
The other thing with at-home devices, specifically red-light therapy masks, is I'm seeing reports of people getting eye damage. How can you properly protect your eyes? I find the goggles super uncomfortable, and even with a black eye mask over my closed eyes, I still find the light super bright.
Can you do a video on oily skin and acne while starting testosterone replacement therapy? I’m 47 and have started the pellets and the oil is crazy!
Hi Dr. Sam. Will Prequel ship internationally one day? I live in Canada and I came across videos about your brand and I would love to try some of your products.
recommendations for getting rid of/preventing sebaceous hyperplasia?
I would love a video dedicated to peptides please!
Do you think Khiels microdose retinol is enough in your 40s or should we use a stronger retinol? I have very sensitive skin with rosacea and i don't know if i should try a stronger retinol or its enough for the next step?
First, I wanted to say how much I LOVE your vitamin C serum!! My skin has never been able to tolerate other ones I've tried, but yours I can use every day. Thank you for creating an amazing product at a very affordable price. :) My question is this - I put on sunscreen when I'm getting ready for work at 5:30 am. My skin never sees the sun until recess at 1:40. Is my sunscreen still working at that point, or am I just throwing my $$ away?
There's no windows in your classroom? Does it affect your mood going without seeing sunlight for so much of your day?
Great question!!
What products and procedures do you use to stay so beautiful?
YES PEPTIDES PLZ.
Yes on peptide video! Would also love a video about pre event skincare to get the skin good for makeup. I’m currently struggling with peeling from tretinoin and putting makeup is so hard. I often look like Freddy Krueger! Lol
Curious what lasers are good for spider veins? My laser lady hit me several times with a sciton vascular laser 1064 and it worked great on my face but did absolutely nothing for my leg veins. She wants to try for a third time but I got no results from the first too and feel like it’s a waste of money to try again.
Please do peptides and include options that don't have hyaluronic acid or fragrance!
Would LOVE a video on how to add vitamin c into the routine if you’re already using tret.
I might check out her vitamin c videos. A lot of derms suggest using before you apply your sunscreen.
