  • Turbosmart Kompact Shortie Dual Port BOV available in two models
    The Dual Port (pshhh sound): amzn.to/2M7mf5Z
    The plumb back (no pshhh sound): amzn.to/35zQ4Ea
    The previous "pink" spring that had been shown in this video is not needed, the spring inside the Turbosmart BOV is the correct one to use, no need to swap it out.
    As for the BRA (boost reference adapter) you can and should install this. It converts the BOV to be fully mechanical, and help reduce/stop part throttle blowoff. This is recommended by Turbosmart.
    The other video we show the BOV in action, but what about the install? Luckily, access for the BOV on the Focus RS is pretty straight forward and you should have no problems installing it with basic hand tools.
    We don't go step by step in this video, but we show the springs inside of the BOV's and what it looks like compared to the stock setup.
    Part Number : TS-0203-1064 and TS-0203-1264

    I don't get why doesn't Turbosmart install the better spring to begin with? Not sell you a product and say "hey. if you want a better spring, you can by separately".

    I have a question I have the same BOV for my st everything was fine but then I decided to back out the bolts and put thread locker on then but I guess I tightened them to tight and it wouldn't allow the bov to fully let the air I lossened the bolts some then it worked any idea why that would be

    Does it come with the pink spring or do you have to buy it separately?

    Hi Charles
    Sorry to be a pain
    The video shows you installing the BOV with the pink spring and you made no other adjustments or add any extra bits
    I bought the part you show from Turbosmart TS 0203-1064 The box is clearly marked 2016 focus RS 2.3L Ecoboost, however in this box is a BRA boost refence adaptor, some fittings and hose
    Was that all you did as shown as clearly no one on TH-cam shows the fitting of this BOV and the extra bits
    I ask the question as I have a 2018 RS with only 170miles on the clock, I don’t want to destroy my engine
    Can you advise or anyone help me if I would need to install the bra

    • @chazpages
      @chazpages  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey you're no bother! I want to make sure this video is helping, not confusing.
      I installed this bov before some of the "updates" I guess...The BRA doesn't need to be installed, but I probably would. It's supposed to help with part throttle blowoff (which can become annoying) by making this bov completely mechanical, and not reliant upon the factory solenoid. Bottom line, install it (as recommended by Turbosmart).

      Did you have to adjust the BOV once installed I noticed you counted 7 turns with the pink spring

    Hey maybe you guys could help me, im a complete noob on this section. You will have this constant hissing while cruising if you dont install the BRA. But you have to install it where you originally plug in the BOV and absolutely no one mentions where you put the BOV in this case. I'm so lost right now bc it makes no sense in my mind...hope you will have an answer!

    Hi I ordered this valve and the pink spring spoke to Turbosmart who said that the pink spring should under no circumstances be fitted to this valve also why did you not install the extra parts that come with this BOV

    • @chazpages
      @chazpages  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Odd. I'll need to reach out to them. They're the ones that sent us the pink spring in the first place...I'm not sure which extra parts you mean, but I think the bov's come with extra stuff since they are applicable to multiple vehicles.

      Hi Dave,
      We didn't make that video so I can't comment on it - you might be able to get in touch with the creator of the video.
      Our parts are designed as aftermarket upgrades and as with everything in the Motorsport world, sometimes vehicle owners will customise products to suit their needs
      Installed from factory in your BOV is our Kompact Shortie Pink/Orange Spring, which is not available as a spare part (you wont see these packaged or for sale) - the springs you have shown me suit the larger Kompact BOVs
      We don't supply that spring as a spare part for your model of BOV, nor do we recommend it
      The BOV itself is a direct fit for your model, and no changing of springs is required
      Check out the instructions here
      Thank you,

      Okay, looks like I'll need to edit the description. Before (when I did the install) that pink spring came straight from them, but obviously there is a slight update with it not being needed to be swapped. I also added info on the BRA, so hopefully everyone is set from here!

    Does the pink spring fit the shortie Bob? I fitted one to mine and she doesn't blow off, the stock is alot shorter so I'm wondering if the pink spring is to long.

    Hello!
    Sounds good 👍🏻
    No need to install the adapter? Can it be installed only by changing the original valve by the turbosmart as shown in the video?

    • @chazpages
      @chazpages  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The original BOV (really a re circulation valve) is no longer used. The Turbosmart BOV replaces the entire unit.

    is a tune needed afterwards?

    • @chazpages
      @chazpages  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We ran ours for a while without, but it would be suggested.

    • @lornesbored
      @lornesbored 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      NO, it is NOT required. The car has MAP sensors meaning this air is not metred and the engine is not relying on this air, it is fine to run it forever on this blow off valve without a tune.

  • @V8dadmartin
    @V8dadmartin 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @chazpages
      @chazpages  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We had no issues when we installed ours. A tune is highly recommended though, as this vents some air to the atmosphere that the engine was expecting to have/see. If I recall correctly, they have a 50/50 and a 100% return to engine one.

    Hello, i have the same car and i wanna put this same bov but if i do will i void my warranty ? And do i need a tune if i only wanna install the bov?? Thanks! And sounds amazing!!

    • @chazpages
      @chazpages  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Warranty: look up the magnuson moss warranty act. You DO still run a risk of dealer issues when you mod though. A tune is highly recommended. I'd get a tune first (cobb) and then start with bolt ons.

  • @63JackBlack
    @63JackBlack 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Does this void your service warranty?

    • @chazpages
      @chazpages  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Warranty voiding is a gray area. Basically if something fails because of this part, Ford can claim not to cover it. If your suspension starts to leak, they can't blame this. Check out magnuson moss act.

    Hey man, I used to be an STI owner, and we needed a tune for just about anything. I'm getting an RS in about 2 weeks - 1 month from now. Can I just slap on a BOV or a whole turbo back exhaust and not have to tune it?

    • @chazpages
      @chazpages  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      A tune is highly recommended, as you'll gain more power and it'll run better over all (with or without mods) but the BOV can be run without a tune, and a turboback might be okay, but I don't know about check engine lights and sensors since I haven't done a turboback yet.
